    - 3 more finals MVP
    - 2 3-peats
    - 1 more season MVP
    - 4 more All-defensive 1st teams
    - 3 more All-defensive teams (total selection)
    - Won a DPOY (Lebron never did this)
    - 9 more Scoring Leaders
    - Won Steals leader 3 times (Lebron never won one)
    - Lebron took longer than Jordan to reach his playoff points record
    - Jordan never scored less than 22 points in a finals game. Lebron melted down in 2011 vs. mavs (8 points in 1 game), 2014 vs. spurs (air conditioning), and 2018 vs. warriors (0-4)
    - Beat 20 50+ win teams in the playoffs (lebron only beat 10)
    - Jordan never AVGed under 40% FG in the finals (Lebron did twice)
    - Jordan never had a teammate who AVGed over 22 points in the finals (Kyrie Irving scored 27.1ppg in 2016 finals)
    - Jordan is the only player ever to lead a team to the finals with only one other teammate (Scottie Pippen) AVGing double digits in scoring
    - Jordan never allowed a game 7 in the finals. Lebron's 2016 finals win was a 4 point difference in a game 7.
    - Lebron scored 30 pts 416 times in 1,117 games. Jordan did it 562 times in 1,072 games
    - Jordan is undefeated in the finals with 6 wins and Lebron has lost 6 times and only won 3 times
    - Jordan has had 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then did it again the next year
    - Has had 5 playoff series averaging at least 40 ppg
    - Highest scoring avg in any finals ever: 41 ppg vs. Charles Barkley's Suns in '93
    - Only rookie ever to lead his team in 4 stats
    - Only player ever to lead in scoring, win MVP, and DPOY all in the same season

    Jordan vs LeBron
Updated after Lebrons 14th season. Michael Jordan has:
    •3 more rings
    •3 more final mvps
    •1 more DPOY
    •1 more season MVP
    •9 more scoring titles
    •3 more steals leader
•3 more all defensive team selections
•4000 more points / bron moved past him in playoff points, but it took him longer.
    •800 more steals
•Beat 20 50+ win teams in the playoffs (Lebron only defeated 10)
•Jordan never averaged less than 40% Field Goal in the finals
    Lebron did it twice
    •6/6 (never allowed a game 7)
•Lebron had much more offensive help, example:
Jordan never had a teammate average more than 22 points in the finals.. In fact, Mj is Only player in NBA history to lead a team to the championship with only one teammate averaging double figures in scoring
    * In the Bulls’ 1997 playoff run, Scottie Pippen averaged 19 points per game on 42% shooting. All other teammates of Jordan averaged under 8 points per game
Kyrie averaged over 28 and DWade averaged more than 26
•MJ never ever had a finals meltdown like Lebron in 2011 against the Mavs
•MJ had more points in the playoffs in less games..
MJ accomplished all of this in 13 seasons
Lebron after his 14th season, is still chasing the “ghost (GOAT) that played in Chicago”
•Michael Jordan in the playoffs has put up atleast 40ppg, 5rpg, 5apg in 6 different playoff series. Along with an average of about 55% shooting, 3spg and 2bpg.
(86 vs bos, 89 vs cavs, 90 vs philly, 92 vs Miami, 93 vs Phoenix, 88 vs cavs) Jordan won every one of those matchups except for the 1986 matchup vs the celtics.
•Jordan in 88-89 averaged 32ppg, 8apg, 8rpg, 3spg off 54% shooting. LeBron has never even came close to this stat line.
•in 87 thru 92, MJ averaged 5 straight seasons of atleast 51% FG shooting. LeBron has never done this.
•the lowest FT% MJ ever shot in a season was 78%. Lebrons highest in a season ever is 78%.
    •MJ has a higher playoff FG% of 48.7% to Lebrons 48.3%
•MJ has a higher playoff player efficiency rating of 28.6 to Lebrons 27.3.
•MJ shoots a higher playoff 3 point percentage of 33.2% to Lebrons 32.9%
•LeBron James has scored 30 points, 416 times in 1,117 games.
Michael Jordan did it 562 times in 1,072 games.
Jordan won 6 championships without losing a final in 1,072 games and LeBron in 1,117 games has lost 5 times and has only won 3 times (updated 2018)
•MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year..
•Mj also has more career blocks (893) than Lebron James (853) despite playing in 22 LESS career games and being the smaller guy.
Also, MJ averaged 1.6 blocks per game in the 1987-88 season which is absolutely bonkers for a 6’6″ shooting guard.
Seriously this list can keep going. This isn’t even a debate. Mj is the GOAT.
    MIchael Jordan:
•NBA record 5 playoffs series’ averaging atleast 40ppg
•Only player in history to lead league in scoring and win DPOY
•Highest scoring average, points per game, in any championship series:
41.0 vs. Phoenix Suns, 1993 NBA Finals
•Only rookie in NBA history to lead his team in four statistics (1984-85)
•Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring, win Most Valuable Player, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season (1987-88)
•Only player in history to average at least 30pts 6reb 5assists And 2 steals per game AND HE DID IT 7 TIMES.
    •Only player in NBA history to win Rookie of the Year (1984-85), Defensive Player of the Year (1987-88), NBA MVP (1987-88, 1990-91, 1991-92, 1995-96, 1997-98), All-Star MVP (1988, 1996, 1998), and Finals MVP (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998)
•Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring and win the NBA championship MORE THAN ONCE in the same season
    * He did this SIX TIMES!! (1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98)
•One of two players in NBA history to score 3,000 points in a season: 3,041 points scored in 82 games played (37.1 ppg) (1986-87)
    * Wilt Chamberlain is the only other player to achieve this.
•MJ is also the only player in NBA history to score over 40 points at age 40, and he did it twice!
•In 1988, MJ earned: Dunk Champ, All Star Game MVP, NBA Scoring Title, League MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls:
    -10 scoring titles,
-Won Defensive Player of the Year,
    -9 times all defensive team,
    -9time All NBA,
    -5 league MVPs
    -6 finals MVPs
All 11 seasons. Mj has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career…

