Bernie was the smoothiest Yankee to grace the field in my time. Professional, never in trouble, power and discipline from both sides of the plate. An all-time Yankee great!

Most fans remember the walk-off homer from Game 1, but this video really showcases how he dominated the series. Hit after hit, two homers, excellent baserunning instincts as well as a solid glove in center field. A five-tool superstar in the 1996 ALCS.
Baltimore fans in this era checked under their bed for Bernie Williams before they went to sleep.

@breadandcircuses8127Nope, the Orioles pitching simply weren't good that year. Even Moose had a high ERA in 1996.

One of the members of the Yankees to play very well in the 90s.

Word through the grapevine was that Bernie got razzed by a lot of veteran Yankees during his early days back in 1991. That all ended quickly when Don Mattingly walked over to Bernie, put his arm over Bernie's shoulder, looked around the locker room and shouted....
HEY, ANYBODY THAT F***S WITH HIM, F***S WITH ME, UNDERSTOOD?!
Having The Captain's approval definitely put Bernie at ease. 5 years later, judging by this video, Donny Baseball saw something in the kid!❤

Absolutely right.. Mel Hall was the one who made things tough for Bernie the most. From what I have read Bernie was very shy as a young kid and just wanted to succeed so he didnt upset his father. Extremely grateful that he ended up having a successful career and won 4 rings!

It would explain Brady Anderson's power surge in 1996.
