This channel is a low budget, one man operation mostly about gaming, specifically analog hobby games like tabletop miniature wargames. And because I’m old and outdated, the games I play on this channel are often old and outdated as well. They are also dependent on me, a big ol’ introvert, finding opponents for them, which means sometimes games I really like won’t get videos for a long time because I can’t find other players.
I try to post stuff only about what I'm actually doing, not what I intend to do or might do. Once a year there will be a Halloween video.
As CZcams now runs ads in all videos, I monetized the channel in an attempt to limit the ads and get a share of what I can’t prevent.
Feel free to comment, like, share or subscribe. Or don't. I'm not here to tell you how to spend your time.
You can also look for me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. I'm not on those things, but you can still look.

Ghostbusters: The Board Game - Campaign 2 - The Idulnas Incursion - Scenario 1
There really is no telling what I'm going to be able to get to the table these days. Here I am, juggling half a dozen games (I will get back to Warhammer Quest, I swear) and the one I end up playing is one I thought would be on the shelf for a while.
But with the kids off school for the summer we broke out the old Ghostbusters: the Board Game by Cryptozoic Entertainment. The original four Ghostbusters are back and this time we're on the trail of the mysterious and fairly obscure third minion of Gozer, Idulnas. I think he's a character from the comics.
Anyway, the first sign that something is wrong comes in the form of the appearance of these "flank gates" in a local park. We have to close them, as usual, but they tend to make ghosts emerge from the spirit world right next to our Ghostbusters, and with a low spirit world population that could give our paranormal exterminators some problems.
So enjoy a retro trip with an older game using an older IP and see if the Ghostbusters still have power in their proton packs or if they just had too many donuts and Cheez-Its between campaigns. You can leave a comment below if you have any questions, observations or concerns, or there's always email for you long-form communicators at dmgashbad@gmail.com.

Infamous mercenary Raskin the Reptile and his aggressive companion Jill are back in the third adventure for the solo 'zine game Rusty Dagger. There they plan to learn the fate of a caravan sent to it and loot the rumored riches of the city, and not necessarily ...

This video is a little different than the usual ones. It's kind of a hobby/channel/work update all rolled into one, in that now I work at a new board game café in Citrus Heights, California, (Sacramento area). The important thing is that now I'll be hosting gaming events, so if you are local, come by, say hi, and maybe check out the store and what we have going on. It's essentially a large gami...

So, I know it's been a long time since I've posted a video (new job, end of the school year stuff), and I know this isn't the game most people want to see. But be patient, the summer is here, and hopefully there will be plenty more of the other stuff coming relatively soon. In the meantime, the Ghostbusters are back for their third mission in the classic first edition of Zombicide. I'm still tr...

This battle report started, as many things do, with my son mouthing off about how great Lego Minecraft is. Since I can't just let things go, I had to bring up that most of those models were already represented by Warhammer miniatures, which were clearly superior in every way. So one thing led to another, and eventually we settled on this challenge: His Lego Minecraft minifigs versus my Warhamme...

For the final (for now) game of our 500 point Warhammer: The Old World battles, I've drawn another Orc & Goblin Tribes list. But this one is a little different. First, it uses both Orcs and Goblins, and the common varieties of both. Second, I'm using magic for the first time. My general is Briny da Deep, a level two Orc Wierdboy on battle magic with the Ruby Ring of Ruin. And finally, the list ...

