You nailed it! I keep telling people the 1991 Pistons were not old. If they were, the 1998 Championship Bulls were "ancient" since Rodman was 37, Jordan-35, Harper-34, Pippen & Kerr-32.
They weren't old they had been in the ecf and finals for like four years straight, and were in the finals the previous year when Kobe beat him but nobody said they were old then.

Is not only about absolute numbers but also about relative numbers. Jordan has much better results in the playoffs, which means he does not put all the engines running in the regular seasons. What differentiates MJ from anybody else is that he can influence the game more when it was necessary. He can score at will.

The 80s and 90s were a much tougher time in basketball. I’ve been watching NBA since the Lakers and Celtics we’re battling against each other. Kobe was the closest thing to MJ we’ve seen, but he’s not MJ. I certainly wouldn’t mind having a LeBron Janes on my team, but if I have a choice then it’s going to be Jordan every time. There are several factors involved that makes me feel this way.
