- Growth seems to be going around, and I want to talk about it dang it!
It's a big part of life I hadn't seemed to pay a lot of attention to in the past.

Excellent edition of Midweek Mumblings! Keep sticking with the "growth mindset." It's a real thing and always moves us in a positive direction. Even more, it gets us out of ruts we all get stuck in from time to time.
Thanks pal! I’m glad you’re on the same sort of path. See you soon.
Mornin' Josh. Full disclosure: I just watch your channel because I dig your sponsor. Appreciate the significant uplift you're providing on Wednesdays!
Hi friend. I’m fortunate to have a decent sponsor. I’m glad you get a lift out of this. Merry Christmas.
Thanks for sharing. I think that is one of the cool things with RJ the Bike Guy, is he is always looking for a different technology to play around with. The "test it out," really hits for me since I'm always doing the same with bags, racks, pedals, gloves, bikes, etc...is just so fun and interesting.
Thanks a bunch. I'll have to agree with the fun/interesting. I haven't seen R.J. put out anything new in a long time. Maybe I don't have my settings to where I'm notified when he does. Guess I'll have to check on that.

-Bob Dylan (I think)
Stopping by the bike shop Saturday morning for Erie By Cycle coffee and an 80s Punk Rock kid button!
I’m not very knowledgeable about Bob Dylan, but I can get to that.
I’ll see you there!!!
Great conversation, always enjoy your honesty, you are a good person. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season . Chuck
Thank you, Chuck! Happy Holidays my friend.
It's never too late to bloom. We were always part of a shared a friend group back then but never were "direct" friends. One of my best memories to this day was you and I traveling in your candy van going to the Perkins and you and I jamming to the song Superstitious along the way when it popped on the radio. I had similar childhood like you, same story -- you're so smart why aren't you XXXXX. In the end I found my own way and have done fairly well for myself. The key for me was understanding that my personal happiness was more important than those expectations. Like you, I'm in my last year where I can say I'm in my 40's and going, what do I want for the rest of my life. I love coming by and seeing your videos regardless of what you talk about. I look forward to seeing you continue to grow either here on CZcams or wherever you head. Josh in a slightly different circumstances I'm almost positive you and I would have been probably more direct friends but it's awesome seeing you here. FWIW -- you have always been an object lesson for me. You forged your own path, and you seem to be doing mostly OK at this point. There is no shame to be had about your past and I would say you should be quite proud of where you are today. Continue forging on my friend.
Thanks so much Bill! All is actually going very well here! I hope to see you soon under much better circumstances than last time.
Lots to unpack, and so much I want to comment on. This is an incredibly introspective time of year for most people I believe. Growth, change, and progression make us all better for sure. Always moving forward. You are awesome on camera. Your passion is inspiring. Most people don’t know what a massive effort it takes to make a great video. I appreciate your work and I thank you for it. And yes, you should be rewarded for the effort. I look forward to seeing you hit 1000, and man, I’m hoping the same for me at some point. Take care!
Gosh, thanks so much! I love what you put out, I learn something new every time!
When I started my cycling adventure, the hot setup was half step plus grany.. something like 52 48 and a 28..with this setup you had feew duplicate gears and a bailout for the hills.. like you, I am not sold on the one by thingy. Thank you for the great content..
I’m very interested in what they are calling a compact. 50/34 or something close with a wide ish range cassette.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Much appreciated!!!
Sometimes, we come across people in our lives (or on the internet) that we just resonate with. There's a lot of things you talk about here, that I've experienced, or am experiencing as well. Quitting drinking 9 years ago, was the beginning of my "growth". Bikes play a huge part in my growth. Life is a beautiful journey, even when it isn't. There's opportunities for growth, in just about everything we do. Appreciate the video Josh. Merry Christmas fella. Take care.
I’ve typed out a reply twice now, but it doesn’t seem to want to stick. So I’ll just say I appreciate your response a great deal, and hope you have a fantastic Christmas. Thanks so very much!!!
Thanks for the little cameo. Threw us for a loop for a second lol.
Absolutely!!! I was worried that it might be misconstrued that it was related to the “I see you “ part. I think you and Nova are great! Merry Christmas to you both!!!
@@EriebyCycle I can totally relate to the alcohol. I don't know when to say when and that leads to many different problems. I commend you on giving it up. I quit cold turkey for well over a year during stricter pandemic times and felt really good about it. I'll just leave it at that for now. Anyway... Thanks and Merry Christmas to you.
Russ from Path Less Peddled did a quest for the proper pronunciation of Panniers, and came up with "panyers"' - I think. He has a video on that. I have tried 1x on the street as a commuter/grocery getter, but I ride in a hilly area, and there is not enough gear range for my old legs. Peace and joy to you too, Josh Gone!
Thanks John. I’ll have to see if I can find that episode. I’m testing what I believe is commonly called a compact… 48/34 front rings and in my case an 11 - 32 cassette. I’ll let you know how it works out.
Always good to hear from you!
Here's to sobriety, merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas my friend!
Hey Josh! Big fan of the channel and your views on the activities/topics in your videos. I have a question/subject for your potential Q & A video.
Between the guests in some your videos and being on your local news recently, it seems like highlighting bike infrastructure and commuting are important to you. Questions - are you involved in any bicycling advocacy groups? Do you mind sharing your experience with building a biking community?
Cheers!
Hi Johnathan. Thanks for the kind words. I’d be happy to talk about that. Thank so much for asking!
I think liberation is growth. The ability to let go. Out with the old, in with the new. Attachment is the opposite and it's also the root to anxiety... at least I think so. As humans, I feel that our main purpose is to grow in the terms of progression and evolving. And if your stuck, it's because your attached. Idk just my 2 cents...
Anywho... good to see ya friend! Appreciate a MWM before Christmas! Happy Day!!
I think you’re probably right about attachment there. Thanks so much friend! You’ve continually shown up for this nonsense for a long time, and I’m very grateful!
@EriebyCycle I'm glad to be here man! Learned a lot from this channel and made a friend in the process! I can't believe it's been 2 years. When you said that, it kind of shocked me. It has been 2 years. That's just crazy to me!
Seems like yesterday, and a lifetime ago at the same time. Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend! I hope it’s the best one yet.
@EriebyCycle it sure does. Puts things in perspective as well.
Merry Christmas to you and yours also! I hope it's full of love and laughter, plus donuts and bike accessories, but mainly donuts!! Lol
@@billywood9717 I suspect a metric ton of coffee and some donuts will figure in for sure.
Love ya guy.
Not in the cards? Maybe if had a full deck ……
Happy Holidays!!!
Hahahahaha!!! Thanks friend! Not sure I’ve ever had a full desk either… either that or mine was stacked with jokers.
Happy Crimbo my friend!
C’mon man. The missing cards were ON the bikes as kids.
I still struggle to NOT run over every pop can I see!
