    Thank you for this, I followed Sarah for several years. I discovered her around 6 years ago when my ed started and my 16 years old self would buy al the “clean Food”(Yikes), it was a whole journey but caught myself getting triggered everytime I saw a story or a video
 I’m still struggeling with food, bodyimage and exercise but I’m working on it. It is my first reaction ever but I love your instagram stories, CZcams video’s and podcast episodes! ❀

    Great video. Well said. I had to stop following Sarah when she posted a video and in it was speaking about how she worked out/ran so hard that she essentially blacked out.     how do we get rid of the belief that eating a certain way, IE: WFPB SOS free is the healthiest way to eat to prevent illness? I'm trying to shed these beliefs but it is hard--especially if I add in animal protein and then get constipated or have an ache or pain and I tend to revert back to only eating vegan.....but I also like to eat a bowl of cereal in the evening or chew gum and I know they are not healthy b/c they aren't Whole Foods so I think I'm always deep down feeling guilty or scared

    I have a comment on my the video linked here that explains neutralizing foods more in depth, but to explain it here: Neutralizing foods isn’t saying they are all the same. It’s saying that different foods can nourish us in different ways in different moments. Foods can provide nutrients, connection, experience, fuel and each one can be used in different moments. When you can actually neutralize foods though the ones that are “off limits” start to become less attractive because you see them for exactly what they are and can decide how you truly feel about them rather than have them on a pedestal

    I’d love to believe that all goods are equal and ok but I just can’t make myself not think whole plant foods like fruits veggies beans and grains are healthier than Oreos and chips

      I totally get that Anne! I think that it’s important to note that all foods are in fact different and an Oreo isn’t the same as fruit or beans. The way I like to reframe this is that all foods can nourish us in different ways in different moments. For example, eating veggies can be nourishing for your body but an Oreo may be nourishing your for soul or experiences (think sharing these with your friends or kids). When you make it so that your reaction to these is neutral you can choose more clearly what works for you. For example, you may love veggies and naturally find yourself eating them often but you actually may not really like Oreos so you don’t eat them often, but will in the right circumstance if you want. Or you may find you love Oreos so you eat them more often than you are now and feel like you’re forcing yourself to eat some veggies you don’t like (or that aren’t reacting well to your body) so you loosen your control on that.     Mine was in 5th grade when a boy said I was “fat”. I believed him even though I was very skinny. I started to not eat as much and he eventually confessed that he liked me. At the time I was starved, and everybody was worried about me. He said he just wanted to be funny.

    I would have never if others did not judge their body’s in frount of me. I remember my mother talking about her thighs negatively and then I looked mine didn’t touch. Still self conscious about that. This is why I will never do that in frount of my children

    I was 5 or 6 years ago and my babysitters husband said "move chubby!", when walking past me in the hallway. I realized I needed to be thin after this and cried like any 5 or 6 year old would. However I was a child it was baby fat, or I gain weight because I was actually eating at my babysitters house (child of an neglectful alcoholic). However after that I told my mom and she continued to hurt me and call me chubby & looking back at pictures I wasn't even fat or "chubby".

    my first time was freshman year of highschool and this qho was like 3 years older than me would grab my stoamch and say that I was 3 week pregnant and that I was fat (keep in mind I'm not even fat I was probably like 100 lb) ever since that day I began to wear waist trainers everyday without fail. I'm trying to get over it though andbi no longer wear waist trainers (only with dresses I would)

    My eating disorder started in 5th grade. I was much taller than everyone else. Therefore I weight quite a bit more, but I was a healthy weight, very much into sports and hiking. I first noticed because all of my friends in track were getting into lighter weight sections than me, and also because my mom was a model and we use to watch a lot of America's next top model.

    Mine was probably at around eight/nine years old when my friend would constantly tell me i had chubby cheeks and the girls tried to discourage my dream of being a cheerleader because theu said i was too fat. I ended up doing cheer a whole year and a half afterwards, the only reason I quit was because of some health issues

    The end of 3rd grade it was the stage of pre puberty and pre pandemic and istg that wasn’t a pretty mix I got insecure about how round my body was and how bad my acne was (I have since hit puberty and all of the most of those insecurities have dwindled)
