After Sri devi and juhi chawla I always admire kareena for her comedy timing and sense of humor. Tabu's comic timing was a surprise for me

Common...tabu and her comic timing? Yeh alone held up bhool bhulaiya 3 & unfortunately kartik got all the limelight. In kutte also she delivered the best. Hera pheri. Chachi 420. She is such a badass with comic roles.

I think Marathi film industry is nailing the 'female centric' movie genre and audience is supporting it. Last year 'Baipan Bhaari Deva' staring old and middle aged women did almost 90 crore business in only 1 state. I doubt 'Crew' will match these number.

Baipan only worked because they chose a topic that was relatable to more women like Mangalgaur. It did not develop characters properly, the 40 to 50 year old women acted like petulant teenagers and the only saving grace of the film was the relationship between Rohini Hattangadi and her husband. They were both phenomenal not even Vandana Gupte who's a great actress could actually pull off her annoying character. She wasn't loveable at all she was just annoying.

These three were a riot. . What I liked was the camaraderie and easy flowing conversations they had.Tabu and Kareena were fire with their witty one liners and Kriti too held her own amidst these two. But the scene stealer were Trupti Khemkar and Garima 👏👏 i laughed out loud on each of Garima's scenes.
I could not stop laughing at Garima hating each drink! It was hilarious!
Lootcase was an amazing fun film.... obviously that director's film will be amazing
The three women were an absolute riot particularly Kareena and Tabu. Their comic scenes were too good. The chemistry was absolutely crackling

A female orientated comedy movie I would recommend watching is Magalir Mattum (1994). Revolving 3 women deciding to gang up on their lecherous boss who constantly harasses them.
Great cast, diaglous and acting.😊
Yes, the best part of the movie was the corpse acting by veteran Tamil film comedian Nagesh Sir. Kamal Hassan plays a cameo in the end.
If I remember correctly, Magalir Mattum was remade in Bangladesh as well. The film was called 'Palabi Kothay' and some of the best Bangladeshi actors were part of this film. One of the songs from this film titled 'Jadu re shona re, o khukumoni re, amake bhalobaso re' became an industry hit and the movie also received a cult-like following in Bangladesh.
Magalir mattum was an adaptation of Hollywood film 9 to 5. You should check that too.
P.S - 9 to 5 was remade in Hindi too...hello darling. Please don't watch that.

Tabu is so versatile i can't emphasize enough on it. She makes you want to consider watching all the movies shes a part of. I still feel she hasn't gotten her due yet given the talent she possesses but someday we will see a banger of a movie which is solely led by Tabu.
Well said ! As much as everyone praises her I always feel that it isn’t enough for what she has offered to the film Industry overall. It’s high time people start recognizing underrated pioneers of talent. Even this time I felt the credit is mostly given to Bebo and Kriti rather than on holistic basis
Bebo is also talented and versatile and she was best in her comedic scenes, stop trying to steal her credit by trying to put the shine on Tabu. We already know about Tabu, it’s not necessary to “defend” her just because someone else shone. That’s just silly 🙃

Kapil Sharma is a surprisingly good actor. I wish he would explore more character driven roles instead of just doing stand up comedy.

People get offended when women drink or swear or talk about sex or private body parts etc. While men are forgiven for the same and lot worse. So filmmakers have to restrict themselves a lot when making movies with female lead. Many don’t want to do it for the same reason. Men can wear oranges for breasts but can women do the same slapstick comedy.
Movie critics should go beyond comparing male and female movies and see what is the difference in public viewing female lead and male led movies.
Women can also make masala action movies 😂

For me, I think Phoebe Waller-Bridge really shines as a performer and writer. Fleabag and Killing Eve is still one of my favorites. Sadly, we don't hv someone like her in Hindi Cinema who's making something like Fleabag.

I mean, we probably do have many talented female writers and comedians like that all over India, but perhaps they're not being given the opportunity to showcase that talent. If they offer a script, it could easily be rejected under the assumption that it's not what the audience wants.

