Looks like the mayor is more crooked than the road that’s going through your property!

While I stressed in the past that the city is following Tennessee law with how it is handling the eminent domain lawsuit, I do agree the mayor is corrupt with this conflict of interest. He should have abstained from any voting or decision as to the route. Keep digging and you may have a right to take challenge.

They offered you half a million dollars and you refused it. You paid 350k two years ago. Quit being so greedy. Once you agree you get the half million.

You guys didn’t even own that property when the route was approved, you bought the property without having a site survey conducted which would have resulted in the discovery of the plans for the destruction of the home. I’m not in favor of eminent domain at all but had your family done their due diligence prior to buying the home the this wouldn’t be an issue. Which is why I am guessing no lawyer will touch this case. That and the fact that you refused multiple offers and refused to submit any property appraisals when asked for them.

Sold interest for $0??? I dont think that is even legal as far as "consideration" goes. That is why even when you "give" a car away, such as when a parent gives to their child, it gets listed as $1.00 or something menial like that, but with actual value. And I'm not a lawyer, but officials have stated in order for transfers to be legal, they must have a value for consideration. So $0 sounds hinkey. Like mafia level action.

I'm really not trying to be ugly! There are so many questions/comments that have already been answered in previous videos. The good ol boy family name mentaility in Pigeon Forge is off the chain. We all know they knew exactly what they were doing. Saving the Wear family campground. They will try to wear you down and this could take years to finish but keep on it and you will pretty much own this little town one day. They will have no choice but to settle as they got terrible advice from their attorney.

I hope your claim wins. Signing over property for $0 seems like a quick claim deed. Families do that all the time. If it is documented when there was a vote, you can have your atty subpoena the records and if date does not coincidentally match a city hall meeting and advance notice to all parties involved then that is not protocol. WHY DOESN’T YOUR MOTHER OR YOU HAVE AN ATTY?? You just don’t want one? I don’t understand because an injunction or process would have been in place to not have your house bulldozed. I’d have your atty request documentation from the road commission as well seeing dates and authorization. Good luck on your verbal talks but at the city hall but as you see now you have to pay the mortgage. Did they think you abandoned the property? Did you have a chg of address. The appraisal for this is very extensive considering more than just a house but risks to environment etc and should have been given to you if you paid for that to represent your interest so you have standing in court you were given an offer you had that is taken in consideration from an appraisal right? I think you made an investment and lost. First of all the mayor doesn’t have anything to do with the way the state engineers the highway . Second if they don’t have to involve water with the EPA then why would they? Third if the mayor had interest in that campground why would he give up his interest and lose instead of you? You I wanted to have them plow a campground but not your house. 4th paying you for your house was probably Cheaper than paying for a camp ground. You made a bad investment, point blank period. I bet when you did all the work to the house you never got any permits either. Eminent domain is what is good for the people but you don’t want to give up your “investment property” over taking a campground away with kids and families and now you cry to the people to take your side but you don’t want to do what was best for the community as a whole in the first place. You don’t even live in that state, you live in Ohio. Those people live there. You lost, it’s not personal it’s business and now you’re crying.

It’s a sad day when the government can take something from us with no consequences. I know you might not say, but I would love to know what it is located near. This is probably only the beginning. That’s why it’s a good idea never to take a “hand out” from the government because they can take it back and more any time they want. Im not saying you did, but just in general it’s not a good idea. Sounds like a lawsuit to me. Since the mayor is involved you would need to take it to the State level.

I had to check for myself and YUP - his entire page seems to have vanished. I saved some of his posts and when I went to look at them it says that the privacy settings have changed and it’s unavailable. So he didn’t delete his page but he did go radio silent and full stealth mode on us 😂😂😂 If he had an X account he has since deleted it

What happened is unfair and unfortunate. However, not making the mortgage payment (yet) is something you can remedy. From what I’ve gathered, this was to be a vacation home and not your primary residence. So you had planned to make a payment on it before it was taken by government. Again, what happened is so unfair and it’s something I worry about happening to my family. But if you have a primary residence and you had planned to make a payment on this particular house, then keep making the payments until the government makes it right. Don’t compound the problems.

If a public vote isn't necessary, why did thy have the first vote?
