  • After a request from Darius in Malta, here is my set up for the Motology GPS stabiliser on my Yamaha Tenere 700. It's a well known issue that this great product is not a straight forward fit if we install it alongside the ever popular Barkbusters due to clearance issues on full lock and the risk of the handlebars colliding with and damaging the clocks or GPS. Here is my explanation of what I had to do to make sure I reduced the risk of damaging my clocks in the event of dropping my Tenere 700.
Hope this is useful... Thanks to Darius for the question and reminding me to do this content.

My man Neil, the RIder Guider - always generous in sharing great technical tips with the T7 community. Well done Mate and Happy New Year!

THANKSMY MATE! How's it going over the pond? I've been having a bit of a break recently but starting to get my enthusiasm back for some content. 2024 should see us both push on! All the best for a great CZcams experience this year - 2024 will see you smashing it. 🙂

I’ve got the nearly identical Twalcom setup for my T7, and I’m about to do the same modification to my Barkbusters. Nice to see that it’s workable. Thanks!

It is, another consideration to add to the mix is bar risers as well. Thanks mate :)

Oh, not for this cowboy! If anything, I’d like to have less rise so that I can get up and over the bar a bit more easily in the standing position. I’m not sure that this dash set-up would accommodate that-I’ll have to see how it all looks when I get it all together.👍👍

Would it be possible to mount that quad lock charger where the gps is on your setup? I use my phone more than a GPS and have installed a shorter screen from puig. When on that cross bar mount the phone sits slightly higher than the screen.

Great video. Maybe after they see your video they will pre drill it to go either way.

Hi Dave, thanks mate. It's doable but probably a cost they wouldn't want to suffer with re tooling maybe, just for the Zumo XT users. But food for thought 👍

Good info there. Not a T7 owner but appreciate the insight anyway. How big is your garage ? Looks deeper than a normal 2 car setup, V nice 👍

Hi Robert, can get a small car and two bikes lengthways ... JUST!

I just fitted the same plate to my T7 but I wanted my Speedo on the right hand side so I redrilled one hole for the speedo and put two p clamps at the top to mount the gps bar through

That's awesome mate, love how we all make these T7's our own by individualising them.

I know it probably won’t help most, but with 20/25mm bars risers there’s plenty of space.

IT DOES HELP cheers, yeh a consideration if I want to increase the gap more. I might do it at some point. CHEERS 🙂
