Don't let the Grief hate distract you from the fact that Bowmasters has also been a poison. Literally the only reason Bowmasters is getting less hate right now is because it's not good against Rescaminator. The metagame is so inbred that everything revolves around whether or not you auto-lose to turn 1 double Grief. Psychic Frog works better for the game 1 plan, and Dauthi Voidwalker is better in the mirror. When Grief is banned in August, Bowmasters needs to go as well, or we will return to the extremely boring "Bowmaster your Bowmaster" play pattern.

So my friend only brings optimized decks that either win turn 4 consistently or plays every counter spell, to a casual table, she targets most of her removal, counters, and damage towards me, and when I bring it up she just says that she likes building decks like this. The only reason I don’t run stuff like it is because it feels scummy or it’s extremely boring, should I be a little upset or should I just ruin my own fun and solely run optimized

Rigged matchups so like it will never get better

I feel like the only people that really, REALLY want it banned are the people that can afford fast mana and just don’t like that sol ring is available to people with “lower power” decks 😂 (this is partially a joke)

In my opinion, fast mana rocks (ones that provide more mana on the turn they drop than they cost) are just too swingy for casual non competitive commander. My group is toying with our own errata for it where it etbs tapped and only taps for one.

Sol ring can often be better than a black lotus and is most of the time IN COMMANDER while mana crypt is a card its extremely restricted in price so not many people have access to it, sol ring is probably one of the most powerful cards ever made

I feel like sol ring is balanced because its just 2 generic. Outside of artifact decks or colourless decks 90% of your spells will have a colour cost so its not that broken especially when there's a playstyle all around getting extra lands

Apart from cards that break in a multiplayer format (prophet of kruphix), nothing should be banned in edh. If a table of 3 other people can't slow down the guy with the sol ring, then they are either terrible at playing or deck building or both.

Stax is for everyone all of the time. Ever since wizards started printing busted value engine legendaries that go off in big combo turns, you basically need a counterspell to not die on turn 6-7. Stax gives non-blue decks a chance to stay relevant. Everyone should be able to interact. This just happens to be in a way that punishes greedy deck building promoted by recent design philosophy. It’s like trying to race out of an escape room being built around you. Beat the clock against an evolving enemy. Far as I can tell, the Only people that don’t like stax are people who don’t like to think. I don’t even mean that as a jab, it’s just true. Sometimes casting dumb creatures and brainlessly turning them sideways is exactly what I’m in the mood for. You can’t do that against a stax deck

Honestly I have decks that don't even run it; not because they don't need mana, but that they need colored mana more. Command Tower is in the same boat for me; I don't run it in less than two colored decks and generally only in three colors or more.

My heliod, the radiant dawn deck is as close as I will ever get to playing group hug.

Dies to removal is bad argumentation period, especially in commander where you're attempting to tell 3 players to make sure they have room for your problem cards and 2 other singleton decks problem cards that no spot removal can target all types, save for a board wipe that even cedh players don't like "Play more removal" is a sentence ruining decks

We need grief banned, fury already got the axe and getting 8 grief triggers just that alone is 8 cards from your hand to gy. Now add like duress, cavern bat, lily even just make hand hate a little to strong. Especially where we can still use ensnaring bridge and rack to just drain opponents out onowing they wont have a reaction unless fhey top deck

If you(not you but in general) believe that Sol Ring should be banned in EDH then youre a crappy player. Do people really complain about others using Sol Ring? It makes the game so much better.

When every deck has mana acceleration like Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Ancient Tomb, Gemstone Caverns, etc. it becomes a lot more balanced because everyone's playing a turn ahead

In commander I feel like hitting for lethal commander damage is a flex. No matter if it was 21 damage from a 1/1 or from a voltron commander. Like if I hit you 3 times with Marika, I either performed or you didn't. Then again, I made 25 copies of soul's attendant, and commander damage with gaining 25 life per critter is likely the only way to squeeze out a win.

I played a Yuma deck. Forest, Sol Ring, a mill artifact I don't remember. I had my commander and 6 tokens on turn 4 or 5, only for my entire board to be wiped by a Balefire Dragon every turn.

It also works when a player teferis pros out and you play insult/injury to get that last bit of damage to 21. They phase in to lose to commander damage.
