Considering how small of a pool RC qualifiers are in Texas, you could do that in America too.

I mean, I witnessed stuff like this when I played Yugioh. Friends would sweep local events and then 'split' the top prize in order to avoid damaging w/L ratios and pad themselves.
IMO, the words 'competitive' and 'integrity' don't belong in the same sentence. As long as something is on the line, ppl will exploit and cheat their way to the top (observe ANY cEDH event with prize support and wait for the inevitable revelation that someone cheated)

Competitive integrity died when angleshooting became an accepted and standard practice.

@@icysalvoyt2689 Basically rules lawyering or taking advantage of opponents' lack of rules knowledge in a scummy way

"Competitive integrity died when people followed the rules."

What? Angleshooting has existed in magic since the very beginning. Back when cheating was a very well-known thing. According to your statement, magic has never had any competitive integrity.

Bro this happens in Somerset KY, at a place called Local game store the owners and most the players there shun the ppl that don’t lose to the person that is meant to win the RCQ
The owners are in on it too.

Literally more pay to play lmao. Typical magic the gathering. At least some things never change.

also, fun in magic is dead. standard isnt played and much more expensive then it should be; pioneer is a combo fest where every deck tries to cheat; modern rotates once every 2 years; legacy still cant be afforded

The only fun left is pauper and limited. That's the only magic i play now. I moved on to Lorcana.

Try premodern. Its like legacy eithout all the new busted cards. Lots of old classics to try! And you can proxy xpensive cards

I mean you already have to buy the decks, and some decks are better than others. Might as well pay for an invite too. Just call it an entrance fee.

Sending a letter to wotc does nothing. At best, wotc would just use this as a publicity stunt to show that they are doing something. At worst, the already limited prizing support would get lesser.
