Alan Wake 2 has the same problem that Cyberpunk has. Ray reconstruction is great for geometry but it makes faces look weird if they are not up close to the POV.

I have a 4070 rog zeph m16 2023 and i can play most modern games to a fairly high level. but dragons dogma can play like shit.... jedi survivor can play like shit. However, the games like these that are not optimized well play like a dream on Geforce now. can't wait for jedi survivor

Lifelong PC only gamer here but I dont like dunking on consoles just for the sake of it. I would place the majority of the blame with the developers in this. When you look at Sony's first party games for example, they get the fps to visual quality and resolution balance mostly right.

I think this just shows why it's inevitable that the majority of handhelds will need to go the RISC / Arm route eventually.

Some of the original Switch prototypes employed magnetic joycons, but if I remember correctly, the issue they ran into was that in order to create a sturdy interface, the magnets had to be dangerously strong, so they scrapped the idea, since they didn’t want people getting their fingers accidentally caught between two super strong magnets.

These comparisons are so pointless. I have both series and the ally. The ally is mainly a portable. As such it doesn't need the graphics power of a series s to output amazing performance 720 or 1080p. Pppl want 7 inch 8k screens lol. The ally functions fine as a pc. I can even capture ps5 gameplay on it with a elgato. My series s can't do that. Performance has truly reached a point of diminished returns. Course a 4090 smokes an ally. But at 720p on a small screen you won't see much of a difference. I think consoles will eventually die off and only portable pcs and pcs will survive. It's because of well intentioned videos like this that young ones go out and look only for the "latest and greatest" instead of enjoying the amazingness that's available today right now.

Sony and MS should let players download 90% of a game WITHOUT first paying for it and then allow the players to download the last 10% if they decide to buy the game. I really hate having to wait hours after paying for it to start playing the game. They should also consider making online multiplayer free like PC. I haven't played any multiplayer games on a console since PS3.

Demand for what though? What is there to demand from them when they won't put anything out? There's been almost nothing of quality from the AAA market, prices rise and quality gets worse... Even the hardware itself. My PS5 has less than half the features my PS3 did forever ago. The "Demand" for games has never been higher, but game companies aren't seeing extreme growth after covid blew up stats across the board so the only thought running through their head is to lay off everyone instead of make the products that get them the money they want in the first place. You need to make games for people to buy your system. You can't just acquire the only studios making your games just to keep shutting them down and wonder why nobody is buying your console. I know there are a lot of moving parts we don't really see, but it's definitely not because gamers aren't interested in gaming. It's because these companies want to do anything but make a game, and start firing anyone they can when the line on the earnings chart doesn't magically go up. Even if the Indies and AA pick up the pace, it's only a matter of time before they get bought out and shut down for no other reason than to keep it from the competitor, costing thousands of jobs in the process. They deserve the failure, but we don't deserve to suffer for it.

Imagine how much more longevity there could be for the PS4 if it shipped with an SSD instead? Automatically it would play better than Switch games and cheaper to make than aiming for PS5 specs.

1080p is a higher resolution than the steam deck offers, and it seems like the more expensive handhelds with higher res screens struggle to perform at those full resolutions so I'm wondering how much sense it makes to have a 1080p screen on switch 2 when the system will be underclocked perhaps quite significantly when playing in handheld mode. Honestly I'm surprised how good some games look on Switch's 720p OLED screen but there aren't many games, especially more modern ones, that manage to hit that resolution and maintain a high framerate in order to take full advantage of that screen. Trying to hit Full HD for maximum clarity then seems like it will be a big struggle in handheld mode even with a "new" chip set.

I picked up my OXP 2 Pro 7840u BRAND NEW SEALED for $800 private sale. This thing is amazing! I had a Legion Go and parted ways with it after getting the OXP 2 Pro. The Z1 Extreme and the 7840u are NOT the same as stated... not too mention the 32gb of RAM at 7500 MT/s. This thing runs circles around the Legion Go I once called me own.

My ROG ally CPU beats out my Zen 3 5900x in unzipping a game in a multi gigabyte zip file by quite a margin using Winrar I noticed if I start them both unzipping at the same time.The ROG ally finishes way quicker. it also goes for installing a game I was quite suprised to get zen 4 like performance. I know it is zen 4 the ROG ally But didn't think it would out do my 12 core 5900x.
