I hope you enjoyed watching my “Wild Atlantic Way” series, featuring my Royal Enfield Classic 350. I called it the “Mini GS Adventure” due to the modifications I made to the bike enabling the Givi pannier system from my Triumph Tiger 900 to be used. The bike performed faultlessly for the full 1,600 miles of the trip, returning an amazing average fuel economy of around 95 mpg (uk) If you’re inte...

Hi Ian, thank you so much for your lovely review. All the best from the Goldrick Family in Kenmare 😊
You fell on your feet there. What a lovely place.
I keep hearing ppl say they put on alloys so they can put on tubeless tires. Why can't you put tubeless tires on spoked wheels?
Now that is more like it, a great ride and a perfect little town. As the song goes, "what a difference a day makes, 24 little hours" and no, I will not be singing at the weekend!
Well done Mr Ness, there can't be many people who can say they've ridden a Classic 350 on a beach👍 Better weather and a full stomach is good for the soul😄
You look like a happy bunny Ian, lovely part of the world around Kenmare
Morning Ian, definitely one of your better days 😂 though I disagree with you, the wee Enfield was definitely designed for roads like that, it coped admirably 😁 all the best buddy 👍
Hey Ian, good morning 😀 Again much fun watching your channel and enjoying your tour 🏍 along the wild Atlantic 👍 Your "Mini GS" is doing quite well, doesn't it? Steep roads, windy hills: Bikers Heaven !!! Thank you once again for your nice video and I really do look forward to your "finish line" 😎🍀
Morning Ian 😊 well how fabulous today's part of your adventure has been, Shame that you didn't take the ferry over to the island, but at least you are well fed looking forward to your last day 👍
Loving this series! I would be very much interested in a follow-up video, where you discuss how you like the mods a bit further down the road (mileage etc). I read in a comment that you removed the FuelX and the decat pipe, I would love to see more about the reasons etc. Keep up the good work and most of all, enjoy the ride(s)!

Nice, I wonder how you are maintaining the chrome finish on that engine.. mine is becoming dull within few months.
Nothing special really. Washed with Muck Off motorcycle cleaner and engine sprayed with GT85. Also the occasional polish with metal polish. Hope you enjoyed the video 👍
Good vedio, would like to make same purchase as you did, but looks like they don't sell in USA. Do you have recombination where could buy same quality cam and tools?
I got all my parts from Hitchcocks, excellent service and they send worldwide. See link below. The camshaft is currently out of stock but due back in July. Hope this helps and great to hear that you enjoyed the video 👍 accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/accessory-shop/cylinder-head/48439
Ian at least the weather was nice, make note for next time, bring some cup of soup, and a mars bar.😊
Every day is a learning day, I’ll take your advice onboard for the next trip 👍🤣 Hope you’re enjoying this video series so far 🇮🇪😁
That's quite a huge difference!!! 🤠
It certainly is, well worth doing the performance camshaft modification. Hope you enjoyed the video 👍
Aww Ian such a shame. I always carry a couple of spare camping meals or noodles, some are really good these days and all you need is a kettle. Good for a lunch stop too if it's cold 🥶
Hi Donna It’s all part of the fun, character building 🤣 The last two episodes of the series do get a whole lot better with some fabulous roads to ride on. Hope you enjoy them 😁👍
Ive done all the mods on my meteor except the camshaft. just waiting for them to be available again!!
Hope you enjoyed my video and found it helpful 👍 It’ll be well worth the wait, I’m very happy with my camshaft upgrade. Now done around 4,000 trouble free miles with it installed.
Does anyone know for sure if these backfiring do not back up past the valve and into the combustion chamber? Potentially a fatal problem for an engine.
No this will not happen, these are one way valves and are also installed in the exhaust port after the exhaust valve. Removing the air injection will definitely stop this issue from happening. Hope this helps
I'd have been livid Ian. Crap room and no seafood dinner.... and the "Tesco takeaway" to add to the misery.... oh well at least you got a go on a ferry.
All part of the adventure Frank 🤣 Two more episodes to come and the trip does get a whole lot better, some fabulous roads and scenery still to come 😁👍
When I was touring Ireland someone got me a book by the tourist board of farm and guest houses in ireland. I never stayed in hotels and met plenty of lovely people (bar one who hated the English). The breakfasts, especially in the farm houses, were the stuff of legend. I've been addicted to white pudding and farm sausages ever since.
