Man the internet sure has fried people's brain, to the point where a "portable Series S" in 2025 is deemed as "outdated and disappointing", when not even a Rog Ally (700-800$) runs games like the Series S does.

Its not that. Its just the Ponys and Xbots that are seething inside and cannot possibly give Nintendo credit even for the life of them so they resort to the same old retarted outdated argument; Oh ThE COnsOLE iS OutDATed. it would be disappointing, not because it'd be outdated,
but everybody trying to make their own version of the Switch,
would be a catastrophic bad move by the industry.
no what's fried peoples brains, is all these Switch 2 rumors.
nobody knows what Nintendo is doing next, for all we know Nintendo could make there very first VR console. im not saying that's what they'll do,
but im just giving an example. you have to think 1st party when it comes to Nintendo, after that it's a matter of thinking, what could they
come up with next. Japan just opened it's very first Nintendo theme park,
i think it's only a matter of time Nintendo retires from the gaming industry.
so this may be the last time we can enjoy something from them,
because who knows how long Microsoft will stick around console gaming.

@Jeymez your are factually wrong when you say nobody knows. If you wanna be ignorant and say no one knows then that's your fault. Not to get too deep here but It's the same as atheists saying God doesn't exist because said being isn't in front of their eyes even though the proofs there, similarly here, the console isn't infront of us yet however rumours now are past the point of speculation for example with how nintendo has been ordering components. What do you think Ninteneo's gonna do with millions of chips? Sit on it like a clown?don't think so mate. It's obviously for a reason and we all know why

@@sullythegI mean, the Wii U came in again underpowered despite being a home console, and despite games now being in HD there was a ton of confusion in the general press of it just being a tablet addition to the existing Wii console.
Gamers were annoyed by it being underpowered and going with a new tablet gimmick more than anything else.
I say this as a happy Wii U owner, but the optics from the get go were pretty poor. Immediately you saw it wasn't powerful enough to get modern games engines, and on top of that the biggest selling point was being able to play games at 480p but only a few feet from the system itself.

Some of the original Switch prototypes employed magnetic joycons, but if I remember correctly, the issue they ran into was that in order to create a sturdy interface, the magnets had to be dangerously strong, so they scrapped the idea, since they didn’t want people getting their fingers accidentally caught between two super strong magnets.

I keep revising my idea of how air intakes will be implemented on switch 2. Still believe they will be imbedded on either side of console. If they do away with it sensor on bottom half of old Joycons and manage to create a hollow channel at bottom half of both new joycons with ir sensor within body of both that can track flow of air if blown in like ocarina with coinciding with new button on back and new arrangement of buttons on top you could essentially create a digital wind instrument to work with a ocarina of time remake. And they would allow two air tracks flowing into system for greater cooling too. If I’m correct?, this could be revolutionary.

It's worth noting that the patent about the splittable clamshell design had six (or eight, can't remember exactly) shoulder buttons, presumably so you dont lose inputs when splitting for co-op. Of course there's no need to point the obvious, i know a patent is not a certainty. So if Miyamoto or Aonuma want to do something that they can't do with the OG Switch, they'll ask for more power. And Nintendo will try to meet their needs and nothing more.

We are talking about a handheld console which is gonna use a Nvidia APU with the RTX 5XXXX architeture and with DLSS 3.7 support and framegen.
Nowdays, AMD have a APU which can deliver the power of a GTX 1070, and for sure Switch gonna be stronger than that. Now you understand?

They better have DLSS 3 to keep modern AAA games getting ported to Nintendo console. Because I believe the 4 TF is when docked, and between 1.5 to 2TF handheld mode. So the Switch 2 is going be as powerful as PS4 & PRO. The only thing making it more powerful than previous Gen is the DLSS 3.

Even if its more powerful id still go for a steam deck. Not interested in locked down portables at the mercy of big corpa. Still no netflix on switch..... Steamdeck can emulate a massive pool of consoles, has a desktop mode with fully functional browsers, can play downloaded movies and shows and music, can read ebooks, and plays games right from my steam library that i already use on my high end gaming PC. What is nintendo offering me? a zelda game every 5 years (that might end up disappointing like TOTK) and a 3d mario game that barely innovates? Think ill spend my 500 cad on a deck, thanks though!

7nm is honestly ridiculous and extremely disappointing in 2025. Budget android chips will be manufactured on 3nm in 2025. 7nm in 2025 will leave Nintendo further back than when even the tegra x1 came out for the original switch

Currently the nm doesn't necessarily mean the actual node size for the transistor, it could just be marketing. So it is similar to what happens with the term "teraflop". We will have to wait and see.
