I think that the Tiger moved out of it's position because he had smoke all over him. First of all anyone could sneak up without them knowing and secondly the tiger didn't know either if he was spotted or if he was still concealed. To get vision on the tanks he could either move backwards and reengage or move forward a few meters to get out of the smoke and recieve visual over the shermans. If the Tiger had the confidence to win then he would move forward which could be possible he had. But he should've become stationary after he got out of the smoke. I'm not debunking your point completely I'm just saying that if you think about it there are a few reasons why it would make sense for the Tiger to move forward at that situation.

This was just another "Murrica fuck yea... the truth is what we want it to be" movie. If you ask me, Hitler's did only one mistake that made him lose. He did not have patience. But if it were only America vs Germany, America would have lost fast and ugly. Think about it, it took all European nations and Russia to fend off Germany. America alone had an ice cube's chance in hell to win. And they know that, and they know that is also true now, without their allies they are NOTHING...but they will never admit that, but it's absolutely true.

Hitlers problem he fought the war based on ideology and not stategically. For example, the Germans were greeted as heroes by the people of Ukraine and it was only after they realized the Germans were as bad or worse than the Russians. Not to say that Hitler would change his stripes, but allowing the Ukrainians to declare independence and treating them at least superficially as partners and fight along side the Germans, no question Russia loses. Of course, the partnership would only last as long as needed, but still a winning stategy.

One folly you did not mention is that he should have listed to Rommel during D-Day and had Hitler listened to him D-Day would have been a failure and extremely costly for the allies. You mention the argument he should have listened to his Generals which I would update to He should have listened to Rommel. It is true that any one of these things would not have won the war for the Germans but if you fix 2 or 3 of these things Such as listening to Rommel on D-Day and fixing some of his mistake in the invasion of Russia and underestimating the impact of the winter then maybe that would shift the course of the war. Would Germany win? who knows. But, we can say it wasn't an easy win for the allies already and just ab few corrected mistakes would make it much harder for the allies to win and give Germany a much better chance of winning the war.

IF the Germans took Moscow we do know Stalin was going to stay in his bunker like Hitler did in Berlin. We don't know what happens if Stalin dies in his bunker. Odds are they may negotiate a peace. The two big game changers: 1) If the Germans focused on finishing off the British instead of launching Barbarossa. If they put the resources into Malta and North Africa they open up the oil fields to the Middle East, secure the Mediterranean and cripple the British access to the Eastern Empire by taking the Suez canal. The other side benefit is they may get Turkey into the war with the promise of providing land to recreate the Ottoman Empire. This forces the Soviets to shift forces to the Caucuses. The British may go for a settlement but would free up resources that could have been sent into the Barbarossa offensive plus the much needed oil. 2) Don't declare war on the US and Soviet Union until the Japanese are committed to an offensive in the East. Take the Eastern Soviet army and add the North Africa resources to Barbarossa and the Germans take the Baku oil region.

Germany mostly did win by 1941. They could have settled for what they gained at that point and not go to war with USSR or USA. However, the idea of them stopping is just as implausible as the ones mentioned in the video.

If Hitler is out of the picture, there's Himmler, Goebbels, Goering (and later) Speer or Donitz to fill his shoes. Of critical note is the fact that Hitler's Personal Physician was giving him narcotics in higher doses towards the end of the war. Japan wanted to Surrender in May 1944. When they contacted the Russians they declared War and grabbed some islands they lost in 1905. In July they got communication established with MacArthur and he presented a deal to Roosevelt in October which was rejected as the War was profitable, popular and a tremendous amount of resources were put into the Atomic bomb and they wanted to field test it on non-Europeans. The War was over in 1944 but the US refused to accept the surrender, forcing another year of profit. Germany never wanted War with Britain but Churchill wouldn't stop carpet bombing German cities to kill civilians.

"The Sherman wasn't made to fight tanks". That's true in the strategic sense that US doctrine was to stop massed tank spearheads by rushing tank destroyers to the point of attack, but wrong in the tactical sense that Shermans had the same firepower and superior armor compared to US tank destroyers - they WERE designed to fight other tanks IF they encountered them when launching an assault against the enemy. US tanks were for offense; US tank destroyers were for defense.

The H.39 had 40mm of cast armour, great speed, a fairly good gun, and it was cheap, lightweight and it wasn’t known as unreliable and it had decent suspension, and it excelled in its role of light infantry support through that, so if you look at all that, the best tank of ww2 may well be a French tank!

The only way the Nazis could've "won" WWII was by never starting it. Unfortunately the ideology of Nazism already spells their doom because they believe they are innately stronger, smarter and overall superior in every way. Their ideology was incongruent with reality, and there was no way they'd never have to confront that at some point.
