What setting did you use for the ski trainer 🤔What was the setup for concentric and eccentric? Thanks.
I use constant mode as it is closest to replicating a traditional machine.
Very nice thank you very much 😊
You're very welcome 🤗
Foo hurry up with the squat rack.
I love HIIT workouts and also tabata ones
Awesome 😎. Glad to hear that ☺️
@@AdaptToPerform not sure if your familiar with coach Paul Eugene but he does really good wheelchair videos so besides your channel I follow Paul as well cause he makes sure everyone is included whether your disabled or not he always has stuff for everyone

Best I've ever had!
you are super
Thank you very much 🙏
Thanks for these exercises for lats. After my SCI my spine curved. I am doing exercises from you for my shoulders & they are having a great effect. I'm thinking strengthening my lats will help reduce my spine curvature.
Strengthening all available muscles is usually my advice 👍
Thank you.
No worries ☺️
This was so beautiful thank you so much for sharing this video and I happy everyone found what works for them, and it definitely motivated me to make things happen now for myself and love myself more. ❤️ Ben keep doing great things.
wow this workout really pushed me, thank you!
You're so welcome! 🤗
I'm using the chair when I leave the house. I'm grateful it's not full time as I live in a very inaccessible apartment. When I moved in I was was totally on feet time. Now I get anywhere from 20 min (total) on a not great day to upwards of maybe a hour, broken up. I'm very glad to have found you. I've gotta get some exercise that is more than arm training. Before the car accident I was in the gym 3-4 days a week. When you were saying 'don't fall off, don't fall off...' I was chuckling. Mine is 'don't fall over, don't fall over. Because of my knees and my hips, sometimes I'm not terribly stable on my feet. If I moved my foot the wrong way, just a couple of inches the 'wrong way' it can throw my whole body off. That happened tonight standing at the counter. All I did was move my heel - slightly - so I could put something in the trash. My equilibrium 'shifted' and I was thinking 'don't fall over' as I was simultaneously looking for something to grab onto. Oy. So I'm gonna give this a whirl. I've gotta start slow, and that's ok... Cheers.
Great work out I lift weights 💪 and even I found this hard 💪 but so worth it
Thank you, you have a great personality for this practice! Loved it.
Wheelchair
Hi there! I've been following your videos for many years and always found them really helpful. But a few weeks ago I pulled my latismus dorsi muscles on both sides but much worse on the left. It's so painful and it has affected my arm movement, triceps and grip. I'm in bed at the moment and waiting on an u!ultrasound. I'm assuming this injury is pretty common. Have you ever come across it before? I'm a C6 but this injury has made me more like a C5.
I'm done giving my money to these therapist that just want to rush their job and get stuff done instead of educating and sharing a little bit of their knowledge to make us exercise better you make it seem easy because you're in a chair yourself I've been in a wheelchair since 2006 and been trying to find a routine that I could follow every day to get better at my daily stuff that I need to do on my own for when I don't have no one and I have to say after doing your workouts and the stick workout is my favorite their stuff that I could not do without using the stick and now I can and I'm getting stronger and these challenges I love them too dude you're the man Big Ups to you cuz you're doing it and all people could do is respect😊❤
More than happy to help you out my friend 👍 If you need anything else please reach out
Interesting take. I feel like you skipped over a lot of the pros and cons of doing super sets, would have appreciated a deeper dive into the different aspects of why you would choose them and when.
The main thing is for time efficiency because you can do your session in a much shorter time frame, however it does increase the intensity and complexity of a workout which is why I say it's not for beginners. With these fitness explained videos I don't want to go into massive detail but enough for someone who's just beyond that beginner level looking for more information. I'll bare your comments in mind for upcoming videos (I have quite a few planned and some already filmed)
I'm currently suffering SIJ pain and can't do lower body exercise at the moment. I may not be in a wheelchair but this is helping to keep my fitness levels good so I can continue to advance my career in scuba diving. Thank you so much!
I'm glad I can help 😄
This made me e laugh so much. It's EXACTLY the way I think, too. The "do not fall off" was especially hilarious. Thanks for the laugh, Ben!!!
No worries happy to provide a few laughs
This is soo helpful. I love that I’m able to do an exercise that’s calming and focused on feeling uplifted and good in my body. Being disabled you can feel really defeated sometimes with exercise, especially when most exercise is made to be about treadmills and gym memberships. It’s nice to get a good stretch and end up feeling good and not in pain because I’ve pushed myself too hard. Plus it really helps with anxiety. Thank you!
I'm so happy to hear this thank you for letting me know it really helps motivate me to make more like this!
Where do you get the cuffs with the hooks? I have a buddy that lost both arms from the elbow down- this would be perfect!!!
