  • It is a very interesting to observe what is going on with respect to #bollywood and its opportunities that it offers. Is it based on talent? Is it based on someone's commercial pull or is it simply based on their surname! With #heeramandi and the criticism it is receiving and many upcoming projects with the future lying in the hands of actors like #saraalikhan #janhvikapoor #ananyapandey #varundhawan and #arjunkapoor : Will Bollywood survive in the next few years? I hope you like the Bollywood Nepotism Vs Opportunity Crisis

    Arjun Kapoor is such a strange option that bollywood keeps pushing. He has never improved in a decade. He can't emote, can't dance, lacks charisma, doesn't seem very hardworking, doesn't have some distinct looks, the guy barely even cares about his fitness unlike the other nepos. Yet he keeps getting leading man roles and those films keep being flops. The audience has never really connected to him ever and I have never heard anyone say 'I want to really watch that film because Arjun Kapoor is there'. Arjun Kapoor really is a mystery to me. Must be among the worst nepo products bollywood ever churned out because he keeps getting backed by big production houses.

      Stars pull more numbers than a random, so it’s a safe bet. Movies are a business after all. Not to mention, their family might be involved in the production costs, so it’s basically upto them. It’s their wish as they are the ones taking the risk.

    • @npapyr
      @npapyr Před 28 dny +187

      @Maadhara Bollywood can try to pretend like Arjun Kapoor is a star. He has never shown any star qualities and he isn't some box office pull either. He is a guaranteed loss of investment. I mean he has been in industry since what 12 years now? What exactly does he brings to the table? How is he bankable in any way? I'm thinking this has something to do with money laundering.

    • @Maadhara
      @Maadhara Před 28 dny +23

      @@npapyr bro, they aren't making movies to please people 😅, they make movies to benefit themselves. Whether people accept or not, that's the way it is. People may hate it, but like I said, they aren't there to prove anything, profit or loss, it's upto them. Yup, the money laundering could also definitely be a reason. So basically expecting them to pick people based on talent is pointless in a industry that's there to make money.

      the place where caste system and mere business pe baad me beta/ beti baithega differs from film industry is that its a bigger business, and shops that dont run automatically divert the consumer to other shops. but when the head owner of all shops is 5/6 big people they will shove the same products in the shop instead of checking if better products or better salespeople are possible. variation happens when everyone can produce a film, but when talented scriptwriters, big budget funders only support certain people as kinda bankable, then their value increases even if they're not worthy or talented. it creates the illusion that this actor is successful. while talented actors are left aside or work as second leads to worthless trashy actors.

    I believe problem is not with creators problem is marketability of an actor or actress. Unknown actor/actress are not simply marketable (according to producers). Having known family connection actor/actress can help you market a movie or series pretty effectively. One starkid can promote another starkids movie/show and that creates word around social media. If it’s not a box office number then producers will show numbers of social media reach to investors in order to get backing for next project until one day actor/actress will get box office return or desired ott watching and cycle will continue. Having social media reach helps them with brand endorsements so they bring back production money before the release. As long as people following celebrities, watching their content, sharing their content, interacting with their content and watching their fims/series it’ll keep on happening.

    It's not about who comes from big families...it's more about who have better connections with big shots, more active on social media apps and good PR..Kriti is getting films after films, whereas Saiyami Kher hardly gets films despite being a nepo kid...same goes for Abhay Deol and Sidharth Malhotra also...

    Did Uday Chopra act in any movies outside of YRF? I don’t think he was stealing anyone’s opportunity… those movies were made for him barring Dhoom Series maybe. He was just wasting his dad and bro’s money and giving other people … like cast and crew work through those movies. If you think about it, he was generating opportunities for others 😅

    I have a sincere request. 8am Metro is finally coming to OTT on Zee 5 from the 10th of may. It had a very small theatrical release last year. It wasn’t reviewed by many people who usually review films, including yourself, so please do try to find the time and review it 🙂. It has Saiyami and me. This is just a request 🙂

    How does it happen that we frown upon nepotism in entertainment & film industries but not in our national politics??? 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Much needed video very well explained , how a mediocre actor gets chance after many flops and bad acting performances as well on the other hand a great after 1 or 2 flops gets no chances despite having good performances
