- Music venues play a vital role in how we experience live music. Concerts can create some of the most vivid memories we hold, and a proper setting is crucial to making those memories good ones. There are countless wonderful live music venues across the United States, and they all deserve to be celebrated. I certainly haven't been to all of the best venues in the United States, but I have been to a large number of them in nearly every region of the country. In this video I'll be highlighting my personal top ten favorite music venues in America. I do my best to remain objective, but I do save a little room for personal bias. Be sure to tell me about your favorites in the comments, and whether or not you agree with my top 10!

The Gorge in Washington! Can't believe that it wasnt mentioned...
I've never been :( These are just the best ones I've been to
@@audioeats GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Came here to say this definitely the best venue in my opinion
The Brooklyn Mirage is probably my favorite venue that I've been to. Great sound. Great views of the Manhattan skyline & the 200ft wide x 20ft tall LED screen is next level! The Armory in Minneapolis is another great venue! Great sound, a ton of bartenders so you're never waiting to buy a drink. I saw someone else mention it but The Eastern in ATL is really nice with the three floors. Great views from anywhere inside that venue. If I can include venue/campgrounds then Spirit of The Suwannee Music Park is probably my favorite venue. The natural amphitheater is great for the main stage. The venue is massive, has a diner, a general store, a beach on the Suwannee River & you can camp next to your car at no additional cost (unlike most festival campground/venues)
You putting the black box over every venue you’ve been to is crazy 😂😂😂
Black box whack as fuck tbh and I live 2 blocks from there
Black box is intimate as fuck and some people prefer that to others
Man I am so happy to see Marathon and Exit/Inn on this list! Two venues that are crucial to my live music history
I need to go back to Exit In sometime, I don't live there anymore but I miss those grungy vibes
The Caverns in Pelham TN is the best venue on the east coast. Total vibe and special atmosphere.
Capitol theatre and Meow Wolf NM are super dope as well.
Smaller venues like Kings Rook in Erie Pa and Thunderbird in Pittsburgh are must goto if your in WPA.
I definitely want to go to Caverns and Meow Wolf (NM and Denver). I used to live in Nashville and had tickets to VOYD at his first show at the caverns but forgot I was going out of town that weekend so I didn't get to go, and I still haven't been 🙁 It's insane how many electronic artists play there now, I definitely need to go
The north warehouse Portland Oregon is one of the best venues ever. 3 stages, one main room, one 360 annex stage and one outside stage all with their own theme and feel. Live art, a flow section, festivals level production and ofc the funkitrons. RIP to the best venue in Portland
Did it close down? I have a friend who lives in Portland and he also says that's his favorite
As someone who saw both Griz and Big Wild perform at a music festival last weekend, I really vibe with your taste in music 🤙
Appreciate it! Sounds like a fun festival!
You gotta come to my hometown (Grand Rapids, MI) and go to a show at The Intersection, which actually has four venues inside They do quarterly “Bass Country” shows where they open up 3 out of 4 of the stages and you get to roam from stage to stage like a festival. One stage is bass, one is experimental/downtempo and the other is usually house music.
4 venues in one sounds nuts! Didn't Deathpact play at the most recent bass country?
I did not expect the Ritz Ybor to be mentioned! That's where I've seen the majority of concerts since I started going in 2022. The Mid Florida Credit Union Amphitheater is also good, saw Odesza there last year, although electronic acts there are few and far between.
The Ritz is always a good time! Ybor gets kinda sketchy late at night though 😂
Ritz is my home venue, only issue I have with it is the sound quality is lacking compared to other venues I've been to, so many dead zones
@@davidvenafro1295 Yeah for sure, it's also just way too loud and sometimes distorted
glad your put black box in top
I love that place so much
@@audioeats mid at best
Bro I was at your first show at Marathon! 🤘😎🤘
Oh shit that's what's up!
