Why can't manufacturers make cabins that can maintain consistent air pressure inside the cabin (equal to ground air pressure)? That will eliminate all the ear problems while flying.

Whenever i flew and i used the headphones given in the plane and the plane was decending ... both my ears were very very very painful ... i tried a flight without using the headphones and it the plane was decending my ears were fine .. maybe it could also be because of the loud movies/games or videos we watch on the plane

I flew many times (within US, within India, and between US n India). why I have ear pain only on certain planes (frontier in US or Spice jet in India) ?
Or Am I just connecting wrong symptoms to problem!!

I have similar problems with certain airports. Imo i think the airlines and pilots are to blame for this. During landing, they usually probably depressurize the cabin( to save fuel or whatnot thereby inconvenicing passengers) when the plane is still actually pretty high but is in a holding pattern waiting for a green signal to finally land. When the landing is quick with engines still thrusting without the holding pattern, my ears are fine. Its when the plane is a holding pattern and if pilots are being asshole. Anyone with real knowledge can chime in but thats what I think of my ear popping predicament that happens only at landing and at certain busier airports.

I've tried those 3 times already and they didn't help. So I asked my ear doctor last time I was there and he suggested two things.
One was the maneuver they showed in the video, which he said is perfectly safe so long as u don't have any liquid inside your drum or blow too hard and the other was to use a Xylometazoline spray. I personally have always been afraid to use that maneuver, even tho my dad does it all the time when we fly, so I tried the spray. I had 2 flights back to back and it worked like a goddamn charm. The brand name of that medicine is Otrivin where I'm from but I'm sure u have something in most countries with the same active ingredient.

@@syniahthomas977 I'm so sorry this happened to you. It happened to me as well for the first time and it was excruciating! On my way back, I bought the Earplanes and I also drank water and swallowed and yawned/ opened my mouth and I had no pain on the next flight. Hope this helps. God bless you.
