Good info there as usual and a good point Mr D shark helmets for me i.ve had some spectacular racing incidents over the years and still about and the price is reet good for a Yorkshireman.

If you want the highest level of protection, you need double D fasteners, non flip up and no drop down visor. Anything else is a compromise. I pay about £100 per year for an Arai adventure helmet, it’s not that expensive.

I think Arai have been taking the piss on pricing for year's, unfortunately i cannot find anything else that fits me an offers the same levels of comfort, But i agree with you about some of the quality, especially with visor locks and ventilation ect.

Arai will not compromise safety and shell integrity for retractable visors and modular helmets. I am also pretty sure that modular and retractable visor helmets cannot get a SNELL rating.

Arai never gonna do any other lock than double D because of safety... double D is the most safe way to lock the helmet... This guy have no clue what is he talking about ARAI... This is the same reason why ARAI never gonna do an open chin helmet... only full face helmets

I have the same exact setup on my T7. Just did it today. My only concern is that the camel adv bend is extremely close to my swing arm. When I step off the bike, the swing arm does barely kiss the camel bend pipe. I think it has something to do with the akro headers. Did you have a problem with this? I also noticed akro doesn’t use the stock exhaust mount under the bike behind the oil pan. Kind of weird for how much the headers cost

Arai purposefully don't do modular or lenses drop downs so that they retain the structural integrity of the shell. That suits me fine.

Have you seen the video were Fortnine hits Modular’s with a golf club and it basically falls apart. That’s why aria will not make one.

Finding one that fits me is very hard, I have an odd shaped head. I go for the lightest helmet possible and would love a modular but they are very heavy. The LS2 carbon helmet is fantastic, except the vent is in the wrong place for my camera set up. 😎

I don't believe you cannot get a SNELL certification for modular with flip-up chin guard

in a world were very few are willing to admit they are remotely at fault, it's very refreshing to see a rider acknowledge that whilst the driver was in the wrong, more awareness on your part could have avoided it. very nice to see you not intimidating the driver afterwards like so many others would. checked out your vid on the drystar boots and came across this. subscriber gained 👍

It annoyed my that it didn't turn off immediately with my standard lead acid battery. I thought it sensed a charging state, not a state of charge. Perhaps they've set it too low even for lead acid batteries?

Thanks to your review i ordered the 12v version of the wireless charger instead. The only bad thing is that i had to put it direct to a fuse (a fuse that's only powered when the bike is on), but that's just one time thing, a bit work but sure worth it. Keep up the good work and drive safe!

Hey, I know this is an old video, but if I'm not mistaken, USB-C ports are somewhat waterproof. I mean, don't charge stuff under the water. But getting some rain on the OUTSIDE of the exposed metal on the base of the cable will not affect neither the cable or charger, as it's just a shield/barrier that doesn't transfer any data. So your cable, even without the foam/rubber/whatever they sent you is already waterproof. On the other hand, if it was connected to a modern phone, the device itself would prevent any charge to go through the cable if it detects any moisture or liquid in it's port. I don't know about the wireless charging but believe it wouldn't though.

Would it be possible to mount that quad lock charger where the gps is on your setup? I use my phone more than a GPS and have installed a shorter screen from puig. When on that cross bar mount the phone sits slightly higher than the screen.

I did this when I bought my africa twin 8 years ago. The bike certainly was everything they said it'd be. But then I spent weeks locked away at remote work camp, researching and ordering all "the best" protection and performance parts and bolt on crap. Once I got home for time off I installed everything and the bike was a tank, and handled like one. I would turn away from exploring a lot of roads because I didn't want to wrestle the heavy bastard on anything more difficult than a logging road. I bought my T7 3 years ago and the only thing I've ever purchased for it was tires and a proper chain guide. Still the agile beast it was the day I bought it. I think the worst mistake someone can make is get on the internet and start reading all the forums and watching videos about how bad the engineers screwed this and that up and how you need to spend $10,000 on "fixes" just to make the bike rideable. The internet is so full of BS about motorcycles it's almost a god dam epidemic. There are several companies out there dedicated to find every little thing on a motorcycle that could possibly be misconstrued as something that needs improving, then they invent some part for you to buy and they get on the horn about how you will in fact be left stranded on the road to deadhorse some day if you don't buy this part! Just get on that bike and ride the piss out of it.

Those were probably the first wireless kits, which were replaced after a while with a more refined and complete kit, having 2-3 waterproof usb-c cable in the box. No problem with mine. I like to point out that if you mount the wireless charger kit on the anti vibration item, you will need to mount the anti vibration base in a way to don't interfere with the usb cable in to the wireless charger head. Safe ride everyone! 😉👍
