Thank you so much for all your kind messages and support.
On my last video I shared that I lost the joy of making music. Too overwhelmed by the gear in the studio and processes too slow.
Due to you I found the joy again. I sold units and I did a makeover in my studio. More space = more freedom in my head.
Here a pretty long video where I make a chill house beat with my gear.
Nothing really special, just floating around on the MPCX....I'm such a noob right now hahaha
We keep on making music, guys and girls.
Grtzzz,
Roger - Jak na to + styl
Yes!! Welcome back Rogier! Looking forward to hearing more from you again!
Thanks a lot, Seb!
We’re still verrrrry busy here in Spain due to summer (no complaints at all!) and I’m looking forward to do more.
Tomorrow I leave for a few days with my mother and our youngest to our other house in the mountains, where we don’t have internet access and hardly no phone coverage 🙌🏽
So, have to skip coming weekend’s challenge but after that one summer is almost ending hahaha
Thanks for your words!
Glad you are enjoying it😉💗🙌
Nice explanation and song. Keep it on!
Thank you so much. Sorry for the late reply...
I will keep it on :D
Great news! Rogier The MIDI Maniac Rocks!!
Also love the track. Great stuff as usual.
Thanks a lot, my friend!
Happy new purchase !!
I also have it as well as other hardware sequencers. for the production of commercial this is a great car, but for the soul my mv8800 is still the first
Yeah, thanks!
At this point I have to spend time on the X to learn how it works but I feel you totally.
The MV has that crunchy touch.
@@theMIDImaniac Yes, you are right, new equipment always takes a lot of time, sometimes even very much, but after months and perhaps years you will always learn something new. I wish you success in this, my dear friend !!!
Great music! Keep creating brother!
Thanks a lot! Appreciated, your comment! I will continue with creating and exploring this new unit.
That's great you didn't get rid of the MV8800. Your MV tutorials are by far the best on the internet and are the reason I discovered your channel.
That's awesome to read. Thank you so much.
Soon I will do new MV-tuts ;-)
Gracias a ti por seguir dándonos bellos momentos musicales y compartiendo tu conocimiento y experiencia! :) Abrazo grande!
🙌🏽🙌🏽muchísimas gracias por tus palabras!
Son estos comentarios que me dan energía para seguir.
Un abrazo digital!
The XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Yeah man💯💯💯
What a unit!
You pushed me into the right direction. The 2.10 release was the main reason for not going for the Maschine+. Also the ins/outs are just awesome.
Can't wait to knowing this unit better. It's now a few days here and I'm overwhelmed by it.
Awesome. Glad u like it. Sounds good 👌
very pleasing to see you making this!
Thanks a lot! The MPC is giving me new energy. It's a fast unit and that makes the workflow very nice.
@@theMIDImaniac it sure is. I come from a Deluge which is pretty fast as well but no screen and many shortcuts to remember. … never looking back
Thanks for the joy you give us with your amazing videos. So pleased you kept the MV8800. Like your new setup!
That's just awesome to read. You know, I just record this and when people like it, it makes me happy to.
And yes! People warned me about selling the MV. Happy that it is still here :D
Thanks for your support as always.
✌✌✌
Hope to see you soon in HWJ-weekend challenge.
Have to know my gear a little bit better but I can't wait to join again.
Have a good one and thanks a lot!
@@theMIDImaniac Cheeeers Rogier !! Great stufff ✌✌✌👌🏼
MPC X is the only gear I can think of that can substitute the MV 8800 as the heart of the studio. Nice music. You’re on a journey indeed.
Thank you!
You're right, it could replace the MV but the combo is also awesome :D
The vs2480 dope I'm still using the 2400 and I love it!!!!
I totally understand you. Somehow I prefer the 2400 over the 2480. I think because it is smaller.
Enjoy your unit!
I know i'm a bit late, but anyway welcome back my friend...from my heart, yt is not the same with out you...
Good people never are late!
Thanks a lot for your words and we stay in touch!
🙏🏽🙌🏽👌🏽
I really liked your music! Please show us how you ran it all together, including the daws and software if applicable.
Thanks a lot, Elvin!
Great suggestion to make a video about that.
It could help always someone.
My setup is hardware-only, so completely standalone.
Congrats on the mpc
Just awesome....just awesome...
But your packs will stay on my MV hahaha
@@theMIDImaniac just emailed you my expansions for the MPC hope you enjoy!!!
Nice glad to see you happy and making music.
Thank you so much for taking your time to watch and to leave a comment here.
Yes, it feel really good to be 'back' again.
A80! Good to see a fellow user. I have moved mine around many times (with great difficulty) but it keeps coming back to my main setup because it's just so simple and immediate to adjust it how I want. The poly AT is there, but doesn't get used much due to me wanting to protect my wrists!
It's indeed one big heavy MF hahaha.
I've adjusted my AT by changing a resistor.
This is the link to the video I've made some months ago.

Just to prevent the wrist pain ;-)
@@theMIDImaniac Thanks, you've given me new hope :-) That AT mod will be a good rainy day project for me.
@@aanon2550 That's why I did it in Feb this year :D :D
And the screen! So awesome now.
your definitely find your direction , lesson what you have produced, I love it , well done and keep going please, and don’t forget the most important: you enjoyed it
You hit the nail on the head - it is indeed the joy what counts.
Thank you very much and I will keep on making music and videos.
Really like the track you created could listen to that forever and glad to hear you've rediscovered inspiration
Thank you so much and great that you liked the style of the track. Just a simple loop but it floats away.
