      @mrjones422 Před 4 lety +93

      The term you're looking for is "role players".
      Take Dennis Rodman for example. The man was one of the greatest rebounders and hustle players of all time. He was a hall of famer. Yet only average 7 Ppg for a career. He also never averaged even 1 block per game or one steal per game for a season his entire career. Yet was considered an elite defender, and won defensive player of the year 2 times, because he could get in the oppositions head and was good at taking charges. His impact on games could not be measured by stats alone. That is why the Bulls are still considered one of the best teams to ever do it.
      On the defensive side the Bulls teams were amazing. On the offensive end they basically had Jordan and Pippen with role players. A guy like Dennis' main role on the offensive end was to grab offensive rebounds.

Plus dont act like everywhere LeBron goes his teams have always been great and have always catered to his playstyle! The bulls had a better front office, and were better in acquiring rotational talent (Pippen, Rodman, Grant, Kerr, Kukoc, Harper) that constitutes a team built around Jordan. Cavs and Heat relied on "number one option offensively" talent (Wade, Bosh, Love, Irving). Lebron had teammates who had to adjust from being number 1, to 2nd and 3rd options. Before going to Lebron's team, they were already putting up stats because they had to, whether their team was winning (Wade,Bosh) or losing (Irving, Love). This in turn allowed them to have accolades such as allstar nods and all nba team selections. Whereas in Jordan's case, none of his teammates (with exception to Ron Harper) started out as number 1 offensive options and didn't put up the necessary offensive stats that the league places emphasis on. In my opinion, offensive stats are placed at a higher premium than defensive stats, that is why people would argue that Kevin Love or Kyrie Irving are "better" than Pippen or Rodman.

    The all star teams are a popularity competition , it’s not a true reflection of team balance , roles and contribution within the group . So we need to stop using the all star games as a measure of a person . Look at the bulls over their 8 year purple patch . Rodman best defender and rebounder all time , former champ and all star , hodge 3 point champ , Kerr greatest 3 point % all time , grant made an all star team when MJ left , so he was close for a few years and then you have MJ and Jordan which speak for themselves . So counting Allstars is a dangerous measure it’s worse if you count all stars for a particular year .

      Mo William's was a great piece. Catch and shoot on the moneyyy! Above average defender and excellent at moving off the ball for lebron to pile his assists with. that's why lebrons passing to the 3 ball is 7 times more than mjs. Mj got his assists with giving the ball to mid range players and feeding the post off of broken defense. Way more skilled. MJ = Goat

      Mark Scarlet that’s a very good point. I thought it was a dumb argument they were making to begin with on all star appearances. On the flip side, dennis Rodman has 2-all star appearances and is hall of famer. He hardly ever got voted in because fans hated him. So yeah, all-star appearances is a flawed argument.

      If you think about it, every award is overrated. Every stat is overrated. That's why the eye test is the best way to define a player. Lebron played in the east. Playing in the garbage east helped him lead his team to more wins and allow him to be in the MVP conversation. Lebron would have missed the playoffs 4 times in his career, had he played in the west. And would have had only 3 finals appearances at best

Michael Jordan, at least I dont think had anyone on his team that outplayed him in a series like that? This is not a little choke, this is a huge choke. And how can you say they let others score, D Wade was on his way to another Finals MVP of it wasn't for Lebron. They tried to stop him, they couldn't, but easily Lebron is Lebron and should have done a lot more. Heck Jason Terry outplayed him that series. It is completely his fault no excuses. First off you need to check your source or your head because Kevin love never averaged anything near 8 PPG when he went to Cleveland. He averaged 17.2 PPG and 10 RPG during his tenure with LBJ.
      Secondly Charles Oakley only ever played ONE season with MJ where he averaged 3 PPG and 6 RPG so thank you for destroying your own point about players not being as good as they used to be.
      Thirdly
      Steve Kerr averaged 8 PPG during his time with MJ. Which is 2 PPG less than what Allen averaged with LBJ. So wait if Allen was washed what’s Kerr?
      Fourth
      Horace grant was a great player but doesn’t even compare to the likes of Chris Bosh or Anthony Davis. He had identical stats to shaq in 2010 with the Cavs 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
      Not to mention of all the players YOU mentioned this is combined how many all star appearances they have

      10x All star
      LBJ Teammates
      31x All star