MJ - 6 titles, 6 Finals MVP, 5 NBA MVP, DPOY, x10 scoring champ, x3 Steals leader, x9 NBA 1st Defensive team (13 season)
LBJ - x3 titles, x3 finals MVP, x4 NBA MVP, x1 scoring champ, x5 All defensive 1st team (15+ seasons)
    Riiiiiight, it's close Shannon.
FYI - Just because you lead your team in stats, don't make you great, all that proves is he is NOT willing to relinquish certain aspects of the game to his teammates because he WANTS those STATS!, if you have ever played pro, you will know that if you're not a star, you will need to accomodate the STAR.
Also making the finals repeatedly means jack-all, Jerry West made it 9 times, magic made it 9 times etc, when you lose in the finals, it just means you were great in that respective conference, that's it - doesn't mean you're second best/third etc.
How many DPOY did LBJ play with Shannon?? Ben Wallace rings a bell?? x4 DPOY x5 1st Defence team, x2 Rebounds leader, Blocks leader....so yeah, I think Ben Wallace is like the Rodman of that period.
Only thing LBJ is close to right now is his retirement.

Compare the stats, PER, and accomplishments. Jordan is STILL better. The networks are having a hard time swaying Lebron James is the GOAT because he doesn't have the overall stats and accomplishments to prove that he is. It is what it is.

Jordan was more than stats and trophies, he was transcendent, a clutch athlete of near unbreakable proportions. He left for two years and came back like he was never away. Even his Washington years as an individual player, as his 40s dawned, were better than they're given credit for. Even people outside the States know basketball is 'that game Michael Jordan plays'. LeBron James is brilliant, but unless he wins a string of Finals before retiring, he'll never surpass Jordan as the GOAT.

    MJ vs LeBron
This is a silly debate. Clearly Michael is better. It's not even a close one. But let's go to the facts. Updated after Lebrons 14th season. Michael Jordan has
    •3 more rings
    •3 more final mvps
    •1 more DPOY
    •1 more season MVP
    •9 more scoring titles
    •3 more steals leader
•3 more all defensive team selections
•4000 more points / bron moved past him in playoff points, but it took him longer lol.
    •800 more steals
•Beat 20 50+ win teams in the playoffs (Lebron only defeated 10)
•Jordan never averaged less than 40% Field Goal in the finals
    Lebron did it twice
    •6/6 (never allowed a game 7)
    •Lebron had much more help
•Jordan never had a teammate averaged more than 22 points in the finals..
Kyrie averaged over 28 and DWade averaged more than 26
•MJ never ever had a finals meltdown like Lebron in 2011 against the Mavs
•MJ had more points in the playoffs in less games..
All of this accomplished in 13 seasons
Lebron is in his 14th season still chasing the "ghost that played in Chicago"
•MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year..
Seriously this list can keep going. This isn't even a debate. Mj is the GOAT.
Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls:
    -10 STRAIGHT scoring titles,
-Won Defensive Player of the Year,
    -9 times all defensive team,
    -9time All NBA,
    -5 league MVPs
    -6 finals MVPs
LBJ missed the playoffs completely in his first 2 years. Jordan didnt with scrubs on his squad. Jordan played 82 games 9 times in his career once at 40. LBJ only played 82 games once. In 89 Jordan won the scoring title all star MVP slam dunk title regular season MVP and Defensive Player of The year something LBJ has never done. Jordan also averaged 41 pts a game for an entire Finals shootimg 50% and won. Something else LBJ never did.
All 11 seasons. Mj has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career...
And before you criticize me for copy and pasting just know that it doesn’t matter if it’s copied or not, truth is truth.
    Check Mate.

