Had a great time watching him play through. But if he only knew the true ending to this wad, he’d be so impressed

hearing him ask if Bad Dog is here during the fire well, before the brutalist phase, is so funny. This wad/pk3 is what brought me into the doom modding community and it's awesome to see Romero himself playing it. If Romero sees this, I want you to know how much of a timeless classic you took part in creating. Even being born nearly a decade after it's release, I've still played through it and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! You and the rest of the folks at early id really revolutionized PC gaming, my biggest hobby wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you!

I love how he just casually keeps playing through Underhalls as if he hasn't played that level 10,000 times already, and you can still just hear the joy at visceral moments of blowing enemies away and picking up weapons and ammo. John's truly an artist who loves his work.

I feel like this Wild West, fun of on the go, dare/one upsmanship of game making in the 90’s doesn’t exist anymore which made games groundbreaking and exciting in the 90’s and before. There’s probably an intelligent reason for it but idk I almost wish that was a thing now.

I can't even remember the last time I played any iteration of DOOM II but at the end of the level when the timer was counting I still instinctually clicked to skip it.

I miss the days where PC hardware was evolving to the point where completely new gaming experiences were appearing left and right. Today, we just get a little more polish and a little more depth with each passing year, but back then we were being floored over and over again.

This .WAD is like a Ubisoft DLC, if Ubisoft were never a thing, DLC stood for Don't Load Content, Ubisoft were never a thing; and the first three letters of "gaming" stood for "player made content". Oh, and the use of the Hans Zimmer slowdown bass "boom" didn't infect every single aspect of my waking life!

This is the first time I've heard John speak in over a decade perhaps and it amazes me how he's well into his 50s but his voice sounds so clean and youthful, like he's only in his young 20s.

All we know for sure about the creator of this WAD is the fact he watched this video I got no source for this claim