I fully agree with you, the best and cheapest place I stayed in during the whole trip comes up in the next video, fabulous B&B. Hope you’re enjoying this video series so far 👍
@@tigerness5555 Definitely am ! It's bringing back a ton of memories.
That be my luck too. It’s like Newtonhill the 2 takeaways are closed on Tuesdays, that’s the day you fancy a wee takeaway. lol. The scenery there in Ireland keeps giving me…..glorious.😊
All part of the adventure Mark, character forming 😁👍 That night I would have loved the white pudding supper you mentioned in the last video comments 🤣
Booking one night stop accommodation for a long trip is a lottery I have encountered a few Basil Faulty's and tiered hotel rooms,,, great video's TN
Hi Old Fella It’s all part of the adventure and character forming 🤣 The last two episodes still to come do get a lot better with some stunning scenery 👍
Don't count your chickens till they hatch Ian, ps a few of us from our bike club stayed in the Merryman in Kinvara, nice spot and a beautiful wee harbour with Galway hookers as well, no not that kind 😂
Hardly‘hell’. You had the option to go to another restaurant and didn’t take it. Your videos are good so you don’t need to manufacture drama. Just my view
Hi Mike I wasn’t trying to manufacture drama. I was simply talking about how that day went and how I was feeling at that particular moment. Hope you’re enjoying my Wild Atlantic Way series. The last two episodes still to come are more upbeat with fantastic scenery 😁👍
@@tigerness5555 yes, sorry to be a bit harsh. Yes I am enjoying your videos especially because I can’t get out myself at the minute, but that will hopefully change in the not too distant future. Take care and ride safe
Im hoping you give that place the review it deserves. Nice ride though
I did give it a bad review 🤣 Hope you’re enjoying this video series so far, the upcoming last two videos do get a lot better in my opinion 👍
@@tigerness5555 very much so. Tempted you to do it myself
Well I'm glad your cliffs of moher walk was clear and sunny ...👌...mate and I saw nothing but peasoup fog n rain😂😂😂 but travel weather is always lottery we travel Scotland very regular and live in cumbria 👍👍
Coming from Scotland I’m well used to the rain and cold. But it’s so much nicer riding in the warm sunshine ☀️ I hope you’re enjoying my video series so far, the last two episodes which are still to come are really good in my opinion. Hope you enjoy them 👍
The Classic would have felt out of place at the fancy restaurant when you were wearing a Triumph 👕. Personally, I'd have went to the fancy restaurant. They probably would have served everything that was on "your" menu. Sometimes standing out in a crowd is a good thing. One time going through a very small western town I found a little restaurant surrounded by pickup trucks. I was dressed in black leathers and looking like a black Angus steer. They all were wearing cowboy hats 🤠🤠 and boots. I was the focus of attention as I walked through the door., BUT breakfast was grand and so was the local gossip.
Hi John Have to buy some Royal Enfield T shirts so that I can dress appropriately for the fancy restaurants 🤣. Love hearing about your experiences. The trip does get a whole lot better as will be seen in the last two episodes still to come. Great to hear that you’re enjoying my adventure so fat 👍
Nice ride !! How is the bike performing with the cam etc? Does it make the bike better all round? Rgds Mike N
Hi Michael Great to hear that you enjoyed the video and hopefully you’re enjoying the full series 👍 The bike is performing very well indeed with the new camshaft. It has more power which definitely helps pull it up these mountainous roads.
@@tigerness5555 Thanks for your positive reply. Remote Ireland is a bit different! When you can find a shop, it doesnt open until mid morning ! I think it takes until then for the Guiness to wear off ! Eating? Great when you can get it ! Until then, theres plenty of grass. A recommendation to those who might follow you. __ Fill your panniers with Mars bars !!! Entertainment ? Listen out for the fiddles !! IRELAND, It's different!!! and definitely WET After 6 months of looking, I've just got my Halcyon, so far I m really happy with it. It's still running in, but you can tell it's going to run out of puff on the hills. This is my last bike ( I've said that before) so I want it to be the best it can Thanks for your input, and a great channel. Best Regards Mike N
Enjoy your Halcyon Gray 350, fabulous colour. If you put in the performance camshaft it won’t run out of puff on those long hill climbs 👍🤣 czcams.com/video/heylXlwUcjs/video.htmlsi=9gvareISi11FJzL
Sometimes philosophy is the only way 😉
Hi Serge It’s all character forming and part of the adventure 🤣 Hope you’re enjoying the video series so far, still two excellent episodes to come 🤞
Good Morning Ian 👋 well, you've enjoyed a nice day along the atlantic coast with brillant footage and ended up in such a spooky place...I have no words 😒 I do hope, that for the rest of your tour you would have had more "luck", more sun, more food and less "HELL-RESORTS"!! Can't wait for your next footage - 😍
Hi Toni As they say, it’s character forming 🤣 The last two episodes still to come do get a lot better, they’re probably the best of the series 🤞
Brilliant vid shame about the food situation!!
