They've lasted until day 2 so far. Ordered mine because the price seems unreal and it's made of good materials. Once I've practiced it'll be a good addition to my sling bag. Waiting to see how long it takes to fly here.

I haven't been sold on a jackknife to date (though I have the Rivpick), but these do look intriguing, that's a really nice selection of profiles there, which is usually their Achille's heel (or one of them). I wouldn't definitely not sweat the steel type much on a turning tool though; if anyone is breaking their turning tool, then making picking is not for them. They might wanna lay off the gamma radiation and anger. :) * Loctite 222 purple is very weak relatively and would also work as well, it's meant expressly for small and delicate screws. ** Oxidize, not oxidate. Zeig Heil Grammar! lol

Wood glue dries rigid, and works well for hardware that stays in place. The knob on a kwik pick, that holds the pick itself in place, has a tendency to get loose, but needs to be able to move. Silicone is perfect for that application....

I use silicone to add resistance to the screws that I don't want to lose, but need a bit more help staying in.

I picked on up last week and love it, especially the handles thickness as I'm handicapped and they're easy to hold. I had to use a sparrow wrench recently as the genesis wouldn't fit the brinks lock I just picked. Also got the Echelon but the handles are thinner but still a great set.

Just managed to get someone to buy one of these for me and ship to uk so hopefully it will be in my hands in a couple of weeks 🤞I love the 3d cases and hope to get one but I'm just happy to have the tools

Excellent review! I know I sound like a broken record but it is what it is. You won’t find a better review AND side by side comparison on the web. You won’t!

Great video. I plan on trying to order the Moki very soon if its still posable. Not dismissing the wood glue idea. If you do try a loctite, the purple loctite 222 is probable what your going to want to use for adjustment screws.

I bumped into it yesterday… figure that’s a good enough reason to order. I’ve been holding off til he got cases in but I couldn’t wait any longer. Got this, 6 hooks and his set of turners. Hope I get a cool case with mine haha. I ordered within an hour of them dropping so hopefully being fast on the trigger helps my chances. I’ve watched this video twice. Guess I’m excited enough to spend 1.5 hours of my life just drooling over the tool. I will order the rest of the hooks when the case comes back into stock.

I bought the FNG and was able to pick it up pretty quickly. Ran stamraight to my Masterlock 141 that was laying around. My Genesis set arrives today and finding out that the echelon doesnt duplicate any tools is really attractive. Going to give my kid my FNG set for his birthday.

Honestly the quality control issues alone are enough to turn me off ever buying a Peterson tool. When im spending 10 dollars for what is essentially just a bent piece of metal and it isnt even bent right thats just a slap in the face

I had looked at trying lockpicking before and had seen the CI website, but I didn’t pull the trigger until after seeing you talk about their beginner kits in earlier videos. My first order was an FNG and a Genesis kit (the FNG was cheaper than just an acrylic lock on Amazon), and now my Genesis/Echelon(just came in) kit stays in my backpack(with 4-5 practice locks hooked onto the backpack), and the FNG kit stays on my desk at home. Those three basic tools have been enough for me to open every lock I’ve tried so far(9 so far, which doesn’t seem bad for someone less than 30 days into all of this). What would be really helpful to folks new to lockpicking would be a video about good beginner locks. I started of with the standard MasterLock 3 and 141d, along with a couple of random locks I had that were not being used, but I didn’t really find a lock that really clicked (no pun intended)with me until I picked up a 40mm 4 pin brass body Brinks. It gave all the feedback that can be heard on CZcams videos, and the springs feel a lot stiffer, and pin binding is more solid, so it’s a lot easier to know what’s going on inside there. While I agree it would be difficult to sell to the public I could absolutely see a local club (or chapter of tool for that matter) perhaps being willing to either buy the whole set or put together the whole set to use at meets ups

Great video. Before hearing of CI I opted for a set from Amazon, "not black," mostly to see if I could hold the picks as I'm handicapped. I successfully picked a D3 and M5. I've since moved on to CI's Genesis and am awaiting the Echelon set. I like CI for the handles, they just feel right.

As an Aussie that owns the CI Genesis and Echelon, and going to buy the Arbiter, I find this to be a great review. I'd love Jimy Longs but can never get them. It just makes sense to me going forward to look at Barebones.

Nice overview. Being in Europe AND outside the EU, and not in the UK, my options, my cheap options are a bit limited. I can certainly get a lot of different brands, but of the recommendations the only brand I've found so far was Multipick, and even a beginner set ends up costing $50-70. Import costs are nuts. There are only a handful of stores in my country selling picks, and the cheapest option out of those had SouthOrd (it's as if the stores compete on being most expensive). The 5-piece C500 set cost basically as much as the 9-piece C801, so I went with that, and it's very nice. I wish there were more snakey rakes, but it does have a city rake. I have no shortage of padlocks that one opens :)

I got an FNG for free from the company that first made them. Pretty basic but my medium hook (from any set) is my most go to pick. I am not educated enough to know when I need to use other pick profiles. lol I do use a rake now and then.

I really like the look of the LLT duplex set, decent price for a beginner set plus it's double sided giving you more options/bang for your buck. But anyway, I'd love to see you review those. Great vid as always 👍
