Uncle Tony's Garage
United States
Registrace 17. 11. 2017
We live Mopar but have our hands in a little bit of everything. Old school simplicity and common sense Hot Rodding is what we're all about. Classic Muscle cars, vintage daily drivers. street and drag racing, DIY wrenching and budget builds the common working man can afford.
Uncle Tony's Garage is similar to the great car magazines of the 60's and 70's. A wide variety of topics and features any gearhead can relate to.
In addition to our ongoing project builds, we also post videos on viewers cars, historic factory cars as well as race cars and street machines. You'll also find unique personality profiles and even the occasional vehicle rescue. And now, with our newe facilities we're branching out into the worlds of Off Road and Autocross. UTG is the only place on earth you'll find a Chrysler Slant Six powered Miata, and we've got plenty more like that lined up for the future.

Gone Too Far - This Rip-Off Red Mustang Is Classic Car Flipper Butchery Of The Highest Order!
We headed over to Kiwi's this morning with the goal of getting his 57 Buick up and running, but that mission was abandoned once we began looking over this early Mustang that has been dropped off for a couple seemingly minor repairs.

After nine months of hibernation, our 1967 440 Charger is up and running again, but her revival came with a couple of small bugs in the fuel system that can affect any Carter or Edelbrock Carburetor.. Here's what we found and how we fixed it, along with a refresher course on the idle and low speed circuits common to all Edelbrock and Carter BBS, BBD, AFB and AVS carbs. #automobile #diy #classic...

While it's become obvious that traction is the number one issue to overcome with our 5 speed 4.0 XJ, we had no idea how bad it would get after giving it just a minor initial tune. Any hope of working with the Jeep's original open rear vanished when it literally freewheeled for 400 feet during our latest trip to the dragstrip. #cars #jeep #engine MERCHANDISE: Get Your UTG T-Shirts Here: uncleton...
The Rust Buster That Keeps On Giving - After 3 Years Evaporust Turns Out To Be Better Than Expected
zhlédnutí 33KPřed dnem
A few years back we did a side by side comparison between Evaporust and white vinegar to see which was the more effective rust buster. The vinegar did a good enough job back then for us to call it a toss up, but after all this time, the vinegar is long gone, but that same gallon of Evaporust is still going strong and performing as well as it did when we first poured it out of the container. #di...

