  • For many people all over the world, the Christmas season is a magical time of year. Spending time with friends and family, making sugar cookies, and enjoying all of the festivities of the season. Oh, and getting blasted from every direction with rampant consumerism. It's no secret that Christmas is a big money maker, and artists have always looked to capitalize on the big bucks by releasing their own Christmas album, EP, or single. It's a strategy that has worked for ages, and has brought about countless iconic classics. It even works so well for some artists that their whole career begins to revolve around Christmas albums and Christmas tours. But when it comes to electronic music, not many people are hopping on the Christmas train. However, there are a handful of EDM pioneers who have dared to release Christmas music, and some have even done it quite well. Today we’ll be diving headfirst into the world of electronic Christmas music, exploring a few different bodies of work while I give my takes on each one.

Crowsnest Audio had some Christmas songs in 2019, so deathstep is represented in Christmas by Code: Pandorum himself, along with much of the label roster at the time. The highlight is probably Crimson Scar's Carol of the Bell cover or the TenGraphs Skullcracker song.

A few of my faves for the holidays: Producer Dojo: Krampus Cypher curated by Mufunka, Dubstep Christmas (Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy) by Vlad Solovjov, and there's a remix of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, (one of many), that I love, but cannot for the life of me find the artist who produced it.

      Glad you like them!
I haven't heard that name in forever! My friend showed me Lemonade after he heard it at Bonnaroo, I really like that song but I haven't heard anything else by them. I'm down to look more into them and see if I could make a video!

Yellow Claw has been releasing Christmas EPs for a couple years now, but it’s just some remixes of their songs adding a Christmasy feel

The first Kaskade Christmas album is better but the second one is also good. The first one blew me away so it'll be hard to beat

Yeah that's how I feel too, the second one has grown on me more, but it's hard to compete with the experience of hearing the first one for the first time