lol. That's brilliant.
Great to see a gameplay video from you!
Thanks. I’d make more, but my painting has been lagging.
and now with the new old world arcane journal, about half of that is gone. i was going to look into that for oldworld but i dont see any listings even with people who reviewed the new journal of spider riders or the big spider thing. yet tomb kings got to keep all their last edition large models. kinda meh because an army like this is why i would go with orcs and goblins in the redo of old world.
But you can always use the list from Ravening Hordes, right? The Spider Riders, Gigantic Spiders and Arachnarok are still in that list.
Been building a 500 pt army for the first and its so cool to see games being played at this scale. Just wondering that size table are you playing on so I know when I start?
We play on 4’x4’ tables, but really that’s a holdover from 8th edition. You could use smaller tables these days. It’s great you’re starting with small games. I think they are not talked about enough.
@@dmgashbad4908 awesome! Cant wait to get my elves on the table now.
Just discovered this channel and damn these are good! I would love to see more videos like this. I want to see Raskin rebuild his company!
Hmm. I did just buy the Forces of Fantasy book for Warhammer: The Old World. Maybe Raskin should start assembling an Empire army…
"At the end of each Ghostbuster's turn, Slimer moves 1 space towards the next numbered Slime token on the map." Not after each round.
Ugh. That’s a pretty significant mistake on my part, and would make that scenario a lot more difficult.
I had to come over and comment. Just love these videos. Relaxing to watch, especially with your grrat painting and soothing old school vibe. Please keep em coming! Are there many of such solo dungeon crawler games? Sounds super interesting.
Thanks, that’s very nice to hear. And yes, actually, there are quite a few solo RPG style miniature games. Off the top of my head, there’s Forbidden Psalm and its related games, Five Leagues from the Borderlands and its variations, Warlord Ascendant, County Road Z, Rangers of Shadow Deep, Hametsu, Majestic 13, The Doomed… As I was writing this I kept remembering more. Of that list I’ve only played Rangers, but several of them I do hope to get to some day. And then of course there are the board games like Gloomhaven, Warhammer Quest, Descent, Zombicide: Black Plague, etc.
AMAZING!
Thanks!
That is awesome, congratulations!! I am in Scandinavia so a bit away.. but if I was in the area, i would pop in! And who knows, maybe one day. Good luck there! I am old fashioned, well, but i like e-mail too.. lol
This is how old fashioned I am: I miss internet forums. Everything like Discord, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. just seem like forums that don’t work as well. But thanks, and if you ever do stop by, I’ll be the old guy that looks about two generations removed from Scandinavia.
@@dmgashbad4908 Haha,. :D I agree though. Actually having a topic section from other discussions. How did that become less popular over all discussions at the same time?? I don´t get it
I still have all my Marvel Super Heroes sourcebooks. I do love that game. Need to get a campaign running again.
Nice. I think I lost most of my original books when my backpack got stolen a couple decades ago. Still, it was nice to get back to it, easy to prep for. It’s weird that a MSHRPG stat block for a supervillain is smaller than a goblin’s stat block in D&D 5e.
City of Ice. Will this segment into Frostgrave?
Sadly, no. I didn’t even make proper frozen terrain for this. I dunno, I always looked at Frostgrave and thought, “couldn’t I just play Mordheim?”
@@dmgashbad4908 As far as I'm aware, the only difference seems to be that the bands are led by mages rather than warriors.
I tried giving actions to my allies and always found it lacking. The game looks orphaned at this point but interesting if you min/max your hero. Your videos of this make it an enjoyable experience!
Thanks. Yeah, when a companion has something to do it’s more of a nice surprise than anything else, but then again the companions with the better skills or stats either died or refused to join me. I don’t think the game is orphaned. I joined the Facebook group to access the fan adventures posted there, and the author was talking about a hard copy and a second edition not too long ago.
Good to hear, it took a while to get added to the Facebook group but it happened so I’m more hopeful.
I love your paint schemes. The simplistic bases really makes them pop. The bloodletting looks like it's made of quicksilver or ice.
Thanks. I tried to do a chrome effect on the Bloodletter following Sorastro’s video guide to painting Ultron. I actually think it photographs better than it looks in real life.
