candy paints always looks so stunningly beautiful on matte finish...thanks for the tutorial!
Once again, thanks for the inspiring video! I am really starting to think that the crystal FX paint is the way to go on the rear suspension of my '94 Cannondale Super V project. I painted it an another bike after being inspired by your other videos. The end results were decent but I want to fix some mistakes I made ( On the Super V it is tiny thumbprint left in the 2K clear coat that wasn't quite completely cured when I moved the bike off the paint stand) and the second reason I want to repaint the bike is to challenge myself more.
FYI, I also attempted the crackle finish paint job on my '94 Cannondale Delta V.. I couldn't get the crackle to work the way I wanted, so I got busy and sanded down the bike again and repainted it a Acid Green to Titanium Metallic fade.
Thank you for the inspiration to get my creative ideas going.
The matte color gave it a completely different look, good job !
Just the best guy on CZcams for giving us the brilliant tips , and his craftsmanship is second to none . Cheers from Australia 👍
Your videos gave me the confidence, as well as the vital tips to do my own frame paint using spray cans. I learned that you must take the time to follow the steps properly, especially the on the frame preparation, and to spend the extra money on a 2K clear coat. Your work is incredible, and thanks for sharing! 👍😁
Update; new frame? 😂😂
So glad I found your channel, a lot to learn from you! Thank you for all the lessons you teach, for free. Ignore the annoying herd of people that cannot do a simple Google search themselves for a product they need. You do amazing work my friend. Greetings from Holland.
The color you picked is beautiful the Mat finish is perfect Great job
I'm absolute fan !!!!! another nice job and tutorial !!!!!!!! Many thanks Martin !!! :) :)
So cool man, you've got a gift for helping people understand things!
If only there was a way to press thumbs up multiple times. Loved that paintjob.
Martin, Ive seen a good number of your videos and I Knew you are good at what you do. But I just realised I enjoy your answers in the comments section even more! :D
Another unbeleavable paint job! You are amazing! Much respect!
Okay, I did this and was having issues with the effects paint beading up when applied to the frame.. I then tried it with dish soap and it worked, but the crystals weren't large enough for me. So, I tried it again.
Don't forget to shake the ox gall! I thought I had a bad batch when I tried to coat the frame with a 2% ox gall/water mixture and it beaded again but then accidentally knocked the bottle of ox gall over when I went to reach for it for a second batch and noticed it started foaming. Gave it a quick shake, added it to the mixture and it worked like a charm.
Thanks, Martin! My friend is going to love the amazing paint job!
Today I started shopping for this paint job! Added to my collection of Montana Gold. I have to wait to get the Candy colors but found a local supply (in the new year after our Christmas break). I have just purchased a second hand Full Carbon Track bike frame that had Stickers....I cannot stand for that, so, I measured and drew the decals to get stencils cut and removed all the stickers. I have the perfect blank canvas to do this paint job, I just can't wait to get this done and have the most unique paint job on the track! You inspire so many and love your work....see how I go. You beauty! Merry Christmas.
This is SO sick! Thank you for sharing !!!
Another amazing video and end result, thank you...I almost feel like I could do this
Just discovered your channel. That's amazing!! Also, the video quality is great, congrats!
That was dope! I prefer the shiny clear coat, but the matte looks beautiful as well! Thx!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your video this is simply an amazing look for any bicycle!

You did it again what a great looking frame.
Martin you’re the best! 🎉
OMG... 5:51 the finish looks perfect that way it was, just a clear coat and its done!
blows my mind every time. makes it seem so easy. LOL!
Great work as always 👍👍the finish is mental 😎😎
Thank you for the very beautiful and very informative video, and for the inspiration to paint my TREK EMONDA!
Final rendering is unique and fabulous ! Great job. I would be afraid of damaging it 😉 !
I've done three bike paints myself lately, and this is something that I absolutely have to test out next summer. This is some next level stuff!! I'm already thinking about leaving some other colour under decals, and the using the awesome crystal pattern everywhere else on the frame :D Anyway, stunning work, and what a great instruction video! ❤️🔥 Thanks for the pro tips! Now I just have to find similar paints from Finland AND a new bike project... 😄
I really like that video the paint job came out sick as hell good work
I don`t understand.

Holy crap man that's AMAZING!!
Looks good!
My favorite painter all time ever
Looks absolutely amazing !! you are a chemical artist ;-) 10/10
Love to see this with a glow in the dark with the crystal effect if possible. Maybe a glow in the dark base layer would work, I dunno it might look good.
Amazing! Love your videos!
Thanks so much!
The best bike artist is back!
Thanks
I am looking for various techniques to use on mannequins and this technique I will definitely try, thanks for your simple explanation. you are funny too!
i wish you were in canada.i want to do my antique car in crystal effects..id have the only one around.i love your work
.i do metalflake paint but id like to try your method..once again beautiful work
Fetten Respekt, super Arbeit und richtig tolles Ergebnis. 👌🏽
Thank brother i was searching that how is even this kind of paint even possible but uh made me learn. Thaks broo lots of ❤️
Amazing 🤩 🤩 I love this. Thank you!! I'm going to try this pattern on my skis
You’re welcome 😊
Great job Martin 👍☺️
Gorgeous! I do not have the patience for all of that sanding.
That turned out amazing
Another great video! I love how you break it down to a level I can follow. If I wanted to do this, but add the bike logo, could I just mask over the silver base coat with the decal before doing the crystal effects and the black / candy coat finishes. Then remove the decals showing the logo in silver followed by the 2k clear coat?
