In this video I make 1 pattern in 1 go.
I do this frequently to upgrade my skills in menu diving and controlling the features of the Mighty MV!
Check out all the steps I take and learn to do it yourself!
Thanks for watching!
Grtzzz,
Roger

"The Artful Rogier"!!! 😎👌
Yessssss mate!!😉🙌💗🌟 Mmm you been reading my mind what next challenge from me will be🤣 so good!! So so good!
This is why the MV-8800 is still amazing! 👍😊
I totally agree on that statement! 👌🏽🙌🏽
I think this is the last Roland product that has that S-700 series punch and vibe. And lots of RAM !!!
Rogier, this video is absolutely brilliant, you have great talent and have set the bar very high. I have not seen anyone else get even close to how you work the MV, Just brilliant, you should be working for Roland.
Thanks a lot for the compliment. That would be a dream coming true, working for Roland.
what the hell is that crazy mammoth beast? Very cool - always impressed with your finger drumming!
That unit is my trusty 2005 Roland MV-8800. Bought it in 2018 and it's such a beast.
This is a serious DAWless production unit.
Thanks a lot, Seb!
This is why the MV-8800 is still amazing!
Really glad to see another dedicated MV video from you. You are partly the reason I bought an MV 8800 a few weeks ago. After having spent almost 15 years programming on MPC 1000/2500's upgrading to this machine feels incredible.. How do you think the MV compares to the MPC X? This beat is AWESOME by the way!
Hi! Thank you for your message.
Wow, after 15 years making a change to the MV is amazing and that I have been a small part in your decision is also amazing.
How the MV compares to the X?
Okay....this is a real subject for a video because comparing a unit from 2005 with one from 2017 is pretty challenging.
I tell you that I certainly appreciate the fast loading, the amount of connections, the touch screen and the available plugins/effects of the X but when it comes down to sequencing the MV wins.
I love the fact that I can choose between Pattern and Song mode.
The MV recognises sysex, the MV has a great event list editor, the piano roll works good and the sound quality is just grittier than the X.
Yeah...quite some serious workflow differences...
I have to make a video about that....
Respeeeeect! That‘s great!!!
Greeaaat!! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼🤘✌✌
Fire, Roger!! just fire my man!
Thanks, man! Glad you liked it.
I’m preparing a new download pack for MV-users and this was a try out with one of the kits.
You're def a master...!!!
You outdid yourself again bro, saludos!
Aaah, man! Thank you so much.
The MV still is rock solid.
Muchísimas gracias! Un abrazo digital!
Nice!
Thanks, Tristan!
Somehow I feel more confident with my old MV then my new MPC 😅
😍
Sounds great! Refreshing style to create on this box as well. Have been scouting for one for a year or so but they're hard to come by in Europe! Groeten van een Nederlander in Portugal aan een Nederlander in Spanje 😁👍🏻
Hi Sonny!
Thanks a lot for your comment.
If you're interested in an MV, try the MV FB-groups. From time to time there are people selling their MV.
Wat tof! Buren :D
Wij wonen echt tegen de noordgrens van Portugal aan. Als we vliegen, dan altijd via Porto.
Bedankt voor je bericht. Zeer gewaardeerd!

Thanks for the tip! I will keep my eyes peeled. I think it would make an almost limitless combination with my RS7000.
This is awesome! Quick question: do you know if the mv series has the same digital filters as roland’s s series samplers? 750, 760, etc
Thanks a lot!
I’m not a real technician but I do know that the sample engine is almost the same as those S-samplers.
I think it has the same digital filter. It’s the same one as the MC-909.
Those units come all from that same era so it would be logical.
The MV is deep, that’s for sure.
Yes, the MV-8000 and 8800 both use the same filters from the S760 (not the 750 though). It’s the reason the MV has that warm sound and bottom end out the box with no effects or processing.
@@KeysBeMe thanks for the confirmation! 🙌🏽👌🏽
@@KeysBeMe thanks for the info my friend!
How do you have so many pad banks on que for a newly added midi track?
It’s all the time the same patch which contains 6 pad banks.
It’s all prepared in advance to keep the flow going.
For example, the bass line contains only a few notes and all in the same patch.
And you’re able to use 128 tracks with the same patch.
Hope this answers your question.
I will give it try.