Rhea Kapoor has good sense of music, ever since Aisha. N her movies might not be amazing but fun one time watches. At least she tries to make something fun with women characters.
its a fun one time watch yes. I felt however with the music in this film, they just remade already popular bangers and classics. Veere Di Wedding had better music
I really liked Aisha. For me way better than this film!
I was confident about the film, due to the makers of Lootcase being involved, even in that film, there were loopholes but this time they just took creative liberty and pushed it up to 11. The whole Kingfisher storyline could have the most innovative jokes but they just gave it the "Happy New Year" treatment. Although it's still a good one time watch and the comparison with 4 more shots is just lame.
100% : The real events could have really extracted so many gags especially when you have such talented actors at your disposal. Its still a fun ride but you think about the potential!
I enjoyed Crew!!!!on a Friday 3pm show, theater was almost full in USA..that shows everyone is interested in this genre!!!more such movies please without false feminism!!!bring it on!!!

Totally agree with your review. Saw the movie last night.. the trailer was better than the whole movie.. they shouldn’t have spent time on their personal lives.. like even the grandfather passing away seen.. was it needed? It spoilt the mood of the film.. haven’t seen lootcase.. but this did have a great premise and could have been as mad as Delhi Belly! The choli ke peechhe background score was really good.. all the actresses played their part really well.. they all looked super! Kapil sharma could have got a better role .. all in all good watch..

Hindi CInema in terms of female representation is far ahead of many industries I must say. Tamil and Malayalm films have been killing it too regarding the same. Marathi cinema as well

10 years down the line this film will be remembered as the ‘female Hera Pheri’. Unpopular opinion, Hera Pheri was a good one time watch but was not the funniest entertainer of all time the critics make it out to be. Even 3 Idiots had double meaning jokes, but nobody created a fuss, and everybody in the theatres laughed out loud, so why this selective criticism now.

Hera Pheri is a remake of a malayalam movie. Agreed that Hera Pheri might be a one time watch. But the original is not. I know Hindi and Malayalam. So I know the pulse of both film industries and I can tell Hera Pheri is not even 10% of the original. It's iconic and it's a masterpiece. It's not a one time watch but a lecture of comedy films. The plot is same. But it's the direction, treatment of the premise, the acting and superior music that makes it iconic. It came during Malayalam industry's golden age.
Talking about Crew 1st half was good but 2nd half is completely shit. This is not a movie but a crossover 2 hours fashion brands ad. Whatever you say, Hera Pheri is much superior to this shit or above average movie.
I don't remember double meaning jokes from 3 Idiots though.

Hell, y’all have even turned her into a politician to rule over you even though she calls other actress porn stars, degrades them from heaven to earth with daily expletives for around 2 yrs on Alia especially but she gets to be indignant when called a name in return which was very befitting to her (based on her self admission of selling her body). Great that the 2 Bwood sons she sat her eyes on but tried to harm their careers kicked her cheap, disgusting arse to the curb, showing this Flop Queen her real place. Today, all the actresses whose careers she tried to harm are married with kids and have thriving careers while she does not know what to do with herself!

If we look at the two ratios of good male comedians in india and total male comedians and same for female artists it's more or less the same, and there's been significant improvement in indian female comics from past two years, so yeah I'm hopeful 👍🏻
I found the movie very very poorly written..the dialogues were a great example of lazy writing. Most importantly, it is a case of not taking anything seriously, the age jokes are so poorly placed...and everything was so unidimensional. The whole heist scene seemed like it was written by a primary school student who just saw Ocean's eleven😅
The film was good but all the punchline, the comic timing were already in the trailer so I was a bit disappointed nothing came as a surprise. I was hoping to have a laughter riot in the theater but most of us couldn’t, the movie was good the actresses were the best part but yes I wish they saved some of those comic timings for the theater 😔
The trailer was too long and revealing. That's why I didn't even finish watching it to keep some fun for later.

Parts by parts movie felt pacy, engaging. No where it looked dragged. 2hrs 5 mins was good, entertaining. But overall premise will not be worth remembering. This is the movie which u watch and forget it.

