Sound Design Cinematic Pulses in Current
In this sound design tutorial I'll show you how I like to sound design cinematic Pulses in Current by @MinimalAudio .
The overall technique can be used in other synthesizers as well, so you should be able to replicate this with whatever synthesizer you have available.
These pulses are a useful tool for music production and video editing, as they can be used to create atmosphere and increase tension.
In this video I also talk about the importance of the order of your effects. Changing the position of one effect can drastically change the sound depending on the other effects in the chain - this is important to keep in mind and play around with in order to get interesting and unexpected results as well as resolve issues that you might have in your mix.

do you have a thanks buttom or something similar?
Really high quality sfx. Thanks for giving it away for free :)
Thank you. Glad you like it. :)
How mutch time it takes for moderation(aproove) on MA
It can vary quite a bit. I would say usually 1-2 weeks. But when you are first applying it will take a lot longer. I think it took around 2 months in my case, but once you are accepted it's down to a few weeks depending on the category and how many assets they have in their queue (music will most likely take longer than SFX because there seems to be more music submitted and it also takes longer to approve a full track than SFX). Hope this helps but let me know in case you have more questions. :)
@@NGTVST thanks
I did not receive it
Did you check your spam folder?
Thank you so much🙂
You're welcome. :)
Really solid tutorial. I took this further and doubled the parameter modulations and the results were very good. I ended up using HighPass effects on two of the OSC's to bring in just the right high-end elements. Modulating Chorus/Flanger parameters with the right settings can give it a quite realistic spatial effect. Additional Ring Modulation and some modulated Frequency Shifting (I stayed within 157Hz +- (bidirectional)) on the effects chain outside of vital, plus low end processing for added character.
Yeah, there are a lot of ways to build on this technique with more modulation and different FX chains afterwards. Glad you found a way to experiment. :)
Should I add something in the description of my video where I use these SFX? What should I add?
You don't have to but of course I appreciate it. Maybe you could just add a link to my channel? :)
Not email in junk file sfx
Did you receive it in the meantime?
Bro i am fr using this pack on each and every edit of mine since i started my channel, and without a doubt its one of the best sfx pack. Tysm for making this pack free of cost

This is fantastic. I’m watching in my phone linked to the car audio while I wait for people to turn up. All I want to do now is turn the car around and head back to the computer and see if I can try this for myself. I know it won’t be half as good as yours, so…. Tutorial please :)

Hey Negativist great video as always. Just curious, what's the attraction to Current over Serum or Vital?
The sampler is a bit more flexible and I really like the granular section. The internal effects are quite different and sound outstanding. Overall it just leads to a different workflow and to different results. :)
@@NGTVST Thanks, definitely one to consider :) I have Minimal Audio's hybrid filter and it's fantastic

Are there any other external plug-ins to replace the autopan effect in Live? I am currently using Reaper, but I find that it seems difficult for other effects to achieve an effect as simple and easy to operate as the autopan in Live.
Yes, I was born to see this video.
:D
Drum buss seems to be really important in the chain. I don't have Ableton, what plugin do I use instead?
You can just use a transient shaper and any distortion plugin that you have available; this is what I'm using drum buss for in this case. Try out different distortion plugins to see which sounds best for this and also play around with the order of the plugins (transient shaper into distortion or the other way around). I use transient shaping and distortion at quite extreme settings in this case, but depending on the plugins you end up using, you might use more moderate settings. I hope this helps. :)
@@NGTVST thanks for the tips!
What's this app?
The software is called Ableton. :)

1. Literally anything 2. Bandpass filter 3. Saturate/Distort 4. HUGE reverb Easy and effective-sounds great as always
Yep, that's pretty much it. :)
I love your sound design videos
Thank you! :)
Nice
Thanks :)
Looks like Camel Phat has been discontinued. Any alternatives? Doesn't Roar do exactly the same? thanks for the tutorial btw
For the purpose of this you can use any distortion/ saturation plugin. I just like to stack multiple different distortion plugins. Ableton's Saturator and Roar will do the job just as well. :)
@@NGTVST if that's not too much to ask - we'd appreciate if you dropped a .zip of CamelPhat (and other Camels if you have) on Gdrive or somewhere - there's a bunch of links floating around to get this abandonware, but i'd rather get it from my fav content creator that is using legit software 😄 And as always - thank you for your knowledge; eagerly waiting for more tutorials :)

Rar file Having problem for extracting 😢
Are you trying to unpack it on mobile? Can you try it on desktop?
what do you think of current compared to vital ? would i be able to recreate the same things in vital ?
Current has a lot of functionalities that Vital doesn't have; the granular section in Current is really good and the sampler is also a lot more powerful than the one in Vital. The interal fx section is also really great; so unless you pretty much stick to the Wavetable section in Current and don't really use any of the internal effects, it will be difficult to recreate the sounds in Vital I think; but that obviously depends on whether you are creating rather simple sounds or make heavy use of all the functions that Current has. :)
sooooo good i need this for fl😭
Amazing, as always! Can you make a video about glitchy drums/perc/FX, or another earcandy staff, like in hybrid genres like cal of duty MW3, or cyberpunk 2077 or blue stahli (obsidian album)? It would be super-duper amazing 😊
Sounds interesting. Can you maybe send me a link to a specific example? Just want to make sure I understand what you are interested in. :)
Straight out of TRON in the intro. Nice one