Thai is a surprisingly engaging game. The off colour commentary, does a nice job of setting the tone. Just the right amount of cynicism.
Thanks! I definitely try to aim for the higher end of the cynicism spectrum. If you don’t expect too much of your heroes, you’re rarely disappointed.
I cannot even estimate the number of hours I spent on the Marvel Superheroes game. I still own all the books. Such good times from...Junior High! LOL! Good luck on the new job.
Thanks. I am happy to say the game did happen, and the system is about as awesome and stupid as I remember. The partially-randomly generated superhero team of Titanmaster, The Evening Highlander and Goldpants were able to foil the nefarious plot of Infernal Monologue.
This video help me decide … to get back to RPG gaming!!!
Yes… go forth and conquer!
Great game, love you scenery & floorplans.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
Dude, I have to say that all of these models and terrain are very well painted, and the conversion on Jill is great. I am actually just noticing the conversion and the original core model.
Thanks. I tried to make the sword on the shorter side so ifI ever got to the point where I could make a whole Sisters of Sigmar warband I could use her as a henchwoman with a dagger.
Very cool grid.
Thanks. Nice that it didn’t take too long. The hardboard does still tend to warp a little.
Surgery by hammer is not very effective apparently.
Clear! *whack*
You have one of the most underrated channels. Good luck with the job
Thanks. It’s all part of my plan to lure CZcams into a false sense of security.
Congrats on the new position. I'll probably never be able to come visit since I live in France haha. I am happy that you've got an opportunity to work in an area that you really love.
Thanks. Well, you never know. I somehow found myself in France last summer (and yeah, I went to a bunch of game stores and came back with some nice stuff).
Oh gods, now I have a reason to actually venture into the hellhole that is Commiefornia, if I ever visit the US.
No thank you. Stay away.
Humbly, I would suggest there may be a few things more interesting than myself if planning a trip here. Just so you are not disappointed, maybe visit Disneyland first. Or Yosemite, Santa Cruz Boardwalk, San Diego Comic Con, the giant sequoias, etc. Then I won’t feel like I have the pressure of holding up an entire trip.
@@dmgashbad4908 I was joking my man. Theres a few areas in CA I want to see anyway, mainly the National parks, but dropping by to see you in person would be cool as hel.
Hey, I am a WH3 total war modder and I intend to fix balance issues of the current computer game and I want it to reflect the tabletop (not lore) as accurately as possible. Seeing as you seem to play a lot of tabletop matches I'd love if you'd share your personal opinion on the subject. If it's not too much trouble I'd love if you could make a tier list of average performance for each race categorized after infantry, cavalry, monster, artillery, archery, gunpowder and magic. I already have my own list but I want to make sure it matches up as accurately as possible.
Do you mean for Warhammer 8th or Old World? I really don’t have enough experience with Old World to attempt a ranking. I’m not even sure I do with 8th.
@@dmgashbad4908 The game is based on 8th edition so that would be the best reference.
Congrats! Consider yourself extremely fortunate. Most people are struggling with jobs they despise. It’s not every day that you can do what you like and get paid for it!
I know what you mean. I did not care for some of my earlier jobs at all. Last year I got a different job, which I absolutely loved, but the whole program got cancelled along with my job. I was pretty sure I wouldn’t find anything I liked as much and would have to go back to my old career. But then this came along. So I do know I have been fortunate.
Good luck, Bad.
Thanks, I think. I assume bro got autocorrected to bad. Either that or it’s a very zen cosmic balance sentiment.
Nice to hear you got a job at a venue like that, sadly I can only dream of having a similar place within anything that resembles a reasonable distance. Hope to see some awesome videos about games at the store, maybe you can rustle up a party for Warhammer Quest, for instance.
I would love to do that. I’ve been collecting models for Vermintide-style characters as well as female variants. Of course, collecting the models is the easy part. What I really should be doing is painting…
That’s awesome! Congrats on the new job!
Thanks. I’ll try not to mess it up.
Oh, I remember FASERIP, I also played the Marvel Super Heroes RPG in junior high. We took over the chess club haha
Excellent! Yeah, in junior high it would be hard for chess to compete with MSHRPG.
congrats on the new job chap.
Thanks very much. You guys are such a positive community.
