Re-live Robinson Cano's 33-homer 2012 season! Cano holds the record for most home runs in Yankees history by a second baseman with 204 big flies. In his 9-year Yankee career, 2012 was when Cano hit the most home runs in a single season, and it was the only year in which he topped 30 homers while wearing pinstripes. This team was dominant, consistent and well balanced on pitching, defense and run production. Any player could beat you at the plate and what rotations they had for pitching. Remember Mariano was the set up guy for Wetteland. If you couldn't get any runs by the 5th inning it was over. Just Awesome! I got a chance to watch 2 games in Texas against the Yankees while I was going to school in the late 90's. The opportunity to sit behind Paul O'Neil who is my all time favorite player was dream come true.

Masterclass on pitching, Incredible control and ability to place his pitches wherever he wants, always in complete command on the mound. The greatest weapon in baseball history. Yankee fans were spoiled greatly by having a guy like Rivera close for them so much so I remember him giving up a HR on back to back nights to Miggy in his final season & the NY media were wondering if he was finished.

I was 11 during the 2000 World Series. 10/08. Birthday about two weeks prior. I remember because Yankees were on brink of losing to Oakland and came all the way back to the beat them, and Seattle. I was legit worried Mets were going to win. They played amazing. But I’m convinced even though they played great after, that lead off homer in game 4 won the series. Look at the Yankees players struts. Everyone in that dugouts demeanor changed. Look at the Mets? Total dejection. Right there it wasn’t that it wouldn’t be close. Or that Mets couldn’t win: it’s that the Yankees felt they couldn’t lose. I always believed the 99 season teams would have been a much better matchup. Both teams great but vulnerable. The 2000 series was closer than it appeared.

Word through the grapevine was that Bernie got razzed by a lot of veteran Yankees during his early days back in 1991. That all ended quickly when Don Mattingly walked over to Bernie, put his arm over Bernie's shoulder, looked around the locker room and shouted.... HEY, ANYBODY THAT F***S WITH HIM, F***S WITH ME, UNDERSTOOD?! Having The Captain's approval definitely put Bernie at ease. 5 years later, judging by this video, Donny Baseball saw something in the kid!❤
