When it comes to chest workouts for wheelchair users, it's essential to focus on exercises tailored to our unique needs and abilities. Understanding how to exercise the chest - known as the pectorals or "pecs" - works is key.
    Let's delve into the muscle:
The Pectoralis Major, a substantial muscle covering much of the chest area, plays a pivotal role in movements involving pushing and drawing the arms towards the body's midline, while its smaller counterpart, the Pectoralis Minor, situated beneath it, works with the pec major and provides essential stabilisation to the shoulder blade.
These muscles aren't just about looks; they're vital for everyday activities such as pushing, pulling, and lifting objects. Strengthening them not only enhances upper body strength but also fosters better posture and shoulder stability.
For wheelchair users seeking to optimise their chest workouts, it's crucial to identify exercises that effectively target these muscles while accommodating our unique mobility needs.
In this video, I'm excited to share a curated selection of exercises specifically tailored to empower wheelchair users in building chest strength and enhancing overall upper body functionality. Let's embark on a journey towards a stronger, more resilient physique together.

I have a bar on the back of my chair, and it stops me going right back to the back rest. It means that the handles are a bit too far back, annoying!

I have the bar too. The handles being back means you do get that stretch phase in easier. Or take the pin out of the stack so it's super light, then push the handles away and put the pin back in so there's a gap between the weight plate. That way you can reach back and get the initial push easy. Hopefully that makes sense!

@AdaptToPerform Yeah, that makes sense, i didn't even think about that 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
