Today it is all about Bose ProFlight series 2 headset. The Bose ProFlight series 2 headset was tested on Boeing 737, 787; Airbus 319, 320, 321; CRJ; Cessna 152, Jabiru 430, PA28 and Pitts. Originally the headset was donated for testing in the summer of 2020 when the pandemic hit the world. This video is not sponsored or paid. We did it out of our own curiosity as it is very rare that new innovations come to the aviation world (within headsets).
A few important notes to add:
1. The earbuds used on the ProFlight series 2 Aviation Headset are the same as the ones used on hundreds of thousands of in-ear music headphones you see people wearing on the streets. They are not the intrusive earbuds which go into your ear canal, they sit in the conch of your ears.
2. Molded ear tips can be an expensive exercise for those who are interested, and prices are likely to vary depending on where in the world you get them done. Bose does not participate in the costs. Custom moulded ear tips are manufactured by a third party (non-Bose owned or operated company) for North America for example www.averysound.com/as.bose.html.
4. If you don't want to use the tap-control feature, you can switch the functionality off (dip switch inside the control module) thereby preventing inadvertent activation.
5. Helicopters are a definite no-go for the ProFlight series 2. Helicopters require an around-ear headset with a certain level of passive noise attenuation.

I am really scared about the inner ear side of the proflight headset so I bought, for 10€ the rubber inner ear pieces (medium) to test out.
Thanks for the long term review, it answered some questions about how well it might survive after a year or more of regular use!
