- In this video, I give my opinion on Arai. I've been using Arai Helmets for three decades, yes thirty years. There is no doubt that Arai are the No.1 motorcycle helmet manufacturer in the world, proven by the fact that the vast majority of professional racers and riders don their heads with their helmets. However, in recent times, there has been an influx of so called lesser known brands who are quickly making in roads on build quality and most importantly innovative features that Arai are it seems not responding to. I question whether or not the Arai range is now worth the cost compared to for example The LS2 range or others that are available as very decent alternatives. #arai #araihelmets #araireview

Have you seen the video were Fortnine hits Modular’s with a golf club and it basically falls apart. That’s why aria will not make one.
I think Arai have been taking the piss on pricing for year's, unfortunately i cannot find anything else that fits me an offers the same levels of comfort, But i agree with you about some of the quality, especially with visor locks and ventilation ect.
Arai is massively innovating in high pricing for sure....
Arai purposefully don't do modular or lenses drop downs so that they retain the structural integrity of the shell. That suits me fine.
Good info there as usual and a good point Mr D shark helmets for me i.ve had some spectacular racing incidents over the years and still about and the price is reet good for a Yorkshireman.
I don't believe you cannot get a SNELL certification for modular with flip-up chin guard
@@jwiatrek good point 👍🏼 but Shoei have still managed to make one of the safest helmets out there that’s a modular 😎
If you want the highest level of protection, you need double D fasteners, non flip up and no drop down visor.
Anything else is a compromise.
I pay about £100 per year for an Arai adventure helmet, it’s not that expensive.
@@bryansuperduke1290r absolutely agree, especially on the DD (as mentioned in the vid) … I just think, we’re now able to do SO much with technology in other fields, there has to be a innovative way to at least include an extra built in tinted visor without compromising it, swapping out a whole (Arai) visor isn’t hard but carrying one for changing conditions is for sure. Appreciate the comment 👍🏼🙂
Arai will not compromise safety and shell integrity for retractable visors and modular helmets. I am also pretty sure that modular and retractable visor helmets cannot get a SNELL rating.
Finding one that fits me is very hard, I have an odd shaped head. I go for the lightest helmet possible and would love a modular but they are very heavy. The LS2 carbon helmet is fantastic, except the vent is in the wrong place for my camera set up. 😎
With that accent, I was expecting the price to be in a British pound rather than dollars.
I do like the LS2 helmet.

Arai never gonna do any other lock than double D because of safety... double D is the most safe way to lock the helmet... This guy have no clue what is he talking about ARAI... This is the same reason why ARAI never gonna do an open chin helmet... only full face helmets
@@indor13 that’s a confusing response. Saying I have no clue when I’m saying the same as you about the double D fastener being the best? Arai also do make open face helmets. I have a strong clue. Maybe you didn’t understand my video?
