    I agree with everything you’ve said. Also, I’ve noticed that there is A LOT of content about how to lose weight, but barely any content on how to know when to stop loosing weight. So many people fall victim to loosing too much weight and becoming underweight… I think diet culture is a huge reason why.

    You inspire me so much. Even though I'm going through my dietetics masters program and know what I should eat and to exercise, I struggle. I've gained about 15lbs since I started in the fall and I feel down sometimes. Thanks for reminding me to have a healthy relationship with food and moving my body! ❤

    This helped so much! Thank you for making this! Most videos are really about “what are you doing wrong” “how can you improve on this part of your workout” and sometimes you just want a video that will make you feel more normal and confident with who you are, there aren’t enough videos out here like this one so thank you!

      aw thank you so much for your kind words Olivia! i am so glad that it resonated in the way it did. and LOVE what you said because I so agree there is to much focus on what is being done "wrong" instead of all of the things outside of that causing the struggles :)

    Thank you so much for being so vulnerable and sharing your story! You are such an inspiration. I am currently recovering from ED and have gained some weight... I got my period for the first time since starting recovery! I think my main struggle is battling my inner critic on body image and feeling confident in my body. I totally understand where you're coming from with diet culture and having unrealistic and unattainable body image goals. A lot of people are suffering in silence with ED and disordered eating and you are shining a light for those who are still in the dark! Sending so much love... keep up the amazing work! You have inspired me to keep fighting for food and body freedom!

    I absolutely love this type of video. It is so helpful and I feel like I'm having a conversation with a friend. One video topic I would love to see is about how to reintroduce foods like gluten and dairy after not eating them in a long time because of fears of orthorexia and IBS related fears. Maybe talk about how to separate ed fears vs IBS fears

    I feel like we make so much about weight about how we look and how that impacts our vale. I recently made a video about my health/weight loss journey and no pain no gain, all or nothing exercise and dieting sets a lot of people up for failure etc when it should actually be about doing what is healthy for you and makes you feel good.

      by the way my BMI is not low right now, I gained lots of weight right after I took medication about recovery but these thoughts are up and down each day; this is what I am calling healing for.

    I was just talking with someone about this the other day. It says a lot that this video (and videos like it) will receive a couple of views and likes, but photos of skinny, half naked women receive millions upon millions of likes and views. It just sucks, and it makes me so frustrated and angry. And my heart hurts so much for younger women (and men as well) who are coming up and trying to navigate through all this nonsense. I'm 22 and I began the binge-restrict cycle when I was like 9ish, because I was overweight and wanted to fit the social views of what was "attractive"...but yet food was literally the only thing in my life that made me consistently happy at the time (a fact that I only realized like...what...2 weeks ago or something xD, better late than never). I wouldn't wish the last 13 years of this food journey on my worst enemy. I don't want to trigger anyone, so I won't go into detail, but I did a lot of damage to my body using food, and I hate that so many people are going through this now. I'm still in the beginning stages of healing and learning, hey, it's actually okay to eat a cookie every now and then without having a quarter life crisis. Believe it or not, that's a huge step lol. Anyways, good luck to anyone who reads this and is also struggling! I wish you nothing but progress :) don't give up!
    Also, I'm new here, and I haven't seen your other videos, but you did a great job with this video :) at the end of the day, I don't think we need fancy edits and gimmicks. Just somebody being real and sharing how they feel. Thanks for that.

    Love this! I'm not alone! ♡
    I enjoy the healthy life style! But I've bounced through disordered eating and still do. I've been trying to lose the last 10 pounds.
    But, not attainable? I thoughts on this lately
    Yes, I see it on social media, but I also see women in town, at the grocery store, at the beach, running past my house...everywhere. It almost feels like I'm hiding from the grind by saying it isn't attainable, when it is? I don't know. ☹

    • @MalloryJPage
      @MalloryJPage  Před 3 lety +1

      never alone Marie! when it comes to weight, if it is hard for your body to achieve then it is not attainable for your body. not to mention that body dysmorphia causes us to view other people much differently than ourselves. and when you see someone in media or on your street that looks that way they may very likely be going through their own disordered thoughts as well! life and freedom is so much better than any body size :)