How To Create The Everlasting Engine Gasket And One Common Mistake To Avoid
The secret is in the power valve for carbs.
Now if you really want to talk Chryslers that get no love😢 I've got a Shelby Onmi Chager with a Chrysler turbo 2. With not aftermarket support or factory support and im doing just fine. It hasn't run but there's always hope. 😊😊 As far as the aftermarket goes it seems you could run a ghost cam but a ghost crank is beyond the pale
What would be better in your opinion for 1/2 ton truck for axle warp & wheel hop, A leaf spring enhancement kit such as roadactive spring kit? or a chassis/axle traction mount, or even both?
Excellent video, simple to the point 👍
Rotella T6 5W-40 is the best.
Jeep Cherokee XJ content is always interesting.
Good evenin Tony !
Everything is just cheap shit made in China these days. That's why everything manufactured today just falls apart and doesn't last. Nobody cares about quality any more, just making things as cheap as possible then charging as much for it as possible. I have an air compressor my dad made in the 60's out of an old electric motor and a compressor he took out of an old freezer. It still runs to this day, and all I've ever had to do to it over the years was repair the power cord when it frayed over time. That compressor is as old if not older than me. I also have a rotisserie that was my mom's made in the 70's. The electric motor in it still works to this day. Nothing made in these days will ever last 40+ years because everything is made of cheap plastic and inferior parts with no thought to quality or longevity. Everything is made to be cheap and replaced quickly, so they can sell more parts.
I still prefer the Edelbrock/Carter carburetors over Holleys. I just don't like how the Holleys always leaked from the float bowls on the hot intake manifold. I never had much problems with Edelbrock or Carters. The only problem I had with my Carter AVS 4640S on my '69 Dodge Charger R/T with the 440 factory A/C car was once I was driving for about two hours down the road and all of a sudden something popped inside the carb and it caused a massive vacuum leak which caused the engine to run extremely lean. I found the nearest NAPA and bought a carb rebuild kit and rebuilt the carb and blowing carb cleaner through every single passage on the carb. Nothing helped it. I figured the base of the carb warped or got a hairline crack in it somewhere. Never could figure it out. Replaced the factory remanufactured carb for a brand new polished aluminum Carter AVS carb and never had a problem since.
Would like to see what you fabbed up for the pinion support
I see their ads all the time, the pics look good but if you look at the details they are just dressed up turds, no clue where they buy their cars from, Auctions who knows!
It’s great to see you assemble the engine with hand tools. This generation has these fancy battery powered tools. They can’t feel what is happening when the bolts are installed. That and they are just too damn lazy to turn wrenches.
I traded my 1411 for a Thermoquad and never looked back....
In order for this tragedy to take place...you need a dishonest, unethical thief (car dealer)...and a buyer (sucker)...The cycle will continue.
Gotta admit I got tired of waiting for a (any) point. Bailed at 5:12.
it was a great fuel injector cleaner on my 5.2 magnum until they changed the formula as of late. now that the new recipe is synthetic, it locks the o2 sensor rich, and i have to reset the computer to unlock it. damn it, the old formula worked really well and was an inexpensive injector cleaner.
I got an el camino had same kind of work took me 7 monthes tp straightin out wow so many nico ppop out ther
Nicely done!!
We've been asking for this for 30 years or more. I remember how happy everyone was at the cheap parts coming in from Japan, Taiwan and China. Not so happy with the quality. But we kept buying the imported junk until all the domestic producers went broke and quality parts were not longer available at any price.
A long time ago Andy Granatelli advised you start a hot rodding project with the brakes. Then steering. Horsepower last
I can see insurance companys refusing to insure ev or cost of insurance will kill them off
A lot of these online internet classic car dealerships sell PIGS WITH LIPSTICK ! A little advice If you can't put your hands on the car don't buy it . if you don't know cars that well take a friend that knows cars . This person that bought this POS got taken advantage of !
That doesn't make sense ? A ford 2003 GT40 has increased in value and it is modern car.
What do you think of the GM X Bodies: Chevrolet Nova, Pontiac Ventura II, Olds Omega, Buick Skylark?
Please talk more about Jeep Cherokee XJ.
The bad thing here is, the all the flaws are really easily spotted. So if you ask a judge to rule a hidden defect. Well, no, its not hidden defect. If you look at the car, they are all there to see. You know nothing about cars.???Well hire somebody that does..You re either blind or stupid, or have too many money for your brain and just dont care. Either way is fine with me, you will learn a lesson here.
Thanks that was awesome 💯😎
One of your best
People spending money they don't have, for something they don't need, to impress people they don't like. That car was probably purchased in a rush, because wow. Maybe it's karma.
The owner did test drive it if it did not go faster then 50 mph i would not buy it
It's a street Funnycar
I would think ever with it saying "as is - no warranty" there's still some recourse because that car is flat ass unsafe. My dad is a used car dealer and if he ever sold anything like that (he wouldn't ) and someone got into an accident he would be held liable for selling an unsafe vehicle. As far as I'm concerned these "puppy mill" consignment places should be put out of business because they sure as hell don't care about the buyers (or anyone else's) safety.🤬
This is, by far, the best podcast I have ever seen/heard. Just so good.
This is the type of stuff you’d see at a votech school that students snuck past the teacher but combine every sneaky student’s tactic and put it on one car. Saw an MGB that was “restored” by a bunch of highschoolers for a class project. It stopped perfectly fine, but only had front brakes. Someone had taken vice grips or pliers and clamped the rear lines so the pedal would be firm. Crazy thing is someone did a perfectly fine brake job. The shoes were new, wheel cylinders were new, all new springs, adjusters, ect. My guess is one or two of the students got assigned brake bleed duty after another group did shoes and just mashed both rear lines to harden the pedal. I put new rear lines on it and bled the system the rears work great.
Gee wouldn't it be cheaper to forego the "restomod" route and put that money instead to a period correct restoration?
I have a huge backround in musclecars and many other cars. I will say that I have no interest any longer. 1959 through 2020 I bought, sold restored over 3000 cars and motorcycles. It was great, but I'm done. I watch this channel thinking how nice it is to be young.
Whoever set this sale up and said this thing is worth 38 grand should get 38 years of prison
Here's the problem Uncle Tony, engineers don't get their hands dirty anymore, and a lot of "practical knowledge" has left that area, it is an entirely white collar profession now. The new generation of "engineers" (glorified 3D modeling artists fresh out of college or some vocational mill most likely) make some sh*t up on their computer screen, maybe run a few calculations or click the verify button, then they go "yeah that looks good" and the part is sent out to be made. That's the problem. Your problem is a perfect representation here... In a vacuum, a smooth fitting and a clamp does work. Now, lets add thermal cycling, pressure, the tolerances of the ID of the hose and the OD of the fitting, and the physical limitations of the style of clamp, and won't you look at that? It slides right off! It's a problem in machining, product design/consulting, and manufacturing at large. Personally, I make plastic injection molds for a living. Our engineering department is, how do I say it respectfully? Naive? Dare I say, irresponsible and negligent? The things they design baffle us on a daily basis, because again, it works on paper but in the real world, it just doesn't work. Common issues are: they don't design things with clearance in mind, they design things to be assembled just fine but zero thought is put into disassembly, they place eyebolts in spots where it doesn't pick it up to the center of mass, they try to cram everything into very tight spaces without thinking hey human hands have to work in this area here, or they straight up don't realize that two things that run through each other are in clamp condition and thus, don't move. It's a daily occurrence. We waste SO, SO, SO much time chasing our tails only to find out it's some stupid design flaw that anybody who has ever turned a wrench in their life would realize doesn't work.
Awesome video !
I see all the P poor work. I heard Tony and saw the paperwork, but my question is, Did Streetside do the work or did they buy it that way, and then sell it to this unsuspecting person?
Love This Thank You Tony
HOLY SHIT!
I bought a car like this - it had enough fuel to get to a pump, then maybe another few hundred yards. Towed back home. Bent valves, coked head, marginal battery, etc etc. But it was great when I rebuilt the engine.
They put a lot of red lipstick on that pig.
WOW!!! The video really gets worse as you go.....TRUE meaning of being butchered...The owner prob. just wanted a red 66 mustang and saved his money and got nothing but a paint job...car is ruined man for what will be needed to fix right for what it is worth...Hope the owner has good luck with justice .....that was really bad!
The front-end swap is ridiculous. That is just plain dangerous. Someone could have been seriously injured or worse.
Those clamps are for plastic hoses not rubber
Welcome to capitalism.
Streetside Classics!! Wow, they advertise in Hemmings Motor News. Shame on them.
All over eBay also....🤬
60’s Valiant with the 170 cube slant six; there’s not a car on the planet that can beat it for practical transportation back then or today.
