Fallout is always an enjoyable topic, and I know I'm always down for a good fallout video

I’m gonna watch the vid rn but I wanna see how my understanding is altered before and after. I was under the impression that society either consciously or unconsciously sees girls as inferior to boys, so a girl engaging in “boy activities” isn’t looked down upon in the same way that boys are if they engage in “girl activities”. Therefore investing in technology and manpower to create games for boys is more profitable because you can target the boys and the substantial portion of not-like-other-girls girls that play boy games. Games for girls aren’t as profitable because you’re targeting 99.9% girls with them cause very few boys would play a girls game (there’s not many not-like-other-boys boys)

I would like to disagree with this idea that the east has some sort of monopoly on metaphor. I acknowledge you won't see much metaphor in your next marvel movie or bethesda game, because those are trying to be products with the most mass market appeal as opposed to good art, but thats not the only thing we've got. I also won't deny the direct social comentary of Bioshock, Disco Elysium, certain Fallout games, certain episodes of dr who. However, we also have the dark gods in Night in the Woods, the ghosts in Oxenfree, the body snatching of Get Out, the zombies murderers and aliens of the cornetto trilogy. Hell, if you really want a gut punch google what spoke to Hoawrd Ashman about Beauty and the Beast. You can find metaphor in our pop art, you don't have to reach back into the literary or dramatic canon, although you can, Moby Dick, the Crucible, Frankenstein, Waiting for Godot, the list goes on. Personally, as an English major, I chafe at this vaguely orientalist idea that the art if the west (like its people) is all direct and loud and in your face while the art of the east (like its people) is all subtle and mysterious and holding its tongue for fear of losing it honor. Otherwise a great video, I do hope that we can slay the false god of capitalism before it slays the Earth.

Not so fun fact, if all the Nukes in the world were launched and aimed to land so the blast radius are side by side with each other it would only cover a land mass the size of India. so total world destruction that is depicted in most media is totally impossible. not that it would be a fun time but humanity would survive we wouldnt even be brought anywhere near extinction levels. The lore clearly states that the resource wars were fought over oil, uranium and _WATER._ That's right, the availability of potable water was being depleted because so much of it was being used up for cooling all those fusion engines that were used everywhere. Mr. Handy fuel and Red Rocket stations didn't provide petrochemicals. It provided water with special additives to cool the nuclear reactions of the U-235 fueled reactors. There were other resources fought over, too, such as the materials needed to make all those fusion engines. Oh, and there are fan theories (and rumors based on the new TV show) that the "first shot" that set of the nuclear exchange in 2077 wasn't fired by either the U.S. or China, but by Vault-Tec itself, just to trigger the resulting war.

it's actually not 100% certain that china launched first. it seems to be the most certain answer because we literally see multiple nukes hit the us first and can confirm chinese submarines then launched from us shorelines, but the us and china were in peace talks. not like the war would stop just cause peace talks would be ongoing, but that puts some doubt on them launching first despite the readiness for a nuclear exchange. we also dont know the origin of the first nukes that were detonated. what i like about that certain bit of writing is it allows technically everyone to be correct on who they think launched first. cause in the end it doesn't really matter

it is said that "it's easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism", but nowaday it is getting even harder and harder it is almost impossible to imagine the end of the world. maybe we need a new, rebooted fallout with updated geopolitical lore, new satire, new "propechy" about how the world will end, it gives hope to this hopeless world.

I wish more people would talk about this topic, I love playing video games but I just feel limited by the games available rn. I love playing indie titles and games like animal crossing and stardew valley but i just really do not wanna play another game with a farming sim shoveled into it! I'm looking forward to the release of Witchbrook, Cozy Caravan, and The Little Witch in the Woods when they all officially release and are out of early access.
