      Alex Spofford Because from watching both their whole Careers Peyton has actually always been better than Brady, better iQ he was the defensive coverage read master, better arm, he carried the Colts. Brady is great too but he most of the time had a great defense, has the best coach EVER, was not causing defenses headaches like Peyton could. Peyton has 4 MVPs if I'm not mistaken, Peyton got injured and his team couldn't win, Brady got injured and Patriots still win games. Peyton could've went undefeated Colts SB year but HC was afraid of injury last gm of season (rightfully so), Peyton has better numbers across the board, the eye test tells me Peyton was better, just like the eye test shows Rodgers is the best now suffering from the same thing Peyton had to endure (as a Colt) no defense to help him. Brady lucky 2 SBs the opposite team had an opportunity to run the ball in a crucial situation to beat Patriots (Seahawks, Falcons) he still a great QB but not better than Peyton to me.

    Makes a real good point on Kareem

    • @mattnorris7124
      @mattnorris7124 Před 5 lety +43

      I don't think Kareem gets enough respect for what he's done in basketball, for me, Top 3 players ever are Kareem, Jordan & Lebron and in no order because there are so many incomparable factors involved. For instance, Lebron & Kareem never played against the Bad Boy Pistons, Lebron & Jordan never played with Magic, Jordan & Kareem haven't played against a 4-Headed Monster Warriors team. When Kareem started playing in the league, it only had 17 teams which purely based off of the number of teams gives you a 5.88% chance of winning at the start of the season that drops by 2.5% with 30 teams as in today's game (there was still only 25 teams by time Kareem retired). Lebron's played through a transitional phase in the game that's gone from dominant big men to small ball death line ups where the 3 is extremely dominant, since he came into the league. The science of athletic development also advanced rapidly after Jordan retired and especially after Kareem retired so more players in the league have been able to form themselves in to better athletes, which has also worked to Lebron's benefit in terms of how he's managed to look after himself. These are all things you can't really put numbers on in terms of how much of an impact it actually has on the overall conversation.
      I also loved Isiah's point about where Lebron got his basketball brain from, primarily because it's something that NEVER gets talked about but it is very intriguing.

    Isiah made the Jordan/Lebron argument more realistic. People say that he's salty but he didn't say anything negative. He said that he'll take ''the mind" over the scorer, someone who takes rookie coaches to the finals. I 100% agree with Isiah given the mechanics of basketball. There's more to basketball than just scoring and Isiah being a former point guard he understands how Lebron leads his team. I feel like Lebron was responsible for a lot more and he should get more credit.

    for all those saying Isaiah is salty. search for other videos where he praised Jordan and called him GOAT. why would he be salty? he beat Jordan in a series twice. I'm a Jordan fan but it took two series before Jordan beat the Pistons. He needed Pippen showing up and embrace the triangle offense before beating the Pistons. to his point recognize the fact that Lebron is going down as one of the greats that never had a great veteran coach. he took a rookie coach Spoelstra to the Finals and 3 times after that. he took rookie NBA coach Blatt to the Finals once. and now Ty Lue twice. A guy who didn't have tutelage of a great coach from college or in the NBA took a mediocre team to the Finals when he was only 22 with Mike brown as a coach.

    Real talk by Isiah Thomas in this clip. I'm glad he confronted that Jordan lover in the audience who said, "Sour grapes". I'm so f**king tired of Jordan lovers attacking people's character if you choose someone over MJ. That's their default setting, and it's asinine. Isiah Thomas is an All-Time great player who is a 2-time champion, and he battled against Kareem, Julius Erving, MJ, Magic Johnson, Bird, etc. Isiah ended up making very solid cases in this segment for why he would choose Lebron over MJ to start a franchise, and why he believes Kareem is the GOAT. But before he could even share those reasons, an MJ lover yelled "Sour grapes" at him That's how it is with MJ lovers. If you don't choose MJ, there is something fundamentally wrong with you. Either you're a millennial who never saw MJ play..... or you're an irrational fanboy..... or you don't know the game of basketball..... or you're just a MJ hater..... or it's a case of jealousy/sour grapes etc etc etc. MJ lovers are unable/unwilling to accept different opinions about the GOAT. And the most maddening thing is that MJ lovers accuse people with different opinions of being "biased". Are you f**king kidding me?!? They are out of their MJ-loving minds!