Probably The Anthem in DC, 9:30 Club for the dc music experience, some would say echostage but they oversell and overpack the venue. For soundsystem and intimate setting, flash dc for sure but Franklin music hall in Philly is a really nice venue, and is a short drive from northern VA.
Culture in DC is great too. Echostage is S tier tho
1. Red Rocks
2. The Gorge
3. The Sphere
4. The Caverns
5. Madison Square Garden
I have experienced red rocks many times (4 times to be exact) and I’m only 15 and what he says is true so if you do go go for the middle to front if you want the front my strategy is to go to the upper south lot 2-3 hours early and wait in line It works perfectly if you pull it off
That’s classified lil bro
Radius in Chicago gotta be on this list. One of the best warehouses to party in. Easy access to bars & bathrooms, generally not oversold at all, great AC, great sound. Amazing vibe for house & techno shows.
I'll have to check it out sometime, I've never been to that venue
The Guild in Menlo Park, CA which opened in 2022 is probably the nicest small venue in the USA. Hope you have a chance to check it out.
Project concourse in Austin tx 🔥
I live in Denver so I'm biased, but you should definitely hit up Bass Canyon and Thunderdome. two great venues.
Both are definitely on my bucket list for sure
Red rocks will always be number 1 black box is great but… Red Rocks Bro! Crystal ballroom in Portland! A close 2nd
Brooklyn mirage in Brooklyn a solid tie for second for the vibes! And I have yet to go but the gorge is on the list of must dos
Red Rocks is incredible but I just wish the sound was better in the upper 2/3rds of the seats, still an insane venue though! Never been to Brooklyn mirage or the gorge but definitely need to sometime!
absolutely cracked to put the black box over red rocks.
Is that good or bad? Lol
Red Rocks is absolutely the best, followed by Mission Ballroom. I've been around. I will fight anyone over this.
I love Red Rocks and it's by far the most beautiful venue I've been to, but the sound quality definitely puts a bit of a damper on the experience for me, but it's also totally reasonable that the sound isn't top notch given the unique environment. Haven't been to Mission yet but I've heard really good things
Mission is absolutely incredible, I've been to hundreds of shows and dozens of festivals and I've never heard anything so perfectly dialed in.@@audioeats
@@audioeats Mission Ballroom is second to none in almost all aspects, I've been to hundreds of shows and dozens of festivals and I've never heard anything so incredible. Every single show is so perfectly dialed in.. Honestly when someone I want to see announces a show it's a pretty big bonus if it's at Mission, the only thing it has against it is lack of stuff to do immediately outside the venue, but its so easy to get in and out of it doesn't really matter.
As far as Red Rocks goes, rarely is the sound noticeably lacking imo, being directly in front or behind the sound stage is advisable. The vibes of the whole place are otherworldly, its a special kind of magic I've not experienced elsewhere and the artists know it resulting in very special shows.
Not mentioning the Gorge is crazy 😭😭
These are just my personal top 10 of venues I've been to, haven't been to the gorge yet 🫤
The gorge is the absolute best venue on the planet
Its not in the US, but my favorite venue is Shambhala in British Columbia. I live an hour from the Gorge Ampetheather, and while its a spectacular view...its got nothing on the feel of shambhala. Shambhala has some of the best practices for an edm festival. Free drug testing, harm reduction, amazing food, and an amazing staff crew. Never felt safer or more at home in a music environment🫶
I'd love to go to Shambhala, I've heard a lot of people say it's the best festival in the world
Mission Ballroom
I need to go sometime, I've heard it's great
Yeah, I love Marathon and I loved the International although, it got hot af in there.
It's great, some of the best shows I've seen were there
jewel music venue in manchester nh is my favorite venue
I need to check it out! Haven't been to New Hampshire yet
@@audioeats it’s a very nice state
Yeah it looks beautiful from all the pictures I've seen. I'm working on going to all 50 states and most of the ones I haven't been to are in the northeast so I need to road trip out there sometime soon
1:20 k?d
His lasers for that show were so sick
The eastern>the tabernacle
Haven't been there, I should check it out!
