  • It was bound to happen eventually. Having put it off as long as I could I got the rulebooks, made the adapter movement trays, wrote some army lists and finally scheduled my first game of Warhammer: The Old World.
And in keeping with the hallmark of the channel, we are playing a tiny 500 point pitched battle. I actually created seven different lists and let my opponent randomly pick one. He drew the Orcs & Goblin Tribes, specifically the Sylvanian themed Night Goblins.
And facing Mr. Grimley and Da Kourt of da Grave Choppas will be my opponent's Beastmen Brayherds, led by the menacing Minotaur Gorbull.
So see what two brand new players do with armies that would get lost inside a normal sized game. And leave a comment below if you have any questions, observations or concerns.

100% agree the smaller games have a certain charm to them, especially around 500pts. Also agree old world has some mechanics that work well for this. Always enjoy seeing your forces for games like this! Our crew just started the dive into the old world as well and we have been having fun so far

Really really like this style of battle report and a small 500 point game looks like fun, will have to give it a try.

  • @losmiercoless

That was a crazy game! Absolutely stellar battle report, just good narration and I learnt a lot (will probably forget close order regardless, but oh well). Thank you for sharing!

  • @7jackaloper7

Wonderful fun! Thanks for posting this battle report!

  • @ja37d-34

Ah nice! I am watching this as I FINALLY bought a box of AoS Fanatics - for TOW use.. ;)

Night Goblins as an army are overall in a pretty good place, but still need some magic support. If you had brought even a level 1 caster with Itchy Nuisance to decrease the toughness of whatever the archers shot at, this would have been a vastly different game. Still awesome battle report!

This is so awesome! I’ve also only played 500 points in the old world and found it to be a really great level. Of course, I also forgot at least a dozen rules… including close order. Next time though, perhaps I’ll get it right. Hope we can see more of these games!

  • @ja37d-34

Agreed on small games, it is fun!

  • @nathanvarley542

I love your 500-point games! If only you could get your points worth from the archers.

  • @grumbo8634

Great game, can't wait for more of these 👍

  • @Mark-nh2hs

Seeing small units reminded me of 4th ed WHFB which I started with 😂

  • @xbogx

looking forward to the next! and i almost never watch battle reports

  • @Mattw1987

Do love smaller games myself much more manageable and feels more personal with the models.

  • @cjanquart

I see Beastmen or Brayherd, I click on the video.

  • @user-se3dx9qu8l

Great game! I think fanatics can be sent out in both sides command phase.... based on watching CZcams only....?

  • @TheJankmaster

Fun video and love the night gobbos…why didn’t you issue a challenge against the gors charge?

  • @philosophyfrog2653

Hey, I am a WH3 total war modder and I intend to fix balance issues of the current computer game and I want it to reflect the tabletop (not lore) as accurately as possible. Seeing as you seem to play a lot of tabletop matches I'd love if you'd share your personal opinion on the subject. If it's not too much trouble I'd love if you could make a tier list of average performance for each race categorized after infantry, cavalry, monster, artillery, archery, gunpowder and magic. I already have my own list but I want to make sure it matches up as accurately as possible.

  • @ergofargo

My first game will be 500 points. I have had a lot of fun on sixth at 500 points game.

  • @leonemaledetto1500

So... goblins only as a list kinda sucks. Duly noted.