I've been a NBA fan since I was 10 years old, so I've been watching for 38 years. If you do the math, it should tell you that I saw the entire careers MJ, Bird, Magic, Isiah, Hakeem, Pippen, Ewing, Stockton, Malone, Wilkins, Drexler, Barkley, Worthy, McHale, etc. I saw most of the NBA careers of Julius Erving (my favorite player of all-time) and Moses Malone. Ernesto Castro - Isiah said nothing that was disrespectful or demeaning toward MJ. Kareem has a legit case for GOAT. And Lebron has a legit case for being the 1st choice to start a franchise. It is irresponsible to say that Isiah's opinion is just sour grapes. That accusation comes from a DESIRE to discredit his opinion because you don't agree with it. And that desire is rooted in the MJ lovers' refusal to accept that anyone but MJ could be the GOAT. It doesn't matter what "beef" they had back in the day. What matters is whether or not his opinion has merit. And the answer to that question is definitely YES.

    • @C2Poke

    Jordan never won anything before Scottie Pippen. He won a total of one playoff game in his career without having Pippen on his team. The greatest player ever won one playoff game? He also had Orlando Woolridge and Charles Oakley and sedale threat on those three playoff years without Pippen. The last year of his first three peat the bulls went 57-25 in the regular season. He then retired and they replaced him with Pete Myers of the CBA. So what did they do that year? They went 55-27 and lost to the knicks in the playoffs on the worst foul call in NBA history. The knicks barely lost to the rockets in 7 games in the finals. So all you Jordan loons are telling me. That you can replace the greatest ever with a CBA player and come within a horrible foul call of Winning the tittle. All this while only dropping 2 regular season games in the standings. So Michael Jordan is only worth 2 more regular season wins over Pete Myers. And how many playoff series did he ever win without Pippen? The answer is zero. In fact he only won one playoff game in his career without Pippen. That doesn’t sound like the greatest player of all time to me. Jordan is the most overrated athlete in the history of sports. Competition matters and as far as competition goes, Jordan played in primarily a Man-to-Man watered-down expansion era where the best talent was almost never at his own position. Jordan played in a big man era. The best players were in the front court. Jordan had the benefit of being able to shine against lesser competition, 2nd, and 3rd tier players. LeBron plays in a position-less era where Zone Defense is legal where the best talents are at all of his positions (To name a few: KD, PG13, Kawhi, Giannis, Butler, Kobe, Carmelo, Tracy McGrady, etc) and he directly goes against the best players in the league. LeBron has to score against the best defenders and defend against the best scorers. Jordan never had that level of competition. Yet LBJ still does more than Jordan despite having much greater challenges. Jordan can score like no one else. But I cannot imagine Jordan trying to score and defend the best scorers and run his teams offense as Point Guard and take the task of being the leading Rebounder all at the same time like LeBron has done for multiple championship runs. It could never happen. Jordan just didn't have that level of ability. If I have to decide between a player who can do everything and a player who can't, I'm selecting the player who can do everything. Jordan has never had his body go thru 8 straight full post-seasons worth of games without break. Jordan has always retired and taken a break between runs. Jordan never had to carry anything approaching LeBron's workload for his teams. Jordan always had Pippen to run his Championship team's offense and be the designated defender, and had Horace/Rodman to work the boards for him. Jordan primarily just had to handle the scoring. LeBron has AT TIMES been his teams primary Scorer, best Playmaker, top Rebounder, most active Defender (leading them in both Blocks and Steals)... simultaneously...for an entire championship playoff run. Jordan has never faced that level of energy expenditure and physical tax. LeBron is a better basketball player (team-based) than Jordan.
