    I’d really like to see LPL’s lock collection and also his want list. Does he have a Norman? Does he have an example of Fort Lock Apex? No surprise you are invited. So excited for you. You rock brother.

  • @Marson440
    @Marson440 Před měsícem +1

    Congrats! I hope you have a blast!
    My questions, not just for LPL but any of the notable attendees (including yourself):
    - Locksport has a lot of aspects to it. In addition to picking, I've found myself attracted to constructing challenge locks and custom picks, but there's also safecracking, collecting, and more. Even within picking, there's PT, DD, levers, etc. Is there one that has piqued your interest that you haven't tried yet or would like to try more of?
    - Is there anything you've learned or experienced in locksport that you've been able to apply to another area of your life?
    - LPL mentioned his 30 sec ASSA 600 pick after splitting a bottle of Scotch with JL, but what is everyone else's proudest picking or locksport moment? (It doesn't have to be an open.)

    Congratulations.Thats awesome.
    Have they considered offering larger pick cases?
    Have they considered offering a compact plug spinner? Maybe something on the line the a1-sp1 spinnakur that most locksmiths swear by. But no longer available do to manufacture shutdown. That would be so sweet if someone would get the rights or ok to start manufacturings these again!

    You're a lucky man Sandman take full advantage of this great opportunity!
    I'd be interested in hearing from LPL "What does he think his impact has been on the lock industry, does he feel like lock companies are listening to his reviews and attempting to make more secure locks?"
    Can't wait for your videos from Covert Instruments.

    Their stuff is still on the way to me. Can't really ask much about their products until I had them in hand and used them. It would be nice if they could expand their pick profiles (gem hooks, point hooks and round hooks), maybe even introduce some dimple picks. Anyways Sandman ⏳ have a great time there!

    The core trainer is always out of stock. More importantly it would be cool to have a company that supplies just cores instead of locks. Maybe offer them with belt colors associated with them where a set comes with a few belt colors, where you buy the set at your skill level.

    Questions to them?
    Do they plan to branch out into other locking systems, be they dimple/disk, or electronic access control systems (RFID card in Echelon, Replicant)?
    Do they plan to be the Multi-pick of NA? What do they see as key to their finding the successes that they have and to growing that in the future?
    Do they have plans to grow their drilled training lock withe more security pin options, or different core plugs, perhaps even dimple? A White-Black?
    Do they have any awareness off, or ability to affect, the sudden implication of large Canadian import D&C fees? Canadian distribution?
    Any other Vault previews?
    Speaking to Not So Civil Engineer?
    I really enjoyed starting to spp tubular locks with my Echelon (It's my main all-around physical entry EDC) and it finally got me to start learning electronic access control).
    Basically, how do they plan to step up their game to further enable us to step up ours?
    Thanks Sandman, safe travels and have a blast! This may be my most anticipated lock sport video yet!

    Awesome sauce! Looking forward to seeing those Apex picks when they come out. Not sure I have any questions not already covered, the individual picks sales is the big one, IMO.
    If you could eek a new clue or two about their upcoming vault items, that'd be a score and a half, but they're probably being pretty tight lipped. Are they having people sign NDAs? Or NDAs about signing NDAs? 😁

      I mean they have the Echelon pick set and the Genesis set (different thicknesses between the two), plus the Arbiter Bypass set, as well as every type/shape and thickness of turning tool. What else would you need? Lol. Granted, I'm pretty new to locksport, but still.

    • @dannileigh6426
      @dannileigh6426 Před měsícem

      @@kasper_429 More thickness options (ie an 0.018 or 0.015 series), more profile options (lower and higher than just short & med hooks, flat round and diamond tips) and the ability to order individual picks to both build custom pick selections to go with all those turners and to replace picks from the genesis and echelon sets. some larger & grippier handles would also help my hands during long picking sessions.

    Enjoy, it sounds like you're in for an interesting day, here's a question, electronic locks are on the rise, for example, Paxton style systems, they're the modern day Masterlocks, no use of rotational codes etc, CI made a subtle start by including a Mifare magic card with the Echelon set, more and more locks will become electronic, its a valid direction of travel and from a locksport perspective it's just another form of lock and I can see a further hybridization of mechanical and electronic being developed , do they have further plans to expand in this area and also their perspective on where the 'hacking' line is, for example YT are fine with lock picking but hacking an electronic lock is something they clamp down hard on....

  • @justinsmith3981
    @justinsmith3981 Před měsícem +1

    I'm excited to hear that CI is coming out with new picks. CI defiantly could use some new profiles that are not just thinner versions of the ones already in the Genesis set, which is main ding of the Echelon. I also really enjoy the inject modeled handles on the JimyLongs. I usually go for them just for that. Heat Shrink just can't compare imo.

    love your channel Sandman. I watched Bosnian Bill for years as well as the rest. one question i would have is why Master lock will not take on board how bad there locks are and not improve them? Surely they must see how bad they are but yet they do nothing to make them better? Here in the UK my local hardware store, all they sell is master locks. It seems crazy to me they can still keep making these less than secure products when theres 100's of videos showing how bad they are.