Congratulations man! Hope it goes well having someone with your passion for gaming can only be an asset
Thanks. It has taught me that I didn’t know board games as well as I thought I did. There’s a lot of popular stuff that I had never even heard of.
This is super cool
Thanks. It is going pretty well so far.
Will there be play throughs with the Ghostbusters for 2nd edition?
Well, the short answer is no, unless a second edition box became available for a fell-off-the-back-of-a-truck kind of price. And even then I’d be tempted to run through the first edition missions first. It may well happen someday, but not anytime soon.
@@dmgashbad4908 do you have other Zombicide games? I only have 2nd edition.
Oh yes. Besides first edition I also have been playing Black Plague and Marvel Zombies, both good games.
@@dmgashbad4908 cool! What expansions do you for the Zombicide games?
beautiful! Just love blue roof tiles, reminds me of Warcraft
Hmm. Maybe I subconsciously made them that color because I wanted my Orcs to roll in and wreck them.
I thought that this was great, especially how you lured your son into playing by comparing his Minecraft Legos vs your warhammer zombies. I might be taking mental notes for how to get a game in with _my_ son.....
Thanks. The trick wasn’t really challenging him to a game, it was convincing him to use these rules as opposed to the ones in his head.
Recently getting back into the hobby. Obsessed with making a Night Goblin horde. This has given me some ideas... Thanks for showing off your awesome army!
Fantastic. Good luck on your army. I thought I would never have to paint another Night Goblin, but now with the Old World, I’ve been looking at finishing up a couple of those units and adding some characters myself.
Do love smaller games myself much more manageable and feels more personal with the models.
I agree. Not only that, but so far the games seem to be avoiding some of the problems I’ve seen in larger games online, like non-games where both players refuse to advance or engage, gunline massacres or games where a giant monster or three rampages through the opposing army. It may have more to do with what armies we are taking or a generally low-stakes attitude to throwing our forces forward, though. But that 1000 point mark does cap a lot of the more powerful stuff.
👌👌👌
👏👏👏
Great game, reminds me of all the impromptu bash em up games I had with the grandson. We used Zomblings at first, made rules up for them. Then migrated to Warhammer when he got older. He got me into 40k.
I had to look up Zomlings. Those are adorable and it sounds like games with those would be a lot of fun. It’s great that you and your grandson play these games, and that he got you to play 40k. Maybe I should learn a game my kids like. But that’s Pokémon. Maybe if they make a Pokémon miniature game…
@@dmgashbad4908 We had rules for flyers, poisonous ones, champions & leaders. One dice each, opposing rolls, flyers & poisoned got +1. Champions got 2 rolls and leaders got 3. Then I weaned him onto Heroquest, Warhammer Quest, Space Crusade, Space Hulk and Warhammer. He didn't need much coaxing.
Hilarious game! Loved it. I'm a bit surprised you didn't just house rule that Zombies don't get stunned. Since it would have impacted you both equally no one gets an advantage and it just makes a lot of sense. I have a sense that you particularly like to use Rules as Written, do you think that's the case? Awesome work as always, and I think this demands a rematch!
Thanks. Yeah, by default I try to play things as close to the rules as possible. I do use the Mordheim rules for attacking knocked down models, though. In both cases, I think it speeds the game up and makes things die quicker, which is also what I like.
Two expensive hobbies, clashing on the battlefield.
No kidding. I have an extensive Warhammer collection going back decades, and I thought I had some valuable models. But they don’t hold a candle to some of the random Star Wars Lego sets I picked up in the 90s.
Oh, baby zombies, they are infamous killers...
Especially for someone as bad at Minecraft combat as me.
Bring out your dead is my favourite scenario, I'll have to show my son this
Very cool. I’m a little jealous of someone who has played enough Skirmish to have a list of favorites.
I doubt you'll see this but if you do: a S test is NOT 2d6 it's 1d6. Huge huge difference lol
I believe you are referring to the Shadow Weaver’s Shadowbind spell. In the spell description it specifically says the strength test is on 2D6.
great collection of minis those orcs !!!

You are welcome, and thanks to you as well.
Great content, going through your whole series :) Quick questions. Where are these additional events from? Are those from the RPG book or selfmade, or from an expansion?
Thanks. Good luck. That’s a long series. And you are correct, the additional dungeon events are from the roleplaying book, page 61.