I watched this movie at a full house theater in Reading Uk , and the whole cinema was in splits . Best experience since pandemic when it comes to movies .
I just watched the movie and to be completely honest, the plot and dialogues were weak. You have such talented actors and you couldn’t give them good punch lines. For a comedy heist film, I swear I only laughed 4 times. The audience around me didn’t even laugh. Loved how the actresses looked and you can see that they really tried but the dialogues let them down.
I second this 100%. You’ve got such talented actors at your disposal and the writing just didn’t pack the punch for a full on entertainer!
I am not surprised that Tabu aces it. Tbh, I'd be surprised if she did not.
Watched for Tabu, The Trio’s chemistry was a surprise, They blend and complement eachother so well. Of course Kareena’s unapologetically confident as Jasmine, Kriti’s great at playing Divya Rana and Tabu’s comedic timings and dialogue delivery serves as usual. Supporting cast is awesome, Tracks are fun, Being a family entertainer I think “Crew” does well for its respective Genre. ❤ Trio is the Highlight!
I think the movie was ok but it could’ve have been way better and they could’ve used Daljit and Kapil way better. It was a fun movie but if they used Daljit and Kapil properly the humour could’ve been on different level but I do understand if the did that it would’ve stolen the spotlight form the trio which the makers didn’t wanted.

I had so much fun at the cinemas after so long. It was so funny, and comical. Plus the actors looked sooo good! They were style really well. I wasnt expecting some depth in story and heartwrenching character arc. Just a fun, lighthearted watch! Total paisa vasool.

Tabu is definitely ‘ GOAT’ in a league of her own
Refer to pakistani serials to watch how great comedians women can be. I highly recomend Azhar ki ayegi barat( Bushra Ansari) and Suno chanda( Nadia Afgan) among many. Also Jamini Das in Sui dhaga and Haseen dilruba are my fab.

Fleabag, the marvelous mrs. Maisel are my top comic series. Interestingly the series are comic because they are female lead centric. Mostly in Bollywood female centric comic moveis, I find it is shoved down that because there are females it's funny

I think the crime comedy genre has been pulled off effortlessly by directors like Venkat Prabhu (I'm still saying that apart from Maanaadu, Mankatha, Chennai 600028 1st and 2nd part, Masss, Biriyani with Karthi has still got great re-watch value).Waiting for GOAT 🙌🙌 or Kartik Subbaraj with Pizza, Jigarthanda-1, or even Malayalam films like Tharangam, Nadodikattu, Pattana Pravesam comes close in that genre

I was waiting Madgaon Express to end even before interval. I found it such bland. Anything is happening anytime and too that smoothly. I think me and my friend are one of those few people who thought how Kunal Khemu convinced everyone to do that film. It was a torture. I hope Crew won't disappoint me 😢😢

I was sceptical of going to watch this because the trailer gave away most of the story, but after the watching it I realised it gave away most of first half story which was predictable while second half was surprisingly entertaining and unexpected. Also I've seen in many scenes Kareena and kriti almost trying to smile during serious scenes😅
I liked this one. It was funny.. We need more funny woman comedy. This was not that toxic feminist type also..
Then you will find Tillu square much more. It has quite funny one liners as well.

Movie was a good watch. Gals have done superb job. Since there isn’t any chance for any male counterpart to hog the limelight, the gals took the movie on their shoulders pretty nicely. My only problem has been the cinematic liberty the makers have took to look everything easy peasy while cracking the suite of one of the richest person. Also, the houses never looked middle class on any given instances. Peeche ghar itna bada hai toh ek gold ring ko girvi rakhna looked hilarious. May be that too was intentionally done to look comic, but it was off for me😄😄🤣

This in a nutshell was a much awaited movie but it eventually turned out to be a crap and boring shit. Moreover the punches shown in the trailer are the only punches in this movie!

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie to be honest. I think everyone did a good job. From the main cast to all the supporting actors.
In search of jee le zara, we found Crew. Coming from Netflix after enjoying crew, it is a fun one time watch, the girls are so freaking gorgeous. I knew kareena would carry a comedy role easily but Tabu n kriti were bombs too. Loved all of them❤
SRidevi was the only top notch Indian actress that was the best comedienne, fun, graceful, pretty, hot and the list goes on.. After her, wE never had anyone like her ever ...Ruling mostly all the famous Indian Film Industry solely base on her talent !