Roger, great to see the addition of MPC-X to your studio. I am using an MPC Live 2 + MV-8800, and other external Roland, Korg, and Yamaha synths. I love the MPC MIDI integration, which you demonstrated in your video. Good to see you progressing and happy to see you enjoying music creation again.
The community advised me to look for the MPC-line and I don't regret that at all.
It is an addition which was welcome for my setup and glad that I kept the MV.
Yes, the MIDI integration is great and I'm still finding out how I can get deeper into it.
Thank you for taking the time to place a comment!
I knew you would keep the V-Synths and Mv-8800. I just knew it :)
Hahaha! Man...those units are just pure fire!
It was easy to ditch the JD-800/VS2480/WavestationAD/VariOS but the V's and MV will stay.
JV-1080 and JD-990 also survived hahaha
@@theMIDImaniac Definitely never sell that JD-990. I'm actually going to buy one soon myself. I'm also keeping all of my VS-2xxx's as well. I really don't like recording on computers. Did you keep your SP-808 as well ?
@@treangle of course 😉🙌🏽🙏🏽
Welkom terug Roger!
Really glad you rediscovered your inspiration.
Thanks a lot, my friend!
Some months of reconsideration did their job well.
Rogier, really nice to see how you approach the music making. I just wish I had a quarter of your talent, while I can make noises and beats I struggle with musical structures so much.
More importantly good to see you having a good time doing it.
Thank you so much for your compliment, Doc!
Enjoying what you're doing is indeed the most important part of it.
You know, sometimes you just don't have to think about structure, just about creating something what feels good to you.
And when it does, for sure it has more structure than you thought.
@@theMIDImaniac that's good to know, will keep plugging away.
Very good!
Thank you! Really appreciated!
I have an MPC Live 2. You got into this at a good time with the 2.10 update.
Yeah, people from the community told me about this line and when I saw the update I was sold.
Also all the connectors on the MPC-X are what I was looking for.
Super cool machines!
Thanks!
Happy to see you’ve chosen the MPC!!
Dear Nic! Man, it was Lisa who told first about the update and then you told me about the MPC-line.
Thanks for pointing me into the right direction. It has indeed that BCR incorporated.
Now looking for it to get the most juice out of it hahaha.
Thanks a lot!
@@theMIDImaniac you’ve achieved in one Jam what I took a month to discover :D :D I will carefully follow what you’re doing (as usual but even more)..
@@dearvice Thank you, Nicolas.
I think it has to do with the background of the other machines.
The basics are almost the same but other names are used.
Project/Group/Program/Patch/Parts and so on.
The overall point is that every synth uses LFO/AMP/RES/CUTOFF/ADSR. When I see those words I know what kind of influence it has on the sound.
But man...so much to explore :D :D :D
so Great! completing the track to final :8080 or mpc x ? (if you have to choose the one) ?
I would choose the MV due to the VGA-screen and mouse.
Also it offers a deeper editor
Gracias a ti Roger.Nos encanta verte feliz y de vuelta.
THE MIDIMANIAC HAS RETURNED.🎹
Muchísimas gracias por tus palabras!
Estoy pensando en hacer sesiones en directo aquí en mi canal.
Creo va a ser divertido.
Thank you so much for your believe in me.
Really appreciated!
Yo Rog I'm glad you came back to making music & videos no wonder I haven't seen you. How much for the 2480.
My main man Dev! Sorry for the late reply!
Happy to back indeed!
The 2480 is still here. No interest from people out there.
I'm selling it for 400€ with 3x VS8F-2 card. The VS8F-3 card is already sold.
@@theMIDImaniac is that $400 USD If so I will take it. Do you have have the R-Bus as well?
How much is shipping. Do you know?
@@mainmandev It is in euros.
Shipping will be expensive from Spain to US. And also duty import.
The unit weighs more than 30 Kgs.
But I can always check for you.
Mail me: roger@themidimaniac.com
@@theMIDImaniac ahh wish you were selling this when I was buying one. I paid twice that with one less card. I imagine yours is in nicer shape too.
Comparison video Please,
Will be done and without the emotional talking hahaha.
A comparison between a unit from 2007 and 2017! ✌🏽🙌🏽
I lost my drive to write when my sp808ex Zip drive died 4 times with hours of work on it. Now I do everything in cakewalk or sonar and if I want to play live I bulk dump everything on to my mc505 & sp808ex, but never work and save on them. I do run my midi tracks through the mc505 to be used for sound generation and to save those sound patch on the device and backed up on the smart media card. Audio samples are on the computer and can be dropped on a Zip disk and use track 1 on the mc505 to midi trigger those samples on the sp808ex. I have all my audio and midi tracks to correlate with all the tracks on my equipment. I also have jp8000, jp8080, mc909, rd-700nx, moog mother 32
Hey Mike!
I didn't sell my SP-808 and I'm still looking for a Zip Drive Replacement.
Amazing how you do your things on those machines.
And you've got the JP-brothers :D :D
Thanks a lot!
@@theMIDImaniac yeah my jp’s I bought when they first came out. Nice to hear you are still on that. I may look in to the mv8800, look awesome.
Interesting your wife was angry at you wanting to sell your gear. 🤣
Serious! She looked at me and those eyes!! OMG!
Never sell v synth!
I totally agree on that statement!
Nice track, didn't like the clap.
I totally agree with you. Too loud. Disturbs the feeling and floating. Have to learn how to switch easy between different samples.
I quite liked the clap but I was listening through $3 headphones connected to an iPhone!
@@haydnr1631 🤣🙏🏽🙌🏽
@@theMIDImaniacWhat a fantastic track!, yes when the 👏 came in, aaargh, expecting a gentle ride cymbal or half open hi hat.
