I grew up in East Lansing just down the road from MSU, and I remember sneaking into Montie House back in high school to go see Grant DJ and he blew my mind back then when I was just getting into electronic music. I have so many awesome memories of seeing Grant play at Macs and around EL! He is def one of my biggest electronic influences to this day! Your music has only gotten better over the years and thank you so much for spreading such a positive message! You really are a hero to a lot of people, myself included, so thank you for being you! I went to see him as "Clockwork" back in early 2014 at EDC Mexico, maybe that was the set mentioned, he played a couple of his trap IDs and I remember being blown away by them, Tell me and Core where highlights at the time, so glad I got to see him at least as Clockwork :) it was mostly a trap/dubstep set with a sprinkle of big room after the first half hour lmao

I was at the 2020 Okeechobee show and it was a killer set! He calls out Nectar at one point right before he dropped, I think it was, Bass Head. Phuking sikkkkk

biggest name in dubstep? this isn't even dubstep music... excision came in when the UKF era came around and actual dubstep got hijacked into the edm sounding mess called brostep, lost all of its garage, 2 step and dub/dancehall roots and became a weak imitation from 15 year olds who never listened to a dubplate in their life the biggest names in dubstep are coki, mala, benga (DMZ) skream, kromestar, widdler, cluekid and loefah

Excision was one of my greatest idols and I’ll always appreciate his past and everything he has done buuuuuut I do NOT dig this new riddim sound he has created. Just my opinion. I know it’s crazy popular right now so maybe I’m missing something but to me there isn’t any unique character to individual songs in the genre. It all just kinda sounds the same.

I know Jesse personally and used to hangout with him allot when he lived on Temple campus. Most of what the narrator said here is true. Jesse is one of the hardest working DJs I've met even when he was nobody. Jesse doesn't lie albeit we parted ways because of some underlying philosophical differences. I haven't seen him in years but wish him the best and pray he finds himself.

It’s been on my mind a lot in recent years how trap was the biggest sound in underground edm at one point then it just seemed to completely fade with the emergence of all the dubstep. You hardly ever see a pure trap artist on lineups other than RL Grime, dude is holding it down 😩