Hi Steven You can’t live in luxury all the time, unfortunately. Great to hear that you’re enjoying the video series 👍
A stay in a Hotel like that is 'character building' 😄🤥
Hi Stephen, It sure is, I hope you’re enjoying this video series so far. The next two episodes are really good in my opinion.
It's possible to overcome the 70 mph limiter? Please answer me 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Only by replacing the ECU/Throttle Body, to date I don’t know what ECU/Throttle Body part number actually works properly on the Classic 350.
@@tigerness5555 thanks, make me know if you find out!!
Really really great video, do these improvements allows the bike to overcome the 70mph or 115 km/h? And what Is It the Felix light?
Great to hear that you enjoyed my video and hopefully found it helpful👍 Unfortunately these are improvements do not allow the bike to overcome the 70 mph speed limit, this is still restricted by the ECU/throttle body. Details of the FuelX Lite be seen at this link: accessories.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/47038?cont_page=Royal-Enfield-350-Classic-Accessories
@@tigerness5555thank you!!! If you find a way to overcome and delete the restriction of the ECU and the throttle body please let me know!
Great channel Who makes you saddlebag mounts?
Great to hear that you’re enjoying the channel 👍 As for the pannier mounts used on this trip, there a combination of parts. The panniers are Givi items from my Triumph Tiger 900. As Givi do not make a pannier fitting kit for this bike I had to make my own. Full details of how I did this can be found in two of my earlier videos, see links to them below. Hope this helps. Cheers T.N. czcams.com/video/i9LaEtor7oE/video.htmlsi=0ltmnL1SrCoYzz2n czcams.com/video/PEg74l-RFro/video.htmlsi=0K0mZukN8XRwWOy0
I am also suffering with this fault. Secon time changin tacchimetro
A very common fault unfortunately. Hope you enjoyed the video 👍
Late to the vid here. Curious what your real world before and after milage is.
No real idea what my before mileage was, but on my recent tour of “The Wild Atlantic Way”, 1,600 miles it averaged over 95 mpg. Pretty impressive in my opinion, this was sitting between 50 and 60 mph most of the time. My bike is performing very well, it’s probably done around 4,000 to 5,000 miles since the camshaft was fitted. Trouble fee 😁👍
@tigerness5555 Wow, didn't think I would get a reply! Thank you. How the heck can those small engines do that on a bike, but suck gas like crazy in a lawnmower? Trying to get my nephew to buy one of those RE 350 bikes. He currently runs around on a Honda Cub 90cc. Wants something that can do 99% back/main roads, 1% highway. Think these, or a 411cc would be perfect. Easy to work on and parts are not Honda pricing.
Thanks for the video. Do you find the screen makes any difference to the riding experience? Just got myself a Classic 350 and dreaming about touring but not sure what it would be like after a long day
Hi Michael Great to hear that you enjoyed the video 👍 I’ve now done 9,000 miles on my bike with many long touring days. My experience of the screen is mixed. I like running in good weather without the screen as the airflow is clean and the ride enjoyable. But for longer runs I nearly always have the screen on. It does make the ride a bit noisier but it also gives protection from the wind and rain. I’ve probably done 8,000 miles with the screen and 1,000 miles without it. It’s easy to take on and off, as are many parts on this bike. It’s a great wee bike to tour with, I’m sure you’re going to love it 🏍️😁
I've watched all your Royal Enfield related videos and feel, out of courtesy, after viewing this one, that now is a good time to give you the credit you deserve and thank you for your efforts. I love the pace and tone of your delivery, the subjects you cover and the way you make it feel like a one-to-one conversation. Travel-wise your Wild Atlantic Way trip meant a lot to me, especially around the Doolough area in Connemara. It is a very spiritual and historical place and brought back memories of being there in my teens in the 70s on my beloved Honda 175cc, a picture of which appears here too. I go back there every few years and find the same peace I did on my first visit. Please make sure you get to see it on a sunshine filled day, it will blow your mind. I am now only months away from my 70th birthday and have just completed the first 500 km on my month-old RE Bullet Classic 350. I'm looking forward to a few more years of riding accompanied by your very enjoyable videos. Take care and ride safe.
