Pretty impressive list. Personally one movie that my aunt recommended to me and I said yeah the movies of your generation might not be that scarring and then was left scarred was by "Devaraagam" starring Aravind Swamy and Sri Devi in lead roles. Will definitely think twice before watching it again.

Among the malayalam movies in this list, for me Thaniyavarthanam is far more distubring than Thanmatra.. Thanmatra has alzheimers which is a natural disease. However Thaniyavarthanam shows how superstitions and the people around him (even his students), turned his life from being a normal school teacher to a mentally ill person.

But these lead men never play their age. We still do have hrithik beig 50 playing a charcter who is 30 years old. Aging is very natural. Aging naturally is a talent. More than anything i think its sad that srk or hrithik do not want to age and insist on being stuck in an amber of being ageless. The saddest of all this is Rajkumar. I miss the normal human charm he had.

Watch this 1991 Marathi movie called Chaukat Raja starring legendary actors like Dilip Prabhavalkar and Ashok Saraf. I wouldn't call it a disturbing movie but a few scenes are difficult to watch. Hats off to Dilip Prabhavalkar for pulling off such a difficult role.
