  • So many people have fuel anxiety with the #YAMAHATENERE700 ... in my day I'd be happy to get 170 miles out of a Sunday thrash on my Honda CBR600, although that was a time of much larger gonads. The #T7 is of course a #dualsportadv bike and fuel capacity is a serious issue if you're between servos. I've had fuel anxiety when I felt I was in the middle of nowhere, I'd have been much more at ease had I known exactly how much I had left in the tank. Well here's a definitive answer, and I can tell you now, it rarely varies when I take in to consideration the differing terrain I ride. Off road, suburb commutes and freeway speeds are where I am regularly venturing. In this video I'm very close to empty and have my #ROTOPAX on board so I'm able to run dry and answer the question on every #TENERE700 owners lips, definitively ... how far can you go? Do you get a splutter warning? Can you stretch it that bit further?
    T7 owners ... what's your record on a full standard 16 litre tank?
    Thanks for watching, please comment/like/share & subscribe for more Tenere 700 content.

    I did this same experiment in Arizona, USA. I have a flashed ECU to run richer and opened intake/exhaust. I got 212 miles (338km) before it died. That comes out to right about 50 mpg.

    So just watched this after returning from Scotland where I've just done my first 200+ miles on a tankful of premium petrol. Bike had a couple of unusual splutters before we went so filled up with the extra expensive fuel and it seemed to go on forever so think I'll keep feeding it to her. Saw that type of fuel can on a duel sport bike last week and wondered what it was.

      @TheRiderGuider  Před rokem +1

      YES the premium fuel is a bit pricey over there mate - blimey. We pay the same number in dollars and complain. I don't know how the UK manages to keep running!

    The average fuel consumption of my T7, over 10000kms, is 29.877km/l as recorded on the Fuelio app'. For context, the majority of my riding has been at a relaxed pace in a rural area on a mix of bitumen and gravel roads; running an MT07 (16 tooth) front sprocket. For several years, I drove heavy vehicles for a company that paid generous bonuses based on fuel consumption, and have carried lessons learned there into later life. It would be interesting to know how many litres remained in your tank, Neil, when you coasted to a stop.

      Hi Alf, I reckon our riding is pretty similar. Yorkshireman, like to get the best value ;-) ... it was bone dry mate.

    My longest run so far on my T7 is about 365km. I still had (according to the bowser) about another 1.5L to go. My avg is 4L/100km so in theory in ideal conditions should be 400km. I'll add though that this was using the bikes odometer and not the Garmin XT. I know the speedo is a bit optimistic (about 10% higher than actual) and I am suspicious that the odo is too.

    • @TheRiderGuider
      @TheRiderGuider  Před rokem

      YEH I go by the odometer for my fuel but you're right on the speedo being out 10%. I get 112kmh indicated on the speedo at 100kmh on the GPS.

    Once i've done 379km on mine. Othertime i've put 16.12 liters and anohertime my fuel consumption was 3.66l/100km. Little math - it shoud be possible to drive 437 km on single tank.

    Best I've seen is 232 miles without running out, squeezed in 15.5 ltrs. That was all motorway and A roads. 66.7mpg sitting at speed limits with no traffic. Journey from my friends house North Wales going home to North Kent (London) 👍

    • @TheRiderGuider
      @TheRiderGuider  Před rokem

      That's a great run - nice work. It takes some effort to stay frugal - no traffic about makes it tempting to push on!

      @@TheRiderGuider To be honest, I love riding my T7 on any type of road or offroad. Never been a massive speed freak, for to easy to loose your licence on one ride. I find the T7 sits quite nicely at 70 mph ish. 🤔👍

      @RIDER GUIDER
      I filled up and rode it as hard as possible to see what the worst fuel range would be before it ran out of fuel.
      Ridden gently it could go over 200 miles on a tank.
      Mine is remapped with de cat exhaust.
