Instead the path of the road was diverted, not a path skirting the property line between hers and the camp ground but through her house. She had purchesed the house to be a rental property which is zoned for commercial. Commercial property is valued much higher than residential due to the potential revenue. While an offer of $500K is more than her purchased price, it does not cover the loss of potential revenue. Asking for several million as just compensation is not unreasonable, considering the deceptive and corrupt Good Ol' Boy practices of the city's mayor and city council. I recall a story out of Tennessee where a group of WWII veterans recently returned from war in the late 1940s took back the town from its corrupt town government by force. It seems Tennessee has not yet shed its propensity for corrupt town and county governments. There is also Institute of Justice that handle your type of issue on a federal level. Praying that God will restore what was stolen from you in the name of Jesus. Just wait a crash is coming and who knows maybe you will own one of the mayor's properties cheaply one day.