Google active hands co 🙌🙌
thanks, bud, for the ideas. I have one arm I had more nerve damage. So, right side is very strong C7 with some finger hand movement. The left I can't even rotate the wrist and forearm, so I have to do completely different workouts for each arm. And the best way to work them together for me is simple lean over and push up real slow. Make each push up take 30 to 40 seconds, to get good time tension and feel it. Or just other body weight lifts. I hope to add bands soon to try focus on triceps.
That's exactly the adapt to perform spirit! We've all got different situations and abilities I just hope to give you some tools to succeed.
@@AdaptToPerform Hey bud as you know, we overuse our muscles to a degree when we can't access others. I get knots in my arms, tried heat and stretching. A lot of time I just have to get a lidocaine shot in the muscle. Have you found any other way of helping knots. If not, its np just was wondering. thank
Respect bro
What are your thoughts on isometric holds with no weights or bands for weak triceps?
I talked about this in my previous video I always try to get quads to implement this to see if we can get them firing also with eccentric training too
Nice setup! The hi/low sink counter and the shelf below the oven were new to me.
Im a wheelchair user but my shoulder injuries are mostly from throwing newspapers for many years and a cervical spine injury (i compensated with my shoulders). Physical therapy helped for 15 years until recently. Now i think its torn beyond PT. Im worried about being able to transfer myself after surgery
I don’t go to the gym but if I want to do any physical activity I need to estimate how much energy it will take out of me and whether or not I have more urgent things to get done. When I do, I have to find a workout that won’t immediately render me unable to move at all, allow enough rest time, make sure I’m prepared for if I pass out and the inevitable factor that despite all this planning, I’ll still be out of service for a week at times 😅
Pretty sure I got a runner's high on minute 36 or 37. First time I've felt that since my injury! Woo! Great video
Yay 😊 that's great to hear 😊
Hey Ben, 72 exAllAmerican and I became a para at 58. Too much contact to my spine. Then 4 years ago more issues w my heart and cardiac vessel disease. This is great I do exercises w you three times a week the rest of the week is gym and recumbent biking around the shoreline in SC. USA. This is a fantastic work out. THANK YOU! You are saving my life.
Hey Brian, glad I could help you out with these workouts. Keep up the great work. It sounds like you're doing all the right stuff to keep yourself going. If you need any help or advice just reach out to me 🙏
Great! Just what I need. Thank you.
No worries ☺️
What do you do that your chair doesn't move? My chair moves if I use a cable machine
Depends on the exercise. I have very good brakes which solves most of the issues but if I need extra help I put a weight plate either in front or behind my wheel (also depends on angle)
great stuff
No worries 🙂
Morning routine
tank you so so much!! ❤
My pleasure ☺️☺️
Do you have any wheelchair videos for a cardiac session using the ski erg? Are there different variations for working your muscles?
I do but they are all currently on my membership site. There I have a group of programs called skierg sessions. Which is three volumes of 8 weeks each. I may in the future pop one of the workouts from that program on here. But it's not currently in my near future lineup of videos as I have other things to focus on first.
Thank you for this cardio information. I need to do this. Did you say you had a link to more info on understanding calorie burning as a wheelchair user?
I'm glad you enjoyed the information! With the calorie counting explanation I filmed it but in the edit I realised I had a better approach so I want to redo it to present the information much more clearly. Stay tuned!
I do this routine almost every day as a warm-up before another longer video. My heart rate increases and my muscles wake up. My physical limitations prevent my arms from reaching high but I do my best and appreciate your encouragement. Thank you.
That's great to hear I'm so glad I can help you
Thank you so much for your motivational videos!!!
No worries. Happy to help 🙂
please make a vid on to get up from lying posture being a quad.
Sounds good I'll add it to my list
Thank you
No worries 🙂
Fun review, quite honest. However 4 years later the new plane friendly lightweight Power Chairs are way superior. Seems it has similar issues with Smart Drive... Hard and expensive to repair (deliberately so). On a larger scale, but still under 22" wide are mobility scooters that can carry groceries, even a passenger. Many varieties, but the triporters can do 20 mph (restricted) and still turn on a small area. The hand controls are very user friendly as well, and of course some models are stable even with 500 pounds. It pays to shop around 😊
Yes technology in this area is moving fast. I have a Triride now and I use it way more even when traveling.
Probably should have looked in the mirror at my collar for that intro! Check out the discount here: www.adapttoperform.co.uk
How about a series on nutrition and bowel programme issues
As an ex College AllAmerican in the 70’s, this HIIT wheelchair workout is the best. Cardio, flexibility and upper strength. I bike and golf using adaptive gear. THANK YOU! I have a bad left shoulder, but I do what I can. Wipes me out. Love it. THANK YOU
Thanks for sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Check out this video for shoulder health czcams.com/video/59LBfrvGyJg/video.html
