when i type "netsh int ipv4 set subinterface "Ethernet" mtu=1492 store=persistent" it tells me "Element not found"

I have fast internet. When I ran the netsh command it showed my mtu was already at 1500. I guess this is why I get the speed I am supposed to. Also, the ping command showed that this is the correct setting for me.

I had windows for a while years ago. I installed it with promises of it working better, with no crashes. My experience was very similar to yours. Where I did learn a lot using the operating system, and I accepted that I would have to learn how to do things differently, the one thing i learned was that Linux was not better, or worse then Windows. The same issues I had with Windows, I had with Linux, with one major difference. Windows was easier to trouble shoot, as the Linux forums were not always great. I got far with Linux, understood how to install things, how to use it, and it was my one and only operating system for a while. But the fact that I did not find it worked any better, smoother, or more reliable then windows, caused me to go back to windows, as everything on windows is just better in my opinion, since it's all just right there. I couldn't justify hunting down drivers for an operating system that had the same problems windows did.

Windows 11 is a bug in itself

MS do extended support for a long time provided you can pay! For example Windows 7 Embedded. From what I read MS ended extended support for that OS just last year. People who live in San Francisco/Bay Area/and tourists might be interested as the BART Clipper Card machines still run on that OS. So unless Microsoft made some special exception for BART, support for those machines ran out last year. Whether this is a big risk or not I have no idea but the machines accept cash and credit cards.

Windows 11 is garbage I went and got a new hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10 and I'm completely happy.

The big problem with Windows 11 workarounds is that they may only work for a short period of time. Microsoft could release a Windows 11 update at any time that can stop support on an unsupported Windows 10 PC. If you really want to stay supported, you will be forced to purchase a new PC if your Windows 10 PC does not meet Windows 11 minimum requirements. Or, download the zero patch Windows Update scanner, if you still want or need to use Windows 10. If you still want to keep Windows 10, and your machine does not meet Windows 11 requirements, downloading Zero Patch is your best option.

Anti Virus does not patch anything! It only acts as a shield to attempt to stop malware on your system. Success is a 60/40 to 50/50 shot. Microsoft Windows Update and companies like Zero Patch will actually patch security holes in the opertaing system. It are these patches, and practicing smart computing that keeps users safe.

It did not work as you said. I got all the way up to the installation of Zorin and then everything ground to a halt. I got a blank Ubuntu screen. Nothing further happened! It just stalled. No on-screen prompts. Your instructions just went off into the weeds. So I uninstalled everything.

Perhaps people who have specific software that doesn't run well on Linux(and unsupported hardware) will need to go with a dual boot approach, keeping windows 10 for those specific applications (and disabling their network adapters) and using some Linux distribution to do the daily internet stuff (safely with no built-in ads, no computer resource hogging, etc)

Who cares about updates and support. Besides having 3 versions of Linux I still have Windows xp,7 and 10 for limited use. Linux Mint is my dally driver. Microsoft is a terrible company and when you use a pc you are really on your own anyway because if you are not aware of what you’re doing you will get messed up no matter what you use.

ive been wanting to upgrade my ram from 8gb to 16 since that's all my all in once pc can take, sometimes when i use Davinci and try to import videos it takes a while even when i use google chrome to watch youtube the videos lag, iam currently using cape cut which the importing wait and exporting wait is about the same as Davinci, i just hate waiting when i don't have to and i have seen 16 gb of ram on crucial and amazon for around 40 bucks so i wouldn't be spending that much for ram!
