To say the least it's valuable to know the services so that an individual doesn't feel total pressure to personally pay for someone who's begging for help, including scammers.

I went to province BI to extend and they refused until it was two weeks before expiration. It was 15 days before. So I was in Manila the next week for my wifes processing and then went back to province BI and I applied for 6 months Visa. Oh sorry sir you can only get 6 months visa at BI in Manila. Oh sorry sir you need 2 passport photos. This information is helpful before going back to the BI. But they don't tell you. Very polite people but no information until it's too late. No written notices about the process at the BI. I completely want to comply with PH laws and regulations but trying to get those rules is very difficult and results in multiple visits, late fees, wasted time and penalties. A simple list would be great

Thanks for the heads up. The BI never refused my money, no matter how early I wanted to renew. Maybe you should try a different office.

Hey Steve, very informative video. Just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your videos. Am not interested in too many vloggers from Luzon area as I am interested in retiring to the Cebu area, but find that you have great videos and like your content even though your in the Luzon area.
Just watched 'Mikes Philippine Retirements' live and he said he is going to visit you and am glad to know that 2 vloggers that I like are meeting up and hope you two have a good meeting and collaboration.
    Thank you, Steve...Jim

@@jsully4064 that i am not sure of. Every time we have visited has been under 30 days (anywhere from 21-28) since I only have one month vacation at work. So i havent been able to stay over 30 so far. But they gave us one year stamps at the airport when we said she was balakbayan. (No fee, no hassle) so the BI officers were not a problem. Although, I would also say, they never even asked to see our return tickets.

I'm wondering if the VA's grant per diem (GPD) housing program exists here in Philippines. It is a housing program good for 24 months that provides housing for homeless veterans. You can use it 3 times in a lifetime. I used it once when I transitioned from overseas to United States. It is a good program for veterans in need of housing, if they return to America. It includes "transitional housing."

Interesting about the repatriation stuff.. I just finished an overstay of 10 months, I was stupid, but it was pretty easy to fix... Never doing that again! There is a lot of uncertainty about overstays, good information.

If you are on an srrv and have 10k being held by the trust, does this help give you some leeway. Sometimes, we have banking issues, and it can mess us up. I know that the PRA can be useful in certain situations when things happen . Im referring to temporary situations naturally that can be rectified with a quick trip back to the states and some corrections made one of the things im concerned about is if my bank branch closed where my money is being deposited. As everything is electronic transfer, it can throw things off . Many Filipinas would love to handle your money, and if you're dumb enough to allow that to happen, then you deserve to get robbed. If you feel comfortable with that, then have a separate account for her to be able to access for bills and such, but always have your own private account that only you have access to.

  • @petes1985

What’s a good reason to request a 6 month extension? Otherwise no point in going to a BI office, just do it online for the 2 mo. The lady behind the thick glass window said get married , lol!

The guy's that are in the detention centre we know barry has been accused for a crime in the Philippines so i understand why he is being held.
We all know the other guy Paul was involved in crime in the usa why is he being held in the Philippines for so long why wouldn't he be deported back to the usa within say something like 2 weeks after being put in a Philippines prison ?
He may be under investigation for a crime in the Philippines that we don't have about.
Im only curious as in why Paul hasn't been deported by now.
