Why you have tingling and pain in the ARM or LEG? Maybe a pinched nerve ⚡️⚡️
At age 40 I've been dealing with almost all of this throughout my spine..several injuries in my lifetime but I just want to feel OK 😢
Is this an anterior or posterior procedure? Also, since you’re removing bone from the vertebrae, does this pose additional risk to the spinal column? The bone is meant to protect the spinal column. Also does the bone from being cut away develop a tendency to regrow with excess as in scar tissue?
Can you please comment on you tube chiropractor RING DINGER TURN THAT BELLY INTO JELLY?? It looks really dangerous .
I can’t wait to have surgery with you. I think that’s what I have at this point. I already have numbness going down my damn leg 😢 the shots in my back definitely did not work so I definitely had to make appointment with you
Hi Dr Chester...I have spinal stenosis of L4 , 5 and S1 which has greatly affected my ability to walk, can't walk a longer distance without pain in my back. I feel like my doctor is dragging his feet. I am taking meloxicam, and gabepentin...without these medications I would be in agony. We tried one injection which did not work. Going to try again to see if they can get a result. Is there any surgical intervention that would fix this problem and give me back my life?
Hey there, Dr. Donnally does about 15 new patient telemedicines💻 every week. Here is the best path forward: 1- email your insurance card to Spine@TSCspine.com (We don’t take HMOs or Medicaid, but can private pay, unless Medicaid) 2- if we take that insurance THEN upload your images to my portal for your 1st visit. 3- I must have X-rays and MRI, X-rays are critical! “Just” MRI isn’t enough and is a misuse of your time. It needs to be from last 12 months. Nothing older is needed or wanted. 4- You need to get your CD of your X-ray and MRI (imaging centers will never send them to us) 5- On the top of my website (www.DonnallySpine.com) is the link to UPLOAD images, from YOUR HOME! 🥰(or at a CVS with Physician LookUp Code k5037438) 6- To recap: email us, get CDs, THEN upload! Step by step: czcams.com/video/HpKOfI_1FSs/video.html - Again- no HMO, no Medicaid. Must have your X-rays and MRI.
What is the maximum number of levels that is safe to fuse? Reason I ask a neurosurgeon wanted to fuse three levels in my neck and four levels in my lumbar spine. I believe the more levels you fuse the riskier. The surgery is and the chances for failed fusion are greater. Am I correct?
Not a limit, based on what is needed. Most are 1-2 levels; bigger curves need more
When you do a fusion, can you also fuse arthritic facet joints?
That’s 1000% the way I do it
Run from a laminectomy
No way
@@DonnallySpineConsult yes way
Very human😊

I had a lumbar laminectomy for spinal stenosis a year later I have pain what could it be doctor😢
Not sure 🤔
Do you take Medicare and United healthcare
How many patients end up with post laminectomy syndrome after this surgery?
Varies based on technique. Could be 5-15%, maybe fixed but a fusion
What are your thoughts on bone stimulators after surgery?
I support them for sure
Could this procedure lead to a reduction in strength and flexibility?
Not really
Dr Jeffrey Zucker he’s been doing this for years. It’s time this is the new standard. Why isn’t this done everywhere now?? No excuses.
A burr is still a great way to do it! I’m not saying this is the only way, but it’s a way I like do it

My lumbar thecal sac is half way pinched on L4/5 from a hurniated disc 5s1 is severe arthritis. I had a bilateral steroid injection. It went from 7 to 9-10 pain.. Loss bladder bowel control. Burning aching groin pain. Pain from right side back around entire hip. Cant even touch it. All lumbar disc are bulged. Now the worst problem is moderate to severe stenosis c4-7 c4-6 are flattening my left spinal cord from two hurniated discs both legs numb tingling. Left side extremities worse. Im left handed. I got two surgeons who gave me a different surgery plan. A two level fusion and a two level disc replacement. I dont know what decision to make. (This was from falling on ice at work) I dont know what to choose. Thank you for for explaing things. Im still confused and scared. 😢
Not sure, sounds like you’re in pretty terrible shape and have made time to see two experts. Both want to help you. Seems like it’s pretty bad and you have a great options of relief.
I was in agonizing pain from all three of these issues for years, at the L4-L5 level. Finally gave in and had laser surgery procedure, and OH what a difference it made! Still have pain when I over-do it, but SO glad I had this done! It has dramatically changed the quality of my life! Thank you so much for sharing these videos!
Of course
I have lower back pain that presents after walking for 2 hours. A CT scan showed Broad Based Disc Protrusions at L4-L5 and L5 to S1. Spondylosis of the lumbar spine. I have NO leg pain whatsoever. The first surgeon suggested a spinal fusion and I said NO. Then he said 2 Coflex spacers. I got a second opinion and he said if I don't have leg pain, the Coflex spacers would do more harm than good. He suggested a laminectomy. Any thoughts?
Not really, would need to see images. Don’t do coflex

Glad it was helpful!

