How do you select a key to play a sampled sound on Roland V Synth V2

i have an SP-808 that’s been giving me problems. do you know where to find a replacement black and yellow cable that connects to the zip drive? i believe mine is shorting, because i’ve tried multiple drives to no avail

In the mid 90s I played with Roland D-5, and later upgraded to Roland JV80 and to XP10 in the late 90s. All three did very well for my purposes (I was in a Deep Purple cover band), but I remember that there was a D20 in my favorite music store. I always drawn towards the beauty of its appearance, and its built-in sequencer plus floppy. So thank you for the video, it brings back memories🙋‍♂

I successfully upgraded my Roland SP 808 with a 24$ CF CARD READER...I formatted the media card on my PC as a 100zip.. used a 16 GB card.. n portion it to 100mb ZIP.

The sound banks of the XV-5080 contains all the sounds of the previous JV models. The XV5080 has much better DACs than the 1080, that's why the sounds of it have more "weight" and much better low end. The 1080 was a serious piece of gear back then and still today. But the XV-5080 became the heavy artillery of Roland's digital synths. Keep in mind that what really matters, is the quality of the music someone makes, no matter what gear he is using! A friend of mine had the 1080, it is very good synth. I own two XV5080s and I am still using them until today. Great synth and so is the 1080. Thanks for the video!

Hi Roger, good to find this video as I just bought an A880 without much thought as I found it for very cheap. What’s the superpower of this midi box though? Apart from the merging capability (which i’d rarely have a need for), wouldn’t it be the same to have a midi thru box and assign your devices to different midi channels?

Hello, I need 9 tracks to play on this 8 track device to make this work I have to keep a floppy disk in the player with the song I want and I have to overwrite one of the songs in order to get 9 songs. The method in this video seems like a way to play 9 songs, which is great but my question is when loading the songs on to the MC-50 can it swap disks? Not all of my songs are on one floppy disk. Thanks for the video!
