The 2005 Ferrari F2005, which Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello drove, is among the best-sounding cars ever.
But, as the pistons are moving up and down, and all of those explosions are happening, what’s actually going on that makes specifically a V10 just sound so good?
Well, I’ve always wondered, so I did some research to find out if it’s just personal preference or whether there’s something scientific about V10s that makes our brains love them.

Is Formula E Harder Than F1?

I’ve been lucky enough to drive both Formula 1 and Formula E cars. I’ve driven F1 cars all the way from the early 80s, all the way up to the mid-2010s. And a few weeks ago, I drove a Formula E car for the first time. But, how are they different? And which one would be the most challenging to race? Well, my answer might surprise you. Well, I wanted to take a look at the differences between F1 an...

That crisp V10 🤤🤤🤤🤤
wow
Just started sim racing couple months ago. All this info is pure gold. Thank you very much 🏎️
Wouldn’t it be the torque instead of the HP that buckles the tires?
Shorter tire diameter effectively raises the gear ratio, and taller tire diameter effectively lowers the gear ratio. High gear ratio sacrifices top speed for faster acceleration while lower gear ratio sacrifices acceleration for a higher top speed. Come on man.
What part of a dragster isn't crazy? Maybe the paint?
Absolutely the V10 😎
Such a great feeling when you get it right, the front digging in and the rear just slightly creeping outward.
I had a car with an inline 5, I miss having a car that sings a perfect 3rd harmonic.
V10
As a newly retired former Ad Man, and long time automotive fanatic, my life would be complete if I was to win this drive. Love this channel and this episode. ❤️👍🍷
Wait, so they thought a car that is built to be constantly turning wouldn't be able to handle the turns? "Several long straights" You mean one straight that was ruined and took out half the reason to care about Le Mans?
unpopular opinion: high rev v10s sound whiney and screechy af. V8 all the way
hellcat challenger setting a record 0-60 at 1.6 secs
I can tell you what your doing wrong. Take off all the extra crap, its only going 60mph.
8 sounds great
Both are boring. Moto GP rules. Always has, always will.
isnt it about the downforce and not the weight?
V10 & v8
The V8 is very cool
Crazy how a race with no rules made rules to stop one person from winning... Sore losers I guess. 💩
idk man sounds so dangerous! be careful lol
V10 ❤️
Why the tyre doesnt go flat when standing still if they are 0.5 bar?
You have the right spirit, never give up, own your mistakes and use them to get better. What a ride, so much fun to see you enjoy this experience!
19:35- that’s gotta be the ultimate butt-pucker moment for a driver in a predominantly aero car- getting that light over a crest. I watched(YEARS ago), the BMW LMR go ass over tea kettle at road Atlanta on approach to the downhill chicane on the back straight. I can’t remember if it was lhetto or their other guy. We left that race with the front clip of that car. The guy with us that took it passed away a few years later and his wife sold it for pennies because she thought it was “just some broken plastic”. We all know it wasn’t plastic and DEFINITELY not junk. It was a piece of history that was sold in a garage sale for $10. If you’re reading this and have that front clip- shame on you for taking advantage of her. You know what you did
You meant "800 e-brake horsepower"?😅
boeing needs some of this technology in their manufacturing processes.
The fact that the fan cars were SO good or had the potential to be that they got banned from all the races and Can-Am even. It is a shame that Can-Am never got to continue on, racing would have been so so much more fun.
I understand that they already beat their set goal of a less than a 1 second 0-60mph time, but i’m just curious and very interested in this topic and I have been wondering what else they could do to make the car faster and I have some questions. Since the throttle pedal is variable (can apply any throttle value between 0% and 100%) does this mean that the 0-60mph time of the vehicle can be negatively affected based off of the time it takes your foot to apply 0% to 100% throttle? In that case why don’t you use two throttles in order to get rid of the issue, with one throttle being variable so you can still comfortably maneuver the car with precision and one with an instant 0% to 100% throttle application to maximize the 0-60mph times?
Poor tyre engineers! They must be tired!
If you are comparing drivers, F1 has the best and they are much better than Indy car drivers. Go back to the year Nigel Mansell raced for Newman/Haas racing
Depends on Max.
V10
What happened to this project?
"A load of camber..." removed.
Stan Barret most likely did not break the sound barrier at all.
I wonder what fuel efficiency increases one could get from a system like this on the street
Can’t wait for the lawnmower engine assisted battery powered cars in 2026 🙃
The V10!! 🤯
as a non racing driver, i feel like learning somewhere like this with grass on all sides would boost my confidence substantially. in the back of my head would always be "don't destroy this car that isn't mine" and the grass would ease some of that.
You learn something new every day, thanks for that 😊😊
F1 is the most regulated sport in history. Not hard to imagine something faster. Much, much faster.
Tbh i was left foot braking on like toy cars and sims, and only ever right foot braked for my drivers test as theyd fail ya using 2 feet on auto. But ever since the test itself ive been left foot braking. So for me tbh im very exact and smooth with my left, and if i had to right foot brake, its also smooth due to throttle control. I can understand tho how if u right foot brake for years then try left foot braking yes youll slam into the wheel LOL
"Honestly if we have no rules.......fans!"
Man this channel is top. I love how much I learn with it plus the passion I feel transmitted 🔥

A Benetton engennier explained how they managed to get TC (Yes, the had TC during 94') and they weren't breaking any rule, just pushing it to the limits. The car had not any kind of computer in it, just a modified engine
he is pointless
No wonder its that hard to keep such a dragster straight on the street...
