    This is amazing news! Thanks for being the first one to dare to jump in the water! After 10+ years my screen is extremely faded so this is just the best news.

    Thanks, Roger! I tried a few years ago find color screen replacement, but no luck. However, now I’ve ordered a New 4.7" For Kyocera KCG047QV1AA-A21 LCD Display Screen Panel from eBay to update MV-8800 display (I’ll keep original display as backup).

      That’s great to read!
      I’m happy that the MV-community now can buy those screens without any doubt.

    I ordered compatible replacement color LCD display recommended by Roger. On my MV-8800 the new display looked better. The original color LCD was fading for color contrast/accuracy

    Awesome work! I just replaced mine on the MV-8000 with a white lit screen. Better than looking at that green Game Boy screen. Bought it off that guy who sells homemade OP-8’s on eBay. He seems legit from everything I heard. Don’t be afraid to buy his stuff.

      @@theMIDImaniac I sent you a link to the product in an email. He goes by hellogadgets on eBay. I think he has a couple versions with different MIDI options.

      Do you try a color screen on the 8000 ?

    • @FortyThievesSF
      @FortyThievesSF Před 2 lety +1

      @@oliverkhalif3626 no I have not. I don’t believe the 8000 will support a color screen. Just looking at this video the process of changing the screen is different.

    Hello Roger, I notice that you know a lot about LCD screens and Roland keyboards, I am writing to you in desperation in that I have a Roland G-1000 arranger keyboard 1998 model and the LCD is fading I have tried everywhere but to no avail, would you by any chance know of a generic that would work the genuine part no. is ROHM RCM6018 sorry to trouble you, await your reply if you have any advice, Kind regards Noeline

      Buy a VS880 or other cheaper VS model for spares, I'm sure they have the same transport buttons, a weird custom design apparently they are not easy to find otherwise.

      @peterkohlmetzmoller Před rokem

      @@theMIDImaniac I'm thinking of it as well. It might be neat to hack a 5 inch 4:3 vga screen inside theunit - that way you could operate it with a mouse and not having to use an external screen. Do we know for sure that the MV8000 is colorless if you put in this type of display? The service manual is very obscure, I can only find the MV8800, but the units should be identical as far as i have read? What do you think?

      @robinsutcliffe-video_art Před měsícem

      @@peterkohlmetzmoller you would have to hook any vga up to the external vga port, it won't recognize otherwise. It's not set up like a PC, though some architecture is similar.