Fantastic work, thanks 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Amazing!!! awesome!!! beautyful!!! Martin God of Paintings
Thank you! Cheers!
Fantastic!!!! nice job Etoe!
Maby in the futur you have a idea for a diy for a traveler bike?
This is awsome! I love your video's, good to see that you are doing more tutorial style video's. I do have some questions regarding painting, what paint do you use in your airbrush? How do you prevent paint bleeding under stencils with low opacity colours? Maybe you could do a video regarding basic airburshing techniques and using stencils, including cleaning the airbrush and preventing clogs etc.
1k nitro and acrylic, 2K clear, spray paint, nearly everything.
Very nice Martin!
Very nice! Glossy or matte, it looks amazing.
Martin You Rock! Amazing look and the shop looks great. However, i miss the antics! Grinchy paint jobs and the name of those who are afraid to knock off cable stops!! 😂
Thanks 👍
That is a work of art....
Looks awesome 👏🏻
Great work!
Hi Martin, a big thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us, I know that preparing a CZcams video takes time (this is why I don’t do it 😂, I need to retire first 😂) THANKS
Many thanks!
beautiful job
Woah that's incredible
Brilliant!
Looks beautifully organic.
Thanks a lot
Love this guy.
Nice work 😊👍🏻👍🏻
Great painting ! My pro tip - hummer the tape 1:57 (use rubber hammer on tape, its guicker than cutting with knife).
Amazing work, looks great!
Would Montana gold transparent colors be a good replacement for the candy colors ?
Keep doing your amazing DIY videos !
They are not as vibrant as candy colors.
wow that looks sick bro 🔥🔥
so majestic. never touched my kb and mouse while watching
I absolutely love your videos and they've given me the confidence to paint my carbon frame. I have an S-Works Ready to Paint frameset. The logos are just decals. And it looks to have a very thin clearcoat layer over the bare carbon. How much prep work is required for the Specialized Ready to Paint frames? Do I need more than a quick sanding or scuffing of the clear coat? And my plan is using the 1K primer you linked, Montana Gold spray cans for a simple gold logo and white background, then the 2K gloss clearcoat for a shiny finish. Does that sound good? Also, do you have any tips or experience with the Montana Gold Marble Effect spray cans? I was thinking about doing a marble effect.
Keep an eye out in the future. Maybe you can do a critique video because I'm trying to use all of your tips to get a quality job done.
Very nice effect and finish... Definitely a lot of work tho.
Ok, I've watched two videos where you've done this trick. I have to try it even if it's on a piece of scrap metal.
Absolute master Martin. 🎉
Thanks.
Not bike related but this video and your painting skills have given me the inspiration to try to paint my computer case with this effect so thank you very much.
Edit: Due varies laws the transparent red and orange cannot be shipped to the US so do you have any alternative suggestions for those? Thank you.
Excellent video !
✌️
Thank you! Cheers!
How do we get a glass effect for the painting??
I'm in love. I've never seen the crystal effects paint job before. I must have led a sheltered life.
Now, i want to repaint my helmet, my bike frame, my car, my left arm... you name it. I'm blown away by its amazing appearance.
Ausgezeichnett!!
hello, thank you for the video. primer and all paint are acrylic or epoxy ?
supper nice Video, I will do it with my old alu frame
Have fun
No sanding no adhesion.
Nice work!.It becomes hard to apreciate the real tones you are aplying with that purple light hitting from the background
Well done 👍👍👍
Hello,
The crystals worked finaly.
I have painted a project and gave it a really really light coat with montana gloss transparant varnis because i also used water based acrylic markers. But is it possible to put a 2k varnis coat on it after 12 hours dry? And must i light sand this layer before 2K (i used candy colors so can not sand much! )
Stunning
I've painted 2 frames, the first with 2k clearcoat the second with 1k clearcoat. after just assembling the bikes the 1k clearcoat already had some scratches on it. after 1 riding season the 1k clearcoat chipped on multiple spots. buy the paint as cheap as possible but just make sure to use a quality clearcoat.
I have to say that the 1k probably has a longer cure time since it's formulated to be all-in-one, whereas a 2k is hardener and paint and they mix and flash quickly and cure very quickly and become very hard. The 1k will in theory take much longer to cure to full hardness.
Dude Im a spray painter my kids bikes are painted with good automotive paint and it chips nothing like the powder coat but powder coat fades
Sencillamente el mejor
wow , that looks sick
Every time he slams the fame over that stand I get concerned
Here just to make a comment about headset bearing not fitting properly for some reason
Me too 😂
It is like the UPS professional toss of the packages 😂
@@MaxGolden haha.
Here for the same thing 😂
I want to do this on a skateboard that I will be using. Will I have s as problem with the crystal paint since it’s wood? Should I clear coat it first before the crystal paint to be safe?
Amazing 🤩
magnificent job
Thank you very much
Can anyone advise me on the colour top coat paint?
I don’t think that Spray Max paint is readily available where I am. What would be the best alternative or what should I be looking for? I presume it has to be quite thin in order for the crystal effect to be visible through?
Would any metallic spray be suitable?
Fantastic video!
I have one question to go along with the effect. Have you tried using Montana Hologram Glitter effect spray over the top?
I really like the effect, and plan on doing a 2-color paint scheme with some raw carbon but with hologram Glitter over the top of all colors.
Curious how it would play with the Crystal effect.... Any insight would be helpful! 🙂
Yes I have