I was in a wreck 2 years ago of course went to chiropractor who was a joke well now for 2 years my life has been miserable I can’t do anything with my kids I’ve gained weight because I can’t walk longer than 2-6 min before my whole bottom half goes completely numb and muscles in back start to spasm and burn … only way to describe is in school I ran track and when we had to push and not stop your legs go numb and feel like jello, I have to immediately lean over something but I also start having a panic attack I can’t go to store that had a cart because I am able to lean over and push cart around, I have no insurance so sadly I’ll be living like this which is so sad because I no longer can be a mom that I once was I can’t take my kids to park I can’t do anything because I can’t make it through a parking lot even if parked in front, also I have scoliosis my top spine was fused at age 11 it was found at age 5 but lower is still slight curved, I’m 37
Sorry to hear this
Hey, just a question on what I should avoid doing with this hardware in my back, I ended up breaking my back from a car accident but that’s besides the point, I’ve been scared for the past 2 years to do certain things I used to like a handstand for example lol, my question is, should I avoid doing stuff like that, that causes a lot of stress to my back? My doctors never rlly told me besides not to play contact sports lol
Once fused it’s fused and fine. Need to worry about other levels
I just had spinal fusion for spondylolithesis 3 months ago . I’m starting to have less pain. Hopefully, over time, I’ll have less and less. I’m glad I did the surgery. Life was hell before. Thanks for this video.
Okay!
I’ve got severe foraminal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, a herniated disk and bone spurring at s5/l1, the pain is no joke. Unfortunately I’ve been told I’m too young to have anything done to it, but I was laid off work for note being able to sit and stand for long. It’s ridiculously painful. Not sure how I’m supposed to work until I’m in my 60s when it’s this painful in my 30s!
I just disagree w so much of that. Too young? I mean 30 is young, but what are you supposed to do if you don’t fix it, disabled? Just bad advice. Take your life back 🫡
Are there exercises to fix this
Yes
@@DonnallySpineConsult what exercises , what are they called

What if you have all the symptoms of cervical myelopathy; I've had xrays that clearly show bones spurs and arthritis; then I have neck pain; numb hand; heart palpitations; even hot flashes (red face); and getting weak arms and legs recently too; BUT I went to a neurologist and they did 3 mris on my neck and above; and yet the neurologist didn't find anything that explains my horrible symptoms......its so frustrating.....because my physical therapist, who admitted he is not even trained to read an mri showed me a pretty good pinch by one of my bone spurs in the spinal column....how much narrowing is necessary before there is a major problem that needs correcting....my neck pain and symptoms are awful and getting worse....but apparently the pics dont explain them.....I've read about cases where they miss the right diagnosis....is that common? One thing too is my symptoms are greatly effected by weather changes.....my symptoms get awful when the weather changes etc....I'll be honest; not all neurologists are created equal.....I can tell you know ten times more than my last neurologist....thats scary but reality
Thanks for the share; look forward to hearing mofe
Literally thank God for talented people like you. I think I may have Cervical Myelopathy. My symptoms used to be neck pain, numbness in my hand, heart palpitations; but in the last 6 months new and scarier symptoms are piling on including hot flashes (red face); dull burning like lower back pain; and weakness in my limbs.....scary stuff to say the least. The problem is alot of the neurologists are not as smart as you are. I wish you were in Missouri. I meet with another neurologist August 8th; hoping they can help me.......whats crazy is my symptoms seem to come and go with weather changes (maybe barometric pressure?); but the symptoms are happening more and more often. I'm on a mission to get fixed....another problem is it takes 6 months to get into see any of these neurologists.
Reach out w x rays and mri
@@DonnallySpineConsult I will work on that....thank you!

Why can't we get surgery . I can't take the constant crippling pain any longer. Doc's keep running me in circles ordering more tests that I've already done.

How long have you been seeing the surgeon? I’m having my 5th laminectomy with fusion on Monday, and I went back to the surgeon last Nov, so it’s taken 8 months to complete all the tests and office visits and then wait for the surgery date. This is pretty typical.

My MRI results showed I have stenosis at L4-S1, posterior/lateral, at the facet joints. I’ve had back pain since I was 13 following a sports accident. Would this work potentially down the line? I’m only 26 so I know surgery should only be a last resort but I’ve seen several physios over the years and although they’ve helped, my back pain still bothers and effects my quality of life
Once very limited let me help you
My 90/year old Dad had this done. He has l2-l3 l3 - l4 and l4 - l5 he could not walk or stand. The surgeon did the 2 worst compression and cleaned it up. Now he has no shooting pain, in his butt/ thighs and waist. He still has some pain but he can walk now w a walker

My mother was diagnosed with sciatica. Her doctor and physical therapist focused on her lumbar spine. However, they failed to understand that her kyphosis caused the compression in her lumbar spine. Therefore, I used yin yoga and aerial yoga to work on her fascia and improve her strength and mobility, primarily in her thoracic spine. I also worked on her piriformis to break up any adhesions. In addition, I used a towel to pull behind the base of her skull, similar to a y-strap, for traction. In 2 years, she went from being unable to sleep well and unable to walk more than a mile to sleeping through the night and running a 10k. Her kyphosis and scoliosis have noticeably improved. It’s important to note that I didn’t use enough force when pulling the towel to jerk her body back. It was much more gentle. If used in this way, I believe a y-strap is extremely beneficial.

Had a acdr surgery 5 months ago after my mri showed prominent bulging in c4/c5 disc causing significant spinal cord stenosis with spinal cord compression . There is associated cord oedema/gliosis . There was also a congenital fusion of c5/c6 . Mild bulging at c3/c4 and c6/c7 . At c4/c5 there is disk desiccation and prominent bulging ,this causes spinal canal stenosis and decal SAC compression with complete effacement of csf around the cord Still have hand numbness weak grip . Balance and gait problems. Close my eyes and I fall backwards within 2 seconds . Also have leg weakness with pains down the legs and feet ,with bowel problems . No sign of getting better .
