APDTY 711345 PTO PTU AWD Power Take Off Unit Upgraded w/ Heat Shield, Drain & Fill Plugs, & Seal
If you need a PTO on the models below, this is it!
APDTY-711345 - amzn.to/3UQwjEv
APDTY-161466 PTO Seal - amzn.to/3uydz2c
Due to shipping requirements, this unit is shipped dry. Proper synthetic gear oil must be installed before use.
You should always check the seals for leaks. You should also check for any drivetrain vibration. Drivetrain vibration is a leading cause of seal failure, and seal failure is a leading cause of PTO failure. A leaking seal caught early can be replaced, preventing the expensive cost of a new PTO/PTU.
Compatible on models below without turbo engine & without tow package.

Remember if you live in a rut a couple days before soak everything down and some kind of oil spray and then get yourself a compressor and blow all the dirt off before you take the top of that tank apart. There’s gonna be rust particles mud dirt salt you gotta get rid of all that and then while you got the bed off, make sure that you do some rust Fix stuff under you know you got the bed off you Mazel fix everything while you’re there

Just did this on my 1997 C3500 truck. I was replacing all the steering components. I started out mounting the bracket first too, but I didn't want to try forcing the idler arm in, so removed the new bracket again, the loosely connected the idler arm to both the center link and the bracket, then pushed the bracket down in place on the frame. I was able to see inside the frame from the holes in the bottom toward the front to guide my socket extension. Dropped a bolt inside, but it wasn't hard to fish out with a little magnet extension. Don't forget to grease everything after install, that bracket took alot of grease to fill.

Well yeah on an old car I would change the condenser that does wear out since it is aluminum and like 200 plus psi for the better part of ten years? Forgot how old it is there. Tho doing that for years and years and years pretty sure it can do that too much anymore where it’ll not have good high side pressure anymore. The condenser is very important too in an ac system too the liquid refrigerants starts there I’d also check the fan too but usually that’s been replaced because it wears out more often because spinning. lol.

  • @Catchmeifyoucan209Stockton

Well from all the researh ive done i say you made 4 critical mistakes first you should of opened both valves on recovery tank if brand new to let the Nitrogen out that its shipped with. (Atmosphere is fine with nitro) second hooked a vacuum pump to the recovery tank and let that baby rip for about 30-60min to make sure its sucked of everything you can get. Think of it as you're the tank and best BJ ever didnt miss a drop. 😉 Next purge the hoses open valves up on manifold and recovery machine leave valve on tank closed then crack open the hose to tank fitting until you get refrigerent out then tight immediately. Finally only open the low side! Leave high side shut

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm not handy, nor good at car stuff, but I was able to accomplish this in just a few hours thanks to your thorough instructional video! Most difficult part was feeding the wire thru the rubber thingy, I used a cheap "drain snaker" wire. It took a lot of patience, but was ultimately successful! (My install was simpler, since I"m powering the cam out of the back 12v outlet instead of the dashboard one, which is packed with phone chargers). Just tucked the cables all the way back there. 10/10 and THANK YOU!!!

The O-ring is what failed on ours. that O-ring became dislodged and was poking out into the drain hole. I thought about doin this repair, and it probably works fine, but decided I didn't want to ever have this happen again, so we just upgraded to the 310.

We bought a 2020 camper a couple years ago and started getting this gross odor this year. I called Dometic and because we've had our camper for more than a year, they would only send the replacement seals for the 300 model. Going to do the replacement this week. But, I'm definitely going to caulk those seals in, so we don't have the same issue in a couple of years. Thanks for the video!

When I use one of those black rubber/aluminum seals on the top connection of my condenser, it fails spectacularly. You can literally see the gap at the top like it doesn't actually fit.

my dealer told me that they changed 4 bad rockers and it was still ticking and I looked at the valve covers and they never took them off. Still had original RTV sealant and dirt around it. I showed the manager said how did they do it when the valve covers were never taken off. There should be new RTv on a couple spots before the valve cover goes back on.
