But what about a high pitch spooling of the engine mid-flight that continues for the duration. An obvious change of tone in one or both engines. Sounds like it needs to be lubed up or something. What causes that? Is that normal?

Quick question. Do you know how some planes takeoff with this very distinctive humming sound? I’m gonna get a little technical here, but it’s usually a very low tone, and the notes of it range from B1 to a two. I’m sorry this is how musicians talk. I’m a pianist. But, do you know why that hum is on some airplanes? What’s the science behind that?

Pilots are more passionated than flying waitress. you don’t even need a brain to serve foods or goods to pax. But she thinks flying waitresses have the same position like pilots do 😂

So if you’re a pilot without a US passport it’s pretty much impossible to become a pilot in the US unless you marry an American because the exceptional one is pretty much impossible even if you’re an experienced pilot

As someone who flies not infrequently, knows what the noises are, and is a very nervous flier, this was very helpful. I have a flight to Japan in a little over a week and have been spending the past handful of days looking for videos and doing a lot of self talk surrounding my fear of flying.

this definitely braught me back to 2019, my first time flying, there's been a curious question on my mind since then, does the temperature get colder when landing or is it just me, I've flown 4 times now, counting return flights and that's always puzzled me, because I am visually impaired I rely on my other senses to know what's going on, on some planes I automaticly know when you are about to land, in fact, I can all ready hear a few sounds before then and feel the plane going downwords before the announcement, I hope I get to go to marmris again this summer as I can document what I hear and feel next time

I watched this video a couple of months ago before my flight and it helped me so much to feel a little bit more in control and less frightened. I have flown many many times. Recently however, I am soooo anxious that I cry and go into a full blown panic attack. The turbulence, the stories we hear lately is making it worse for me. I use to love flying. Now I dread it. Any more advice? I enjoyed this video. Thank you!

My fear is where the engine check is happening then it turns to full power that feeling there for me I start thinking it’s time to get off but it’s too late, just the feeling in the body is horrible that jet power

Note: The sound of the hydraulics being powered on is something you can really only hear on Airbus planes. That “barking dog” noise is a hydraulic pump called the power transfer unit or PTU. Boeing planes have an entirely different hydraulic system, one that you can’t hear when it powers up

Airplanes can’t move backwards, but helicopters can FLY backwards!

Why can't manufacturers make cabins that can maintain consistent air pressure inside the cabin (equal to ground air pressure)? That will eliminate all the ear problems while flying.

Great video! After a flight were the hydraulics noise was going off and on during the entire taxi and even during take off I wanted to know what it was! I also could bearly hear the engines on the 777 I was on, so I was slowly starting to suspect one engine had starting issues as the hydraulic sound came with an engine start. Thought the engines were restarted several times during taxi, which wasn't a very nice thought to have..

i so wanna be a pilot, i just hope i can gather budget soon enough :(