Pretty impressive stat sheet. Of course one would know MJ was the goat fairly instantly without knowing all these stats just by comparing everyday typical plays in an 82 game season, year in year out. It is THE WAY he did things that sets him far apart from everybody else in line (as (larry bird > lbj) basically called him god before he ever won a championship).. There is this, and it describes visually what i am talking about czcams.com/video/cWlCdvact5E/video.html

  • @massachusettssportscentral9444

Who did Jordan beat in the Finals?
91: Last good "Showtime" team, a 58 win Lakers team
92: The dominant team of the West at the time, a 57 win Trail Blazers team
93: Beat a stacked 62 win Suns team (After upsetting the #1 seed in the East, a 60 win Knicks team)
    96: Beat a 64 win Sonics team
97: Beat another 64 win team in Utah
98: Beat Utah again who won 62 games this time
LeBron of course beat that historic 73 win Warriors team.
    His other Rings:
2012: The 47 win Thunder team in a truncated season, they were on pace to win 58 in a full season
    2013: A 58 win Spurs team
In both those cases those teams were the 2nd seeds so he avoided playing the best team from the West in 2 of his 3 championships.
For Jordan only his 1st over the 2nd seeded Lakers did he not face the best team from the West those series.
In 07 he lost to the 3rd seeded Spurs (58 Wins), in 11 lost to the 3rd seeded Mavs (57), in 14 lost to the #1 seed Spurs (62), and now in the 15 and 17 losses to the Warriors they were the #1 Seed with 67 both seasons so those were great teams.
So yeah these last 3 seasons going against the GSWs he has run into great teams but his other 2 were against only decent teams and he lost 2 to lack luster teams and 1 against a very good but not amazing Spurs team.
However in his first 5 finals the quality was overall weaker than Jordan's 6 and LeBron went 2-3 in those series.
I would not ding him hard for not being able to beat those great Warrior teams but you sure can for being below 0.500 in those other 5 seasons.

Lebron never had to go against defensive greats such as Akeem, Shawn Kemp, Patrick Ewing, Shaq, Kobe, Dennis rodman, etc. Plus Bron always had a supporting cast of teammates he played with.
Rodman and Pippen were defensive warriors not mainly scorers like Kyrie Ervin, Chris Bosh, Kevin Love, Russel Westbrook, Rondo, Dwayne Wade, Danny Green, Carmelo Anthony, and Anthony Davis whom LeBron have had as teammates.
If Jordan had played with Shaq or Akeem because the Bulls never had a real effective Big Man and/or Larry Bird or Magic then this conversation would be totally different.
      Jordan is the 🐐

John Stockton guarding Jordan in 1st quarter of the NBA finals. Jeff Hornacek guarding Jordan in the NBA finals. Howard Isley, guarding Jordan and the NBA finals. Bryon Russell, guarding Jordan and the NBA finals. None of these players were able to guard Jordan as they were not athletically, gifted enough. John Starks was 6’3”. Clyde Drexler could not use his left hand. Detlef Schrempf was the best small forward in the league at the time. Nowhere near as gifted as Kevin Durant is, or was. Jordan is great. But who was the second best guards and forwards in the league? The second best guards and forwards are not better than the second best guards and forwards in the league today.

Skip absolutely nails this argument. what casual basketball fans don't understand is this: yes, Lebron is the better passer and rebounder, but not by as big a margin as people think. and, yes, MJ is the better scorer and defender than Lebron, but by a bigger margin than people think. it's MJ, and it ain't close.