Hi John It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying my Classic 350 videos and hopefully they’re inspiring you to enjoy your Bulletin to the full. In the very early 70’s my first ever new bike was a Honda CD175, absolutely loved that bike and traveled all over Scotland on it. I’m 70 now, but the wee Enfield takes me back to those early days exploring on the Honda. I never thought when I purchased this bike, that it would bring me so much joy, especially as it’s the slowest, simplest and cheapest of my three bikes. It’s also the one that’s responsible for the growth of this CZcams channel, and all the fabulous feedback that I’ve received from so many viewers such as yourself. Thank you for telling me your story, hopefully one day I’ll be back in Connemara on a sunny day and take in its full beauty. Enjoy your Bullet and the many adventures you’ll have together. Cheers T.N.
I rode my ‘22 signals green off the showroom floor this spring-had 600 miles on her before I got to dealer service. What a great little bike it is. Just…pure and simple, nothing missing, nothing unnecessary. I appreciate your videos-helping me to realize the performance mods available aren’t necessary for me. Love the grip mirrors, I’ll prolly do those. Also love the plug you managed to install on the battery compartment in a later video…I prolly won’t accomplish such a thing😅 Superb, indeed. Thanks:)
Hi Silas Great to hear that you’re enjoying my videos and finding them helpful. They’rebrilliant bikes, as you can tell I love mine and thoroughly enjoy tinkering with it. Mine is almost 2 years old now and covered around 9000 miles and has been 100% trouble-free. Apart from the speedo issue 🤣 Enjoy your signal model, I think they look brilliant 😁👍
Well done! So much better than the Hancock video.
Hi Richard Great to hear that you’ve enjoyed my video and hopefully found it helpful. I also watched the Hitchcocks video a few times before making mine, their video was not very clear and I thought I could make one that was clearer 😁👍
Awesome video. I own two RE 350's. A classic and a Meteor and wasn't aware they were equipped with that ability to download the codes. I have a code reader and will try that out. Thank you 😁👍

Hi Bob Great to hear that you’re enjoying my video series of the Wild Atlantic Way. Good idea, I’ll keep your thoughts in mind for future travel videos 👍
Ian, the Doolough pass is a beautiful ride but has a sad and tragic history to it, a very hunting place, please look up the history of the place, well worth the time and effort
Hi, thanks for the info, I looked into it. The tragedy of the famine walk was indeed so terrible. Man’s inhumanity to man still continues today when you look at the terrible events around the world. Such a shame that it doesn’t have to be this way. I hope you’re enjoying my video series of the Wild Atlantic Way 🏍️🇮🇪👍

Despite the rain, you remained very upbeat. Lovely roads. Obviously much better when dry. Nice to see the accommodations etc. Nae white pudding supper at chippy.😊
Hi Mark The weather does improve as the series continues, as does the scenery. I’ve tried to include more about the accommodation in the upcoming videos. The adventure and misery continues but I keep positive and smiling through adversity 🏍️🇮🇪😁👍
I look forward to your entertaining and honest vlogs, Ian. You can look at the dreich weather as 'character building'. 🤣🤣 Shame that your 2nd night lodgings weren't great, but it adds a bit of a twist to the journey. The scenery in your video still looked great considering the weather. I can't get over the condition of the roads in all your videos so far. they're fantastic. Ride safe. 🏍
Hi Ricki The story and the misery continues into the next episode, yes you’re correct, it is character building 🤣. But stay with the series there is a happy ending 😁 Plenty of amazing scenery to come on brilliant roads 😁
Ok you had me with the wooden cabins 🤣, taking the rough with the smooth indeed, glad to see your spirits are still up despite the "summer weather"
